ANy other Initial D Arcade Stage players out here in HongFire ANime Network ^^? ( Any arcade version =p including 1). Holler here then ;p!
*chugs down a mug of coffee and starts typing to ensure that this post isnt a senseless thread*
Personally I like version 3 better off 2 ( Never played Version 1 so I'm not posting any comments on that version ^^; ), It's way much more fun and fairer to play on. In comparison to version 2 ><, that has overpowered car models. Cant help it If I complained about Intregra DCs and RX-7s. My AE86 Trueno and AE85 is practically minced by these cars even when the opposing drivers (majority are using the cheap [ no offence ;p] Intergra DCs) are grinding the walls on each turn -_- ( that includes that these drivers choose the worst possible conditions for my AE86 to race on). Not forgetting not many of them ( at my place ) are true sports and they just aim for a cheap sure win game, and by the time I want to challange them back. They'll just run over to the 4 course TA. Makes my blood boil ;p. *cough* Not anymore in version 3...*grins*
Sorry if this seem liked a complaint or braggy and messy =p, but I want to look for other users in the community and find out if we could share a tricks or resources ^^. As well as find out what are the personal opinions or experiences of other indviduals regarding the game regardless of which version.
PS: I'm an AE86 Trueno user in version 3 ><, it has 1.7mil points -_-. Transfered the car over from version 2 =p. As for my AE85, it's just for show ^^. Is it just me o_O or the Arcade forum is pronounced Acade or I'm posting at the wrong place ><;?
i play :)
I have a sil eighty.
and yes version 3 is better than version 2because version 2 had many unbalances

oh ^^ Sweet. A Sil80? It's a good car ^_^! I've tried a Full Tune Sil80 with a B tune ><. It handles nicely but kinda felt a bit of excessive understeer at times, maybe it was the tune ><.( Personal opinion, slighty feels like driving a AE86 Trueno ;p, might be wrong >< , I dont drive anything besides my AE86 Trueno ^^; )
The B (bat wing) Tune Spoilers\Wings looks pretty wicked and silly at the same time though o_O in my honest opinion ;p.
Just a straight resource from Sega's main website on the car's look with tunes o_O ( If anyone is curious about what my ramblings is about >< ). Take note of the crappy names for the Initial D characters too <<.

i was thinking of starting an ID Arcade thread the other day, oh well.
yeah i prefer version 3 over version 2. version 1 was bad in such a way that steering was uber hard and acceleration was just plain crap.
i used many cars over the various versions of ID, but on version 3 i played both jap and english version. but during version2, i used the DC2 ONLY if another DC2 player challenged me. main car was the FD3S, Evo7 and AE86. as for version 3, Evo5 (supposedly the most balanced car in the game) AE86, FD3S, RX-8. oh and now the GC8V (the Bunta car)

It's a Good game Usually I use a FD3S but now I switched to Skyline BNR34
I hope they would just decrease the credits in the tokens (damn! 4 tokens need to play the game)

Woa ^^ Quite number of Sil80 users XD. I did have consideration of making a Sil80 >< but I'm kinda stuck to my AE86 only policy ;p bleh...dumb me.
adun50: i was thinking of starting an ID Arcade thread the other day, oh well.
This thread is as much as yours even if someone else starts it ^_^.
RedSuns: I hope they would just decrease the credits in the tokens (damn! 4 tokens need to play the game)
They've just lowered the token needed per game at my usual arcade to 3 tokens ( RM 0.50 per token so it's RM 1.50 Malaysian Ringgit per play -_-, not sure how would that be in US$ Dollars though <<; ). How much does it cost (in any currency you state in ;p) you per token o_O at you place RedSuns? It might be even cheaper ^^ than most other people (Universally =p) have to pay for! (erm after taking how much you earn or gain (pay or allowance) into consideration ><)
recca: I love this anime and I tried to play the game 4 or 5 times a the arcade this is a fun game
Erm, could it because it's the car for Maya&Simone? erm I mean Mako Sato and Sayuki -_-;. I know several home boys and girls here who are fans of Initial D and drive the chars of the fav character ><. (including Iggy\Itsuki ^^!), Or maybe it looks damn good in purple ^^?
panterna: sil80 user here..tho' in real life i drive an r32
^_^ Sil80s, meh me tempted to go play with a Sil80 ><!
*chugs down another mug of coffee and heads off to bed before he rambles even more -_-;*
Well after you complete the customization, you sometimes get random parts to trade for. I switched my rear wings to the initial d type. My muffler is initial d type as well.

