Know N e Japanese/Korean/Chinese Ska and/or Punk?
Im only know about The Witches for some Korean Ska
Im really interested in listening to the asian take on these genres
Maximum The Hormones is a punk band from japan. Not bad but far from being an uber band in my opinion

There is a band from Japan, called Asian Kung-Fu Generation (both of those facts are iffy, feel free to correct me). They have a pretty good feel to them, kind of a NOFX, Face To Face mix, i would describe them as generic if i was Japanese, but im not and i dont understand what thier saying, so i can hardly call them generic
urm...AKFG is not really a punk band...more a punk-rock band ( if you're not picky on the terms :p )
BTW I 've torrented their full disco a while ago^^ If you're interested dl it when the tracker is up ^^

There are thousands and thousands of Japanese punk bands. Depends on what style you like. If you only like NOFX/Blink 182 I can be of no help, but if you like your punk a bit more underground there's many great bands.
Old:
Cobra
SS (total noise from 1979)
GISM (they are THE legends, totally weird metalpunk)
Bastard (they are hardcore, but one of the best bands ever)
New:
The Addiction
Last Survivors
Crude
OK, I could go on and on :) There's also a Japanese Hardcore room in soulseek where many friendly and knowledgable people could help you out.

Please do not put NOFX and Blink 182 in the same catagory, Blink = Pond Skum, NOFX = God Like.
Have a nice day.

Hehe, I love NOFX and hate Blink, but it's both poppy punk. And I don't know shit about Japanese or other Asian poppy punk :D

Dang, hard to compare to that last list. :P
For JRock/Punk I recommend Judy & Mary. They're a classic and just amazing. I'd put The Brilliant Green here too bc for me they're Jrock/Indie, their early work though.
For KRock/Punk I've heard of a band called Schizo. Their name is getting up there so it may be hard to find some of their tracks online.
All I came up with was this: bandschizo.com
It's late, so I'll come up with more later :P

Does anyone know where I can buy a Witches CD? That sounded like a good band, even though I've only heard one song. I've tried places like www.yesasia.com, but they're always out of stock. Maybe they don't print them anymore?
