Ha! Ha! That's what you get when some ignorant people buy products they don't even know about, in this case, A BOOTLEG PRODUCT! Yes, this game was a cracked & hacked version. You could actually download the ROM. Seems like this is going to spark a case on piracy & bootlegers. A good reason why HongFire.com doesn't allow any Nintendo ROMs here.......

Well he did ROM it, so you get what you pay for...told to **** off for nothing, there you are. WHo said games were for kids?
Does that mean the father downloaded the game and then burned it into that thing that plays those games?
hmm
this is what i found so far.
Re: Little Girl Finds Swearing in Disney Game.
This article is missing several points:
Firstly, the game is definitely an illegal copy, probably bought second hand or from a market stall.
The offensive part is nothing to do with the game itself, and is a seperate "shout out" added to the cartridge by the group of people that hacked into the game to allow it to be copied. These shout outs have been common in copied games for twenty years.
And lastly, what parent buys a cheap copied version of a game for xmas? Its like buying a pirated DVD at a car boot sale! The lesson here is, always buy legitimate games. I believe you owe Disney an apology.
hahahaha

You can't BURN a cartridge. And even if he did download that game, he'll be stupid enough to bring this to court. What I think is, it means that the dumb father bought a cheap 2nd hand bootleg product for his daughter. Or someone colud have cheated him instead. Moral of this story: Always buy original legitimate products.

So.....Who exactly is he going to sue? The disney company? Or the anonymous bootleggers? Either way it doesn't seem like he will win.

he is not gonna sue, he bought a bootleg product and he cant sue Nintendo/Disney anyways. He can probably try against the bootlegger but i dont think he would win.

He bought the game on ebay, from the pictures in the auction and the picture of the cartridge, it seemed perfectly legit. It was a mode 7 release, and you most certainly can "burn" cartridges... You need the right EEPROM and a compatible board. Making the catridge shells, stickers, and obtaining the screws is easier, but I think this particular copy came from a mass production factory, not just someone screwing around in the basement with a rom burner.

Actually the dating on this site is the euro style, so it's Jan 4....but it sure read like April Fools to me... kinda suspicious.