I wish I could play Initial D: Arcade stage, they replaced all arcade halls with gamblings halls here :(
Is Bunta's Impreza WRX STi in the game??
I don't go to arcades, but I'm just curious because I drive a WRX myself (not a STi, though).

Despite my nick and avatar.
I never played the arcade game. I just couldn't find the time or money to go and play.
Owned the PC game, but it sucked... finish the whole thing in a few hours.
Maybe i should go and try it this holiday season.

woo. i also an IDAS fan here. Driving Rx-8 :p

Orka, the buntamobile is still in =p. Damn, i love that car but not as much as I love my AE86..lol. (oh yea btw, I play Maple too...lol)
The only time i hate the Buntamobile is in the Bunta Challange <<, i couldnt get pass him Level 11 in AKina and level 12 in Usui -_-. he's just plain fast and has great blocking skills. (it doesnt seem obvious but he does block, more often than most people think =p!)
hmmm, MR2, never drove try those before. As for the RX-8, man it's sweet =p, it's has this nice grippy feel on the road sometimes, not forgetting those sleek curves. Anyone else thinks it looks kinda, polygonish =p in IDAS 3 from certain angles. Maybe it's just me at times, but gotta give credit to that car ^^.
Side Note: I thought this thread sorta died out ;p. Oh well. let's keep it alive! Long live IDAS!

u wont 1 to try the rx-8 on akina :P
btw all cars should be able to beat bunta on usui. 15 star timing is around 2'51 - 2'52
Bunta's G8CV(WRX) is in both Ver.2 and 3, but there's a secret code to get it. ;p
I currently drive a Sil-80(My best car), An FC(Ryosuke's RX-7), and Bunta's Sexy WRX
I like his WRX only because it's the ultimate all-rounder car. It has no bad track and it's an above average car. The easier to beat it is probably using the certain course's car when racing against it. :p

I've found the FD (Keisuke's) to be a fairly good car for most of the courses, although it seems in v3 that the 4/AWD's have the advantage most of the time. Even though the RX-8 is 'technically' the best car, it has its significant weak spots. The Evo IV works pretty well for me all around.

I think Bunta goes way much more faster that 2:51-2:52 in Usui =p, it's kinda like 2:49 to me at 15 -_-;;. Then again it must be just me, with my AE86 Trueno personal tune =p *see previous\earlier posts*.
I seem to have a pure grudge over certain cars =p. *cough* Evos, Skylines *cough* (no offence =p). It's just that everyone over here uses those series (as in Evo 3 so on, Skyline BNR32,BNR34) =p. Kinda depressing for me (in a way) since they are very few players here who are willing to duke skills and techique for the fun of the game. I really wished there were more people here who are more into skill and technique duels. (mainly boost off =p and all). Though we are few, losing to each other means we gotta improve. That's the way to play the game! (oh okay...i said that because the arcades I lurk in, is swarmed with players who are just plain sore losers. So you beat a guy 6 times, he chosed 5 of the tracks to duke you in and claims you cheating? How lame is that? Just because I played boost off in the matches before doesnt mean he has to join in the match with boost off too <<;. He requested it to be boost off even.) Some people even have the thoughts of boost off is for wimps <<;. Gee, so boost that gives you advantage if you're behind your opponent is "fair"? (I would say it's fair if it's in a track or condition where the car behind has a disadvantage, Of course i would boost off is a fair show of who has the better skills provided the track and condition is a fair and reasonable place to test the mettle of two racers, even if both of the cars runs poorly on the track =p.)
There's been a huge increase in players in the arcade I normally lurk in, since they dropped the per game prices. Met quite a few sweet IDAS3 players who really honour skills and the driver throughout the year (rather than the car and track) and a whole load "buncha" of people who cares are just winnings, unfair play and wont accept defeat -_-.
Sorry for the rant, just wanted to find people who plays by the skills and technique. Kinda mad at the people at the local arcade =p today. But not all is bad though, Rack up a nice amount of victories and with a minor 2 losses. That's one way to approach the new year =p!
Happy New Year 2005! (in advance) to everyone especially IDAS fans everywhere! May the year to come is to be another year to be remembered!
I use Bunta WRX. I thought that his WRX was fast, but really it was not. Beating him made me go happy thinking that I will get to have his super fast car, but it really disappointed me that the WRX is slow.

the evo's in the game are the best now for version 3 it used to be the integra from version 2. Evo IV(4) is the fastest car on irohazaka and EvoIII(3) is probly the best car in the game. 4/AWD's do have the advantage on all the maps in version 3. I drive an mazda rx-7 (keisuke) and it works out pretty well for me on akagi's downhill wet but one thing is for sure the 4/AWD's got the advantages i cant beat evo's on take off but i can overtake them alter on in the game. i found out that the capucciono has turbo.... yeah crazy.

