It's funny but the girl I liked least when I originally started the series ended up being my favorite. Motoko hands down would be my choice. For one thing you could practice Martial Arts with her every day. :)

Secondly would be Haruka since I'm closer to her age, and her demeanor is the most similar to mine. Also I smoke so I wouldn't need to brush my teeth and gargle as much as with one of the other girls. :D

Thirdly would be Kaolla (Grown up of course), because her love for computers and wackyness that would keep everyday fun and exciting.

Even after all the Animes and all the Mangas I never really felt I knew much about Shinobu. The issues she is dealing with are very common in the western world where divorce isn't nearly as frowned upon as in Japan. She is sweet, but also so unfinished that it's hard to tell what she'll end up like. Kaolla on the other hand occasionally morphs into her adult self and we can tell adult or not she is a hyperactive nutcase.

The Mister Kissy episode was just too funny though. :D

Mutsumi is the most like my current girlfriend of all the Hinata girls. For instance my girlfriend wiped out one of my dreamcasts last week. Kicked the wires right out of their plugs. She cried afterwards, so of course I wasn't mad but eesh. Also she is a genius sometimes, but other times does things so dumb that I'm just left wondering who the heck I shacked up with.

She is super kind like Mutsumi and so of course I love her, but STOP BREAKING STUFF ALREADY!

Oh yeah and about the letting Naru win Rock Paper Scissors. Am I the only person who got the impression that Mutsumi was possibly alot more in control of the whole Naru/Keitaro/Mutsumi triangle then she let on. I'm not really saying she was dishonest or devious, but sometimes it seemed to me that she would have to be close to retarted to not have figured out what was going on. She's fragile but acts tough. She's stubborn, gets jealous and is violent. She jumps to conclusions and wouldn't hesitate to punish you for it. Still in the series she has this wonderful voice and in the end I really really liked her.

BUT if I was to choose one I would (like most of you) go for Motoko. The way she tries to be this strong and independant woman but deep inside she's really fragile. And as said before me she has a wonderful voice and her scream is like heaven. :D

Well, the thing is I *do* like Naru. In the end, she's a sweet girl, she's beautiful and you simply gotta love that smile. My problem is that 90% of the time she will kick your butt for no apparent reason other than perhaps a little clumsiness or a minor misunderstanding. Keitaro has achieved near immortality due to the fact that he kept getting hit, to the point where he would shrink back in fear whenever he did something wrong in fear of immediate retaliation.

Sure, once she actually admits she loves the guy, the violence level is toned down, but by that time I would have been long gone. I gotta admire Keitaro for sticking to it for that long...

I thought the whole world had gone Motoko crazy. Actually the huge number of people who've chosen Motoko explains to me why her figurine is always sold out, and goes for the most on e-bay.

Naru was my first favorite when I started watching the series. But her violence is so relentless that eventually I just ended up afraid of her. Her character is nothing like any person I've ever met. A geek at school, but not at home. The top of her class and spoken in awe by her classmates, yet she seemingly has few friends at school. Yet instantly makes the jump to pop stardom on a whim. Insanely jealous for a guy who she claims to have no feelings for. She is one contradiction after another.

That being said, I did actually feel myself tearing up when she finally lost control and kissed Keitaro. So obviously I was happy that Keitaro and her finally got together.

I really wish Mr. Akamatsu would have stopped the series at that point and spent a little time on something else to clear his mind, because shortly after that kiss the story really seems to change for the worse. Keitaro finally reaching his goal then suddenly taking off for some lost island in the Pacific was really a kick in the pants for me. That whole Pararakels Island sub story was the low point in the series for me. Didn't advance the story in the slightest and other then offering a chance to see Naru in leaf bikinni seemed to serve no purpose what so ever. Anybody else get the feeling that Akamatsu san was totally fed up with the series and characters at that point?

I really enjoyed Naru's brief appearance in Ground Defense Force Mao Chan where we get a glimpse into her future, and find out that she's pretty much the same old destruction derby that she was in Hina.

I think the casting for all the actresses in Love Hina was perfect. When I saw Love Live Hina for the first time I was blown away by how much the Seiyuu resembled their characters. In both looks and demeanour. If I didn't know that Naru had already taken shape during the creation of A.I. Love You, I would have sworn he actually used Horie Yui as his model.

Also congratulations to Ueda Yuji who did a fantastic job and really brought Keitaro to life for me.

You yourself have mentioned Shinobu's shyness, her love to take care of her family (cooking and cleaning), and her overall kindness. You're obviously not sitting in front of an image of Shinobu and drooling.

Most of the people have made comments to why they like the characters they like, and so far few have just been based solely on looks. Again testament to the fact that Akamatsu san did such a wonderful job bringing these characters to life.

Yes yes, I know this isn't a very original poll. I'm sure it's been done here before, and was even done by Ken Akamatsu himself during the Manga's release. I'm curious to see how it finally ends up though, because the official poll from the Manga would have mostly included Japanese fans. This board gets a much larger sampling of the worlds population, and I'm curious to see if our poll differs much from the official one.

I'll hold off on posting the official results from the Manga for a while until we get a large enough sampling to be able to claim some accuracy.

So far this Poll seems to be radically differn't but we'll see.

The only reason I read this manga series was because of Motoko's interesting character alone. That depends....LoL. Sheer kawaii-ness will always win me over versus hotness...cause of the two, the second is bound to disappear first into old age since the first is more correlated with personality, and I think Shinobu has a personality to back her looks ^_^
