What do you prefer, game worlds, where you can do anything/be anyone, anime worlds where you do get the girl, and you can use magical powers to save the world, etc.

or reality. where...um...

well...

do what you can in reality.

i.e. would you trade your reality for a game/anime type one?

Maybe.. I remember having dreams of some hidden dungeon in Zelda Ocarina of time, a few days after starting playing it :D.
Some worlds are pretty addictive :p

If one don't like the world he live in, he would prefer to flee to another world to have a new start. but the ones who already succeed always afraid to have changes.

Trade in my real life for an anime world. I don't think so, I like to go back as well. Maybe for a vacation like in the option. I wanna see the sunshine with my own eyes . And if it had to be an anime world then I prefer a H related anime world. :D.

Yes!! I would totally trade it in, everytime I dream about something like this its like a teaser of what could happen if such a thing were possible. Just thinking about the possibilities, it's just a lot better than this real life stuff. Intead of getting my degree in computers, I could be a blacksmith or just an adventurer. ...I daydream alot.

Like I said I was gonna trade reality for the game/anime world but someting is always messed up and you always gotta fix it...I know it sounds like the real world but the world always needs savin the princess cant do self defense to save her soul some unholy terror or tyrant always wants to smite the world can't I just have the perks and the girl without the savin humanity crap?!

I have a lot of fun in the real world, but I would exchange real life for a realistic world, main reason would be I wouldn't have that much obligations :o.

Only other different thing would be I wouldn't be able to die. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing... Still a good thing for me (might change if I've lived for 500 years and I'm still killing Like Like's or something in a Video Game world :D).

lol yeah...but if u can recall...Freedom was the name given to the gundam by Patrick Zala and..him along rawl le kruze...(lol can't spell)...were pretty much the Main threat...along with the EAF...in gundam seed......only good guys were Orb, and the Archangel and the Eternal........
not to mention I doubt villians really care what their name is....

This of course would only be the case if you became the sole protagonist of your respective fantasy world. What about simply residing in it, I mean, you don't have to be the one that saves the princess after all.
On the other hand, I think I would prefer dealing with fantasy world problems as opposed to real life ones. I don't mind going on a journey to save the world from an evil tyrant because it beats filing accounts received documents. If there is always something to fix, you never get bored ;)

i prefer to bite reality. anime/game worlds are fun while it last. being the hero or the villian is just too scripted. if i do happened to get zapped into one, i prefer to be the side character. one that you dont often see but you know they're there.

You would change real life for a life in a dungeon? That's ... peculiar ... -_-
:p

For my part: It depends on the game/anime/manga. I definitely wouldn't want to live in a world like Blame! But switching positions with Keitaro in Love Hina is fine. But I wouldn't stick to the script, I don't like to be beaten up by girls ... :D

There are lots of things to do, not only dungeons, you can ride your horse in the valley too, go swimming, throw bombs at people.. :p

Nah, if I were to trade for a fantasy world it would have to be Hyrule and its surrounds - when you were threatened by the latest big bad boss monster all you'd need to hand is the last piece of crap you picked up and haven't found a use for (hookshot, hammer, chewing gum, two week old lottery ticket etc.)

Well lets see... if the reason I watch anime is to get out of reality and forget my sucky personal life around me, -which it is- than of course and without a doubt...

I watch and play to forget... and the next level of that would be actaully living in which I'm watching/playing :)

-This would apply to select games/anime-

I voted no because real life is sweet despite the the many bitter events that plague humanity. Now having said that, I wouldn't mind bringing some anime characters into our world to hang out with just for fun.

Imagine the looks Genma Saotome would get when splashed with water at the local mall.

depends entirely on the anime world. in some like yu yu hakusho, sailor moon, dbz, etc. you have to worry about the villain of the week blowing up the planet, demons stealing your energy and sucking the life out of you or massive swarms of demon insects. being a redshirt (cookie for the reference) would really suck in those types of worlds. on the other hand something like love hina or even ranma might be more tolerable in comparison.

game universes would just plain suck, as they usually focus on majorly big end of the world stuff where tons of people save the protagonist wind up as either potential cannon fodder or hapless victims. only really good thing would be is if you wound up with some type of major super powers out of the deal. otherwise the vast majority of anime/videogame worlds would simply be too hazardous.

had to say unless you are sure that when you come in the anime/game world ,you are the main character .or at least play some seenable role in it .Else that makes no different with you life now .(well, somebody still had to become shopkeeper or farmer in the world)
And another thing is you must know whether you can be resurrected or not when you die .^^

hell yeah i would give up reality for the anime/game world. hell, when this "reality" of ours lets us have five-story mechs, then i would be happy. i would mainly be interested is mecha genres of anime and games. think of all the fun toys that u get to play with!