Statistically, RX-8's the best car in the game. The car's 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gears are crazy quick. The only obstacle you have to overcome is the car's understeer.
Well its pretty simple. All 6 speed cars have better acceleration but lack in handling.
All 5 speed cars have better handling but lack in acceleration.
As for Bunta's Usui time, I do not think he goes faster than 2:51 but I haven't seen this person play Usui Bunta lv 15 in awhile now. One of Canada's fastest racers plays in the arcade I am at and he likes to bust up lv 15 usui buntas for 12k a race to full tune his cars.
Evo 4 is an excellent car of course but always remember that Akina is an Evo's worst nightmare.
Skylines... erm... No one really plays Skyline around my arcade that's for sure unless you were interested in playing in Myogi.
GC8V is quite popular as well since it has good acceleration and handling is pretty good as far as I am concerned. However versus GDB, GDB has better acceleration but poorer handling.

My Car List
Version 3
BUNTA: Subaru Impreza WRX Type R (GC8V)
Points: 3,000,000 (somewhere around there)
SIGH: Mazda RX-7 Type R (FD3S) {Current Car}
Points: 1,000,000 (somewhere around there)
BakUP: Suzuki Cappachino (SOOOOOOO FUN to drive)
Points: 100,000 (somwhere around there)
Version 2
TAK: Toyota Trueno GT-APEX (AE86)
Points: 1,500,000 (too lazy to transfer........also broke)
Where do you guys play? I haven't played in a while so I don't know whats up. I also agree with KSJ as a GC8V driver, acceleration is ok until you hit fifth unless I was doing it wrong the whole time I was playing. I don't really play anymore since the money factor has come in as well as school, but sometimes people would just line up all their cards on top of the machine (like 20 of them) and just start playing till every card is gone.....::clutches fists:: boy i want to kick the crap out of those guys.
well i used to play sil80 until i decided to switch to FD3SV. I still suck though.

i just started playing this game. can anyone give me some tips.
Well when you begin the most important thing is to learn to control your car.
then i would watch other players and look for a line you could use when you drive that course
then i would learn to do in out turns
spookz
04-11-2005, 07:59 PM
some tips for pow155:
- drive with two hands
- learn correct lines
- use brakes effectively you cannot in any circumstance except for myogi can u increase your time without braking effectively
- learn the correct shift points of your car this is vital to ver3 battles because leading cars usually win due to new block effects
-memorize the courses
-learn what cars has what home course
-learn NOT to play only on your home course because its stacked if you only play opponents on your home course
-DO NOT GET TOP TIER CARS JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE FAST if you dont like the car you drive you won't enjoy the game
-apex most turns to maximize wide open throttles and close distance
-ONLY I MEAN ONLY BUY PARTS WHEN YOU ARE FULL TUNED car (990 000 points)
I got another tip.
Learn to do in out in out in or known as flip turns.

I started on ver 3 too... using FD with Keisuke's setup (i am clueless abt the tuning part)
The FD handles nice... a good thing to know when playing the game is that style, line and technique all goes hand-in-hand
the best technique so far that can be learnt is the feint turn
I generally prefer to attack the curve on the inside, not too good for hairpins at Akina so i need to adjust my technique for that part....
the fustrating part is the difficulty of the game mistakes are so costly u dun even see the com anywhere near u (i am still a beginner do guide me along)

dun be like me and pick auto transimission (bad idea) use manual (u might need to get used to it cos u need to time it correctly or u wun get enough power out of the engine)
decide the car u want without thinking of ratings....
if u are not confident of the track run it on time attack to get familiar and work out a race line that works for u and ur car....
thats all i can say the rest is learnt on the spot while playing....

Basically the AE86 would be easily outrun in this game, but since it's arcade I'd guess that it goes pretty well there too then. Otherwise there'd be no reason to chose the AE86.
Makes me remember of a friend that followed another friends newly bought GTR 33 in the curvy small roads. With his Mazda 323 Combi 88 Brutal :P Horse Power. Imagine how crazy you'd have to try to keep up with an GTR33 that pushes it to the limit, even tough the GTR driver reaaaalllyy sucks at driving.
