Has anyone been getting the Gold saint Bandai myth cloths?
it seems to me there's a high number of minor defects with this line, warped parts, some painting mistakes like crosseyed er eyes.
Anyone got any more information on this? Besides the defects, if you can find one which isn't deformed somehow, they're absolutely beautiful! I must have all twelve Gold saints!!
I'd get the bronze saints too but only in their original clothes, I'm not so keen on their updated ones. I think it's down to the fact that the original cloths symbolise Saint Seiya more to me than the newer ones

I haven't heard of any defect in the mith cloth series,
I'm a big fan of SS , and read news from different sites and no one said anything about defect, everyone says they are absolutely perfect.
The first cloth series is not part of the Mith Series, they were first made for de US market an after that released in japan,
the Mith series starts with the second cloth of bronce saints
have you seen radamanthis cloth and seiyas 3rd cloth, they are absolutly glorious

Any opinions on lesser characters you'd like to get the Myth cloth treatment?
I was seriously hoping for a Roshi figure to come with the upcoming Libra (http://www.tamashii.jp/etc/sss_12.html) cloth but alas it is not to be :(
It'd be nice to see the Crystal saint or Albireo. I'd add Ohko to the list even though he has no cloth but I suspect that Libra was altered after Kurumada saw the anime and liked the chracter design. Just a guess. I hope Libra has the toger tattoo on his back. it'd be a grave mistake to omit it.
Although I don't know how their popularity stands with fans. I hear the more hardcore won't deviate from the manga one bit. But I liked the additions. (although yeah I don't understand why some of the manga story was totally altered or left out. Especially poseidon)
By the way I'm well aware there isn't a myth cloth selection of the original cloths. I was just saying I'd prefer them over the newer versions. Not merely nostalgically but also aesthetically. The evolved bronze cloths were too chunky and lacked the design sense other older cloths had. If anything they resembled the crappy chunky original design of the Saggitarius cloth in the anime, you know before it sank to the bottom of a lake and miraculously looked beautiful the next season :)

The radamanthis figure has a really long neck, it looks pretty ugly without the helmet or the cloth entirely, other than that, the wyvern object looks pretty good. On the other hand, i cant really tell how good the other figure (of seiya) is, i mean it looks pretty good and all but i want to know how theyll use the cloth to form the final pegasus object. It a pity that they didnt release enough of these myth cloth figures otherwise id get them all.

Oh yeah, and i also like how they included the red arm straps for seiya, it adds that extra detail to the figure

If you weren't aware or missed the link the official site is HERE (http://www.tamashii.jp/etc/sss_main.html)
You can see the pegasus cloth in objet form. and the other ones for that matter.
All the figures have long and slim features, but I can see that's because they have to carry the somewhat large armour parts. and for the most part they aren't really designed to stand around bare. It's also excusable if you bear in mind they're meant to be youngish anyway.
However the bronze myth saints have some custom clothing released for them - not by Bandai, which I've seen around which suits them really well! Now if only I could get the non cloth armour that Aioros and Aiolia wear.
Some armour parts worry me a little, - like the arm braces, since they remain in place either hanging loosely- not a problem, or being held by the fricton of tightness against the doll/figure itself.
Also worrysome is the fact that the plastic parts feel so brittle, which is worsened by certain engineering, like pins and holes- where one part is plastic and the other diecast, or clips with a similar setup, where the clip is plastic and the rod that attatches is diecast. It makes you feel like you shouldn't move or remove the armour much for fear of breakage. The feeling removes a bit of the fun of posing them.
ALso the elbow joint strikes me as a little thin and flimsy.
Aesthetically they're beautiful, with wonderful detail, and articulation, the addition of the cloth restricts movement only a little if at all, the only major restriction being the torso, since all torsos have a joint allowing a forward hunch.
Interestingly, though I can't tell if it's deliberate yet all the dolls vary in height appropriately. The real test will be when they release Aldebaron. I hope they don't shrink him given his size.
Another point of note is that the gold saints differ in their colour of gold, Capricorn has a considerably paler hue. Whereas Sagittarius has the usual deep orange yellow gold.
I'll add more analysis as I collect.

Hmmm don't know what the interest is in these here, but I've managed to get Libra and Wyvern since I last posted. Nothing much to say, they're still great.
Libra's hair is a little big. I woul hav preferred hair closer to Ohko's since that's pretty obviously where the inspiration for Dohko came from anyway. Oh his body is green, rather than bare chested, so it doesn't have the tiger tattoo- something of a disappointment for me really, but I can always alter it if i'm feel motivated enough. Oh and no extra Roshi figure dammit!! Though it's understandable given the bits and pieces libra's cloth has., Pretty much each weapon is doubled in small and open mode.
I think I can alter a yoda figure to be Roshi actually hmmm.