Maybe I'm crazy -- but I did have one "dream" where I was able to enter a real, honest-to-goodness space opera-type world where I was a high ranking naval officer with a pretty girl who looks up to me and likes me. Everything was great.

Then, it happened, while the girl and I were in my quarters, I felt myself dying in the "real" world on my bed -- my heart was slowly coming to a stop, and I had stopped breathing. But, somehow, I knew that it doesn't necessarily matter -- if I had "died," my conciousness would stay in this other world, in this other body -- I wouldn't really be dead in both places.

Still, as I looked at her sitting on my bed, I couldn't help but feel that her adoration of me was nothing but hero worship, that my importance in this world would fade away once the war is over. After all, nobody liked a war hero when there was no war.

So, I bid her farewell, despite her pleas for me to stay, and returned to this world. Gasping for breath, slightly cold, but with a normal heartbeat once more.

I can't say I'd never ever even consider entering other worlds, since I have. But I do like this reality better.

Such things can happen if you're out of air, the danger reach your dreams, and you wake up, I had those a few times ^^. It's like when you've a dream with sirens just to give an explanation to your alarm clock, I guess.

As much as I like life, I'd trade it for a anime/video game world without hesitation. My reasoning should be pretty obvious -- those worlds are designed to kick as much ass as possible. This one is not. I rest my case. :p

For some vacations where I could do whatever I wanted to and then just load an earlier savestate I could have some fun at the beach.

And even for real life that would be quite good... I would really like to have savestates just now... so I could change what I wrote to a girl...

But you learn from experience, nothing else.

I'd just visit. Frankly it makes a huge difference which world you're in, and which character you are. A lot of them, you're either the main character and totally stressed out from tons of ridiculous enemies, or you're a nobody who disappears when goku sneezes and accidentally blows up the planet :) Maybe a manga world would be nice though, like "Sunlight All Around" by that Touch guy... If I was in the berzerk world I'd just kill myself before something REALLY horrible happened though. Anyway I have psychotically vivid dreams for some reason, so I get to visit the anime world of my (subconscious) choice every morning when I go to sleep, muahaha!

and i feel much like this girl in the 1st episode of Lain...

Actually i would like leave this world forever even if i could live in a fantasy world just for a day.

i dunno......... i am more of an anime character than a functional person... in fact alot of people think the same thing... they say that if i were the star of an anime show... then they would understand me better... ^^;

hmm
Depends on the game
something like Harvest Moon wouldnt be much different than reality (yet it had me adicted for a while, go figure)
to me it is 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other, would anything out there be more/less dangerous than reality? H-games aside (main worry there is paternity lawsuits)

A temporary vacation in an action game to kick some @$$ would be fun though. (godmode enabled most likley)

I think most people want to escape for a little while, thats why theres cosplay. As for the games I'd like to play, any of the hentai games would be a dream, and can I play certain parts over and over again :).

Not permanately, but fun to do for a while.
Anyone thought of .Hack//Sign when they saw this thread?

Anyone thought of .Hack//Sign when they saw this thread? Imo .Hack//Sign's concept isn't great at all. It's rather boring.

Why?

Because .Hack//Sign's is merely a fantasy universe filled with the same boring and annoying people.
But am I not one of these people? I suppose so.
Thus I would go in anime/fantasy world to live only if i could become someone/something else, not just take someone's place.
Playing a role of a character you like without his/her past and soul... i wouldn't like to live as a fake.
In the latter case I would choose to go in X1999 as Yuzuriha, right before... you know...
especially if she could live on in her dream world then.

Real life sucks!! I wanna go to a fantasy world forever! :)
Something with Swords and Magic will be nice. In particulary I would like to be in the Slayers World, I would learn powerfulls spells and would meet Shillfield! :D Or in the world of Suikoden II.

Or maybe some Sci-Fi world, like Macross or Star Wars. :)

I really enjoy my life.

