How could they fail so hard.
Man, they might as well left all of the sprites full res.
Cause all that scalin down and the games still can't even handle the hit sparks. Seriously, if I wanted to play the game at 19 frames a second, It on an emulator ......oh wait, they game runs better on an emulator.
Anyone feel my pain here?
The game is useless for tourney training to me now. (Unless you use the emulator. Which still doesn't save the game from being so UGLY)
I'm pretty sure everyone agrees.
The first game had ZERO of these problems. The only slow down was during arcana moves, and you usually were blocking anyways.

Maybe they shoulda ported to the PS3 instead.

It sucks to hear that. I was looking forward to it's sequel.
If you have the spare time, do you mind showing a video of the game in action to see its flaws?

None of the Trailers or screenshots looked like this on the website. And they cut down ALOT nearly like 90% of the game's sprites down in size and it was for what? So the game could slow down anyways? Now on emulators you get full speed. But it still looks like horrible crap. I hope I can get my hands on an arcade board, or they somehow release this for wii or something.
This game does not need PS3 hardware to run it. The first game suffers from not even half these problems and the sprites are still at least the double res of this game. Some frames are normal, then it just cuts to an ugly half resolution sprite. It looks very horrifying.

It pains me to see that massive slow down difference.. i can handle dumbing down of sprites to fit.. but good grief watching the PS2 over emulator difference reminds of the olde days of SFII Turbo... on "normal" speed.. even then they didn't move like air was as thick as molasses >.<

I was really annoyed by the pixalized sprites in this. It happens when they are in motion. Upon stopping, they seem fine. It looks horrible if you play on a hdtv. I dont know how they can screw something up so bad. I hope atlus does NOT pick this up (unless they can somehow magically fix they problems which most likely they cant)

Yeah, as I said to you before, I feel you. And it's completely weird too. It's not like the PS2 can't handle anything far better.

Seriously, they DID NOT HAVE TO TUNE DOWN ANY SPRITES. It sure didn't have to happen in the first game(which ran better too!) and they didn't cut down on them.

Thanks for posting some comparison videos and I could tell the speed difference.
Maybe if they release it as a PSN store game they can resolve the issues?

Agreed... i'm still wondering how can you possibly mess up porting a 2d fighter. As mentioned its not like the PS2 lacks the power for 2d fighters. Specially sprite based ones... i sense excessive laziness on the side of the people who did the port in regards to actual memory optimisation =(
Figures they just went hey.. its a popular game lets just port and shove and the money will roll... kinda disgusting as whats tragic is budget games run faster/better.. and their probably even less optimised xD

Yeah, I understand they are making arcana Heart 3.
They would have had a better time selling arcana heart 2 port in a mugen pack. ( It runs better sadface)