Am I the only one to find weird that they didn't make gemini saga?
and if you buy the ps2 of saint seiya there is a special figurine that you can get for 3500 yen... it is the pope sion with a cape hiding the gold ares armor... there is like 3 heads that you can change (pope helmet, sion head no helmet, sion with helmet)

What's weird? they haven't made Gemini at all so far, so it must be getting a later release. I'm looking forward to Scorpio Milo. Afer Shura's appropriately over the top hair sculpt, Deathmask's hair seemed tame and less wild than it should have been. I'm hoping they don't start going in that slightly more realistic direction.

Update having now bought Milo but having missed ordering Mu.
However I've devided against getting Mu off ebay at varyingly inflated prices because it now appears that Bandai are cycling their production since it became possible to get some of the first gold saints (not now of course they get sold out pretty quickly in general).
Oh and be ultra careful of construction, I realised that I'd scratched some Gold off a plastic part of Shura when a diecast part had been placed backwards. It's not visible when the armour is all on but i know it's there and that bugs me a little.
Issues with Milo?
Hmm well it appears he has the same problem as Leo in that the tail of his skirting is a separate prominent piece that sticks into the back of his torso armour by virtue or a couple of pins. What this means is that if your Saint should fall over backwards badly, then you risk breaking the tail piece off.
About the colour, it seems like Bandai have abandoned making the Gold Saints' gold different pretty hues which is disappointing. the past couple have been that deep yellow orange colour of gold. Personally I think of Scorpio as a lighter gold colour.
Additionally I'm worried about the wear on his scorpion tail. Which is a collection of several segments that connect via ball and socket joints into a fairly thin tail. I've already damaged the sting end so that it wouldn't hold on. Thankfully the sting looks too angled if you move it around in the socket so gluing it still doesn't impair the tail at all.
Milo's hair seems a little oddly moulded. There's a distinct chunk of hair on his right side that serves no aesthetic purpose, it just sticks out. In fact it serves no purpose at all. What's going on?
aah on more quibble it seems to me that Milo should be bare chested, but we've got that green body turning up again.
Taurus looks to be appropriately resized and they're releasing Final cloth versions of the Seiya team. Better than the previous cloth designs, but do we really want another Seiya? Ah and I think the also-ran team will be getting release. I'm almost tempted to get Wolf Nachi so that I can spend about an hour drawing out his ludicrously lengthy transformation sequence. PERFECT!!!

Hmm I don't know what the hell is going on with the choice of gold colours in this series. Aldebaran has been given the paler hue of gold. Surely he should be the orangey gold?
Anyway he's suitably massive. And somehow still in the same size box as the series, Although he's SIGNIFICANTLY heavier. You appreciate his size more when you have him.they packed him with his feet detached in order to fit him in the box.
I also got the promotional Pope Shion, which is little more than the pope helmet and clothing and a bunch of stands for our heroes, so that there's no chance of them falling over and snapping bits off anymore WAHEY. You'll have to Spray the pope's face gold though since they've only given you a black head and a Shion head. Presumiably you're supposed to decapitate Mu and Steal his body to have Shion aries. But frankly, who doesn't prefer Mu-sama?
The promo seems a bit pointless to be fair. Gemini is going to come with the evil Pope garb which will likelycomprise of the same helmet sculpt and robe.

I heard shiryu's dragon cloth does not snap together properly, wonder if it's true.

Gah I haven't had the internet in a while, but I'm near the complete gold saint collection, just Aphrodite to go. gemini is incredible, coming with a second black body and a couple of heads for Kanon/Saga/Pope/blackfaceless, and a whole bunch of stuff, including the knife for killing the baby of your choice, and huge spiky pope shoulder pads and pope helmet. Really impressive.
I just can't be bothered to unpack them really until I have a suitable grecian ruins display recreating the sanctuary road.
In reply to the above comment, as I've porobably indicated before, some of the connections are a bit finnicky and you need to be careful about pins clips and bits and pieces. I doubt very much that any cloth in this series doesn't snap together probably it's more likely a defective part in my limited opinion. (I had to exchange a warped Shaka diecast chestplate part too)
However I'd like to add, WHY would you want Shiryu are any of the main bronze teams upgrade (silver?) cloths? Besides Hyoga and Ikki's recolours, the redesigns are clumsy, blocky, look a bit crap and frankly aren't used in the iconic moments of Seiya history.
What I find weird is that we still haven't got bronzes of the original team yet they're releasing the also-ran team. Additionally they're also releasing Orpheus/Mime (same cloth design anyway) which I'm tempted by just becasue I'm always tempted by the cool saints or ones with special music. Albiore, the Crystal Saint, hell even Ohko. and of course "kickemwhiletheirdownandtaketheglory" Zelos
Oh and how about A release of "crazybutIlikeit" Shaina or Marin huh? Or a special release of the original blocky sagittarius design? not that I'd want it, but more avid collectors might find it desirable
