One of these days I'm plaining on becoming a manga artist, and on that some time later go seeing about working in japan. anyone have any idea one what it takes to "make it big?"

Storyline along with the art. Without a good storyline it won't get you anywhere. Also make sure you know what age group you're aiming your manga at and use the style that age group would like. (But I don't know, style's something hard to change, so yea...)
Good Artwork and Storyline...
Style is something which takes time to develop...
When you have reach that stage...
One look at it and people would know it's done by you...

Ambition but more than anything else..extreme Passion. Excellent stories and art will just come naturally because of it. ;)

Oh oh oh one more thing... Doesn't have a life besides drawing if you plan to work as a lone wolf and isn't gonna get any assisstances to help you out. > >

If you figure it out and break into the Japanese market let me know how you did it. :D I want to draw manga for Japan, too.
