I'm a newbie to this site. I came across this site because of the AG2 patches. But anyways before the Mame ROM emulator was completely banned I made a collection of many different ROMS. I have many U.S. and Japanese ROM's. PM me if interested. Or perhaps someone out there has a collection also and would like to trade? If someone could PM me and give me instructions on how this torrent thing works I would be willing to upload some of them upon request.

mame roms are relatively easy to get, especially from sites like emuasylum or edgeemu. and when was the mame emulator completely banned? i don't recall hearing about that at all. . .

MAME is not, and was not banned. In fact a new version of MAME32 was released a few days ago: http://www.classicgaming.com/mame32qa/ - DOS MAME and other variations: http://www.zophar.net/mame.html.

As for MAME ROM's, there are several torrents floating around with the complete ROM/CHD set (15GB+) - http://www.torrentsearch.us / keyword MAME - so that might be your best bet ;)

Actually, it was Nintendo's ROM that was banned from this site.

Rule #11:

Due to copyright issues, Hentai English Games, Nintendo Roms, and Microsoft Products are NOT permitted

Thanks for the update the last time I tried searching for mame roms I found out that they were considered piracy due to copyrights. I am sorry for my mis-information. I'm glad to see that roms are still available.

I am almost sure you can obtain the rom of street fighter III, but it is still a bad dump (the good dump of this one is not public). anyway, there is still no emulator for cps3 games, and the games isos are still not dumped.

for cvs, naomi is still not emulated on mame, but you can get a dreamcast for this game ^^U

a bad dump is when the rom (read only memory) obtained from a cabinet is corrupted or it was wrong extracted (readed and writed) from the original cartridge to another media where it can be edited and regrouped to make single files; a bad dump will have corrupted data even if it is well "procesed".

hey, i downloaded DOA++ for mame, but everytime i run it, i get this message that it doesn't work because there is some protection that hasn't been emulated. can anyone help me with this?
PS: i'm also looking for a ROM of Marvel vs Capcom. all the ones i find dont work

DOA ++ wont run on mame, or at least not at a decent speed. Barely runs on mame32. For DOA++ you might want to try Zinc, which is more adept at emulating 3d games, and you might actually get a playable framerate. I have no idea why you'd get an error w/ mame though, probably an incorrect dump or some silly bug. Anyways, 3d games really don't run well when emulated so I wouldn't even bother.

CVS2 and SF3 can both be emulated with chankast if you have a decent enough computer and a fair amount of luck. Chankast is not so picky on specs, but very picky on the hardware itself.

If you are looking for roms, don't try those sites, they are rather bad. I'd reccomend getting the rom packs on various torrent sites (torrentspy/mininova should both have it). They're uhh.. only 7 dvds. www.kaillera.com use to have a rom pack that had all the worthwhile roms in it, don't know if the torrent is still up - worth a look.

Heh. The CPS3 roms have been dumped, the problem is no one has cracked CPS3's encryption (then there's also the fact that the hardware boards are fragile as glass and hard to run tests on). It's said to be impossible (though the CPS2 encryption was said to be impossible, and it was cracked...) to crack, but we'll just have to wait and see.

The only real "requirement" for Chankast to run is getting Daemon Tools 3.29 to work. If you get this to work, Chankast will run (how fast it will run is... well, hard to guess), albeit it may not run properly (leads to errors) with every graphic card. Chankast was specifically made to run with ATI, so if you have an ATI graphic card, chances are you're fine.

It runs pretty well for me, I'm using mame32 plus! and get about 50+ fps
this is with 2.8ghz p4 and a 9800pro

http://www.planetemu.net isn't bad either (it's in french but knowledge of the language isn't needed)
There is a delay between 2 downloads, so it's best when you want to pick a few ROMs.

Somebody knows where can i find some roms from anime or something like games based in animated series?

ha, did I ever mention i have like 3 copies of the sf3 romset, not that any of them work :P. Interesting to hear doa++ works for you, works like crap for me, and I figured none of the 3d games worked so I gave up.

Whoever asked for anime based roms: You can find some decent snes/n64/genesis/whatever roms, but arcade roms, there are scarce if any, and mostly suck. Of course, games like king of fighters and street fighter are largely associated with anime so they might suit your taste. If you happen toh ave a psx, you can get the jojo's bizarre adventure fighting game :DDD.

Damn The Gladiator:- Road To Sword by IGS is far from playable.. PGM games sure are hard to crack arent they. I hope the guy who works on Nebula gets this and other IGS games to work in the next version of Nebula. He did a great job with Knights Of Valour 2.

At least Groove On Fight (Power Instinct 3 not GLOVE On Fight) is playing better .
