How did it die? Is it the RROD? Did you have warranty? O_O

maybe you can take it to repair. but if it cost more than $70 then better juts get a new one or a ps3.

Still covered by the 3 year RROD warranty?
Though I dunno if it is covered where you live...

The dreaded red ring.
I've had it over 3 years, tried using different
leads and plugs but the machine does nothing.

Sorry to hear that Alfy,
My 360 has died on me three times, every time I contacted Micro$oft and they repaired it for me for free.
Give them a call and see what they are willing to do for you.
Good luck.

it's a good chance to get some money from your used games
and some people would buy the good parts of the hardware like my old 360 ( wich never died on me but sold it to get the falcon whatever thing ) wich i sold for $100

I've thrown the system out but kept the leads, controllers hardrive and games.
Gonna get a ps3 as they have a few games i want to play,
then gonna pick another 360 up in a month or 2.

Sorry to hear for your loss... Go ahead an check with MS to see if you are still covered under warranty, even though you had it for more than 3 years.
If not... Join the "Dark Side"!! :snicker2: HA HA HA... Just playing with you...

Shit definetely happens. See, I'm already on my third one, all of which were promptly replaced by the M$ technical support. After using the Falcon, Jasper, Elite, Master Chief, Kamen Raider and whatnot models, I hope this one will resist some more.

The 360 has a decent warranty attached to it. You'll lose a couple a weeks, but unless your a robot zombie hell-bent on finishing all games within your undead life time, I fail to see the problem.

Thats what u get for understimating Prinnies! :evillaugh: That being said I'm not touching my copy of Disgaea for a while... my completist tendencies means it will eat up a huge chunk of my time and i wanna finish other games first xD
Oh and ouch on the 360 Death... kinda sad how thanks to the fanbois of our generation that putting up with hardware failure is now the norm =(

I have all three of the "Next-Gen" systems, and the only one that suffers from it's stereotype is the Wii.
Y'know, the one where it sits under your HUGE T.V. and collects dust for eternity?

I could see how that works. That game effs up my PS3 all the time. The only way to quit from that game to the XMB is to reset the console.
It'd probably do way worse to my HALO THREEEEEEEE XBAWKZ

I believe that the warranty only lasts 3 years though. If I remember correctly, it's like this (At least, here in Europe):
Warrenty is 3 years for the infamous RRoD, 2 years for any other hardware failure like disc-scratching DVD drives. But I could be wrong ;)
My RRoD'd 360 got completely replaced with a new one, and with that came new warrenty (at least that was what the service report said that came back with it). So a fresh new period of 3 years. I'm not sure if that also happens when they repair your original 360, but i expect it does.

that's sad
maybe you just have to wait till Microsoft released their XBOX 720 with a built-in Windows 7 OS and 6 years warranty with health insurance worth $50000
.....
but maybe in the next lifetime :evillaugh:

Exactly! That 720 console would fix everything.....until it's red ring of death will cause the console to implode, taking your home with it. :evillaugh:
Seriously until Microsoft gets off their asses and properly fix the 360's hardware issue, I would stay from it and get a ps3. If you're really poor, the Wii.

Someimes I wonder why MS didn't do a re-design of their console just like Sony did?
You know, like make the system has more ventilation and a big fan in it.

Whee, my piratebox just died yesterday. Funny cos' I wasn't even playing it for almost a week (save the <1hr training sessions in BB). When we fired it up, it just froze a few times and finally RRoD'd. Ah well, time to grind more at Disgaea 3.
I'll probably be learning how to fix it, and replace/add fans as well.

One of the most common reasons for dead or red ringed 360s is because of overheating.
try taking a few cooling intervals as you game if you somehow repair your xbox or get a new one.

Get a PC and connect it to your TV. Plays Dragon Age: Origins much better and allows nude mods for Oblivion.

If you are confident enough to open your x-box..repair costs less than US$10 in parts.

Whoever buys himself a console needs to understand that neither the Xbox nor the PS3 is 100% safe, just like the Xbox, the PS3 has its own version of RROD.
