just read this article today and it really concern me:
http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/12/09/accidental-loli-downloader-faces-20-years/

Basically, that guy get busted for using limewire, but what about Http, megaupload and torrent? I never use p2p to download porn, and what kind of idiot download loli from p2p? and I only use torrent to download anime
so, can they trace anyone downloading from a http source? If that happen, then most HF users will have big problem here. Reason: we have a whole loli gallery here anyway

Loli is not illegal in the US. Read the law. It states that drawn images that look realist or made of a real model and engaged in a sexual act or position and include an obvious minor are illegal.

Loli does not look realistic, it is not of a real model, and therefore does not fall under the law. if it was illegal it would not be allowed here. This has been gone over many times. Loli does not fall under the CP law in the US.

As for the case you linked. he downloaded REAL girls, not drawn girls. Do you see the difference? REAL is bad drawn is OK as long as it does not look real or done of a real model.

Also it does not matter how you download, there is a record of what and when you download. All the methods are logged and trackable.

I bet the next step is that police will be freely producing, distributing and promoting child pornography in order to nab potential sex offenders.

He faced this for downloading CP, not 2D lolis. A big difference.
Either way, serves him right for downloading things with crappy P2P programs and not using special deleting tools afterwards.

Never leave anything to fate or the cops.

What a freaking idiot.

He should have had dummy drives filled with innocuous bs, like city people have dummy wallets with 50 bucks inside to throw at would-be muggers.

That's what you get for trusting in the system.

The system is for controlling the sheeple. And sheeple are for fleecing and mutton.

That guy just got sent to the industrial sheeple processing plant.

The FBI advises people in similar circumstances to turn themselves in to authorities, although there is no guarantee they will escape prosecution, and (frequently permanent) confiscation of computers is likely.

Yeah, go on sheepy sheepy, trust in your shepherd.

I stopped using P2Ps like limewire and frostwire just for that reason, it's far to dangerous, and you could end up downloading CP when you thought you was just downloading a normal porno. Not only that but many of those CP files on Limewire are being left active by the FBI so that they can catch people as they go to download it.

I remember reading that earlier today.
According to him, it was an accident, and he deleted it immediately.
What I don't get however, is why the FBI wanted to search his home a year later, the article (or I'm just not reading closely enough) doesn't make that apparent. And, the guy is also stupid for pleading guilty. He should have fought it out in court. That, and his counsel is a total idiot.

I like how I actually believe in the Christian God from various instances and yet:

Yeah, go on sheepy sheepy, trust in your shepherd.

Couldn't agree more!

Come my children, allow thine milk to be the blood of all thine abominations.
Might thy strength grow from thine idiocy, allow death to smear thine face with justification, so as to obscure thy sexuality. Let death excuse that which thine would consider evil. Live only in thine dreams and remain lost in all thine pleasantries.

Let death be secondary, Sexuality primary, let it be evil to thine eyes, yet let the blood of many be liquid for thine loins.

Hypocrisy.

The only thing I can say from this is just that this guy is just a complete idiot.
Reasons:
1) If he's a noob then why the hell did he risk something like that?
2) He uses limewire to download that sort of things.
3) He doesn't cover his traces.
4) And pleads guilty!?!?

His head is broken.

Actually the Protect act states that computer generated child pornography is prohibited when, "such visual depiction is a computer image or computer-generated image that is, or appears virtually indistinguishable from that of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct" also the law never specifies the illustrated rendering to have to resemble a real child. It has very broad wording that says, "a visual depiction of any kind, including a drawing, cartoon, sculpture, or painting-". If you want to read the exact words I found a link for you, my interpretation is that the Protect act effectively prohibits the creation and possession of loli in the United States.

they do that with guys they suspect are pedos here, and then kill em they dont bother with trials or other stuff, still there are the cases of foster parents or uncles or such that rape their nieces sons or the like but usually the local sector gives him a beating then in the prison its raped by everyone to later be killed...

i see loli and like Loli of 9-15 years XD well i guess a 15 years old its no more loli, technically it is but well. but i dislike normal child porn, a real life kid its not aware of sex and such stuff, in loli all is different, or so i used to think there are isolated cases where the kids are corrupted since they are small and later are kids of 8 or 9 years with a sick mind, i have seen some those are isolated small cases but there are its sad but its true.

its a sick world so what do you expect? i think the next will happen its the great flooding v2.0 and the appearance of the Millenium Earl XD

what's more idiotic to me is the law. so you can get 20 years in jail for accidentally downloading CP but you go out and kill a man you only get 10 years. way to fail.

Well Six, just goes to show, a young girl's virginity is more valuable than human life, (yours or mine, or everyone elses). Face it. Cherries are a priority now.

What if some prankster started renaming his CP files and shared it to the community? If I downloaded a file called "scenic_wallpaper.jpg" and it turned out to be something else evil, would the FBI come knocking on my door in the next 5 minutes?

Hehehe nice recovery.

I think the OP needs to change the thread title. Around here loli refers to drawn anime type girls. The guy was busted for having pictures of REAL girls, not lolis.

Kuh...

One: Were the FBI hoping to find porn?

It's like the Brown case in the UK where they found amature BDSM porn from gay dudes?

Two: he was stupid to not plead guilty or have a file shredder!

three: this sucks!

I believe there is a safe habour provision in the law which states that you will not be prosecuted if you report it (where you got and who had it) to law enforcement and then you delete it. but I could be wrong.