However I wouldn't mind some sort of total virtual reality to let me actually get in my game, like being able to jump four times, move around in the air and shoot people with a Flak Cannon... without having the ability to be winded.. or pain.. well.. maybe a little.. just to tell you you got hit. :p

well the thought of it is nice, but my life doesn't suck or Im miserable to the point where I'd like to hop into the computer/TV screen or manga to live out my life. I got good stuff happening for me here on EARTH and that won't change unless I take a dive for the worst, but it would be nice to meet Cloud strife, or even live the life of one of those lucky H-game guys....

Since people keep getting shot, crushed, stabbed, slashed with swords, burned, tentacle-raped, gang-raped, pissed on, shat on, cannibalized, or otherwise "mistreated" in so much of the anime/VG world...

I'll take my chances with real life. Sure, that kinda crap happens here too, but with so many more characters, there's a good chance that it won't happen to me.

Unless the anime happens to be Space Runaway Ideon. *shudders*

It depend on if I can chose which game/anime I can switch with. Like if it something like grand theft auto I think I wouldnt want it to be permant (too many enemies). As for animes well let just say if I was in Pokemon, their would a lot more guns and a lot more interesting.

Also can we switich our life with an hentai game or anime......

yeah, I'd go, I'd stay. I have pretty much done that already, I just haven't... left reality yet.

My life is pretty rough right now, so I wouldn't mind. In fact, even when my life is good, I wouldn't mind going. I just like the fantasy world too much.

I would live in a game-anime world. In real life you have no control over your life, and you have to work for a living in a dead in job.

In a anime-game world you have total control over your life, and you can adventure for a job.

Most definately not, anime and games worlds are way too predictable.
I prefer to try and sculpt my own way of living so reality FTW :kakashi:

Anything, just get me the hell out of reality. I don't even care if a have to rape little girls in the process (which I am not a fan of, btw).
Just get me. THE HELL. outta here.

I'll stay with the real world. I don't need someone to construct an anime/videogame world for me. That would be about as exciting as an amusement park. If I need fantasy, there's always vacation, cosplay, teledildonics, BDSM, and adult entertainment.

Did I hear that last sentence right?

I would stick in the real world, however, as home is where your friends and families are.

If you have a positive outlook to life, the real world has a lot to offer.

I for one like the real world, and I know where to look to find the things that interest me.

Though a vacation in the anime world might be of interest.

All in all I would choose to only be there for a certain amount of time.

One, reason being is a scenarios like: going back into the real world, after a ridiculous amount of time in the Anime world; trying to jump over buildings to get to school on time; realizing that I'm in the real word; and proceed to go splat on a cement sidewalk)

The other reason is that, like many other things, is that when I go and watch an anime, I see a place that is so cool that I would do anything to get to it. Yet after 30min I jump back into reality and then figure out what to do until another anime show comes on. There is the wanting to be in an Anime world that partially makes anime so unique.

If I traded the real world with an Anime world, heck yea it will be cool! I mean, I could fly, destroy the earth unlimited amounts of time, control robots, fight bad guys, get laid...alot. But after awhile things will become boring. There is no real urge to do the things that you wanted to do when you watched the Animes in real life. Having too much of something wears down the want of it. Its kind of like cake.

Yes, cake is good. Now let imagine that you are stuck in a place where the only food that is available is cake. So, you proceed to eat the 1st cake. It is tasty. Then the 2nd cake etc. But after you eat the 15th cake you get sick of cake. But, it is the only food around so you are forced to eat it.

I don't want to trade the real world for the Anime world and live there to the point when I would want to turn on the TV and watch an episode that is set in the real world...

(also, spell check is unavailable to me atm, so bear with my spelling errors.)

I'll stick with an anime-game world that's like reality with certain interesting elements found in games and anime. Something along the lines of magic. Nothing post-apocalyptic or world dominating though. Reality rarely "really" surprises me anymore.

You should've asked something different.

"Would you want to trade your life with someone else's?" would be the better question as that's what people in this thread are replying to.
As for me, I very much like my average life in the middle class.

although fun to live in anime n games, i still love real world.... with it's bittersweet experience, rerun anime, sh*tty badass-wannabe, n various manga :p let's not forget some real echii stuff too :o

it's better to have a painful reality than having a sweet fantasy

I'll just have to shape this world according to my fave H-games and everything should be fine owwww yeeah :D

I wouldn't trade. Maybe just for a vecation because I might have many enemies in the other world. I might die and I won't be able to come back to life again...

well only if theres one then id stay, but if its one per person then hell no, or will I keep my powers or something? also being the villain would be good, until you get a bunch of guys ganging on you for the loot :O
