Okay, here's my opinion. IF you can read Japanese snatch a Saturn. Some of the best RPGs ever made were released on that system. Many of them, however are in Japanese only.

It depends. I would just try harder looking for an emulator. Sega Saturn really isnt worth it unless you actually plan to play the good games.

Well I dont do emulators because my comp. is crap....
The highest thing it could play is gunbound....

Is it new? A new 1 for 20$ is a bergain if not don't do it. Why bother with an old sistem, that noone is doing any new games for? Just buy the new outruns for PS2. But if U must or If U like these retro ( :D ) games, just do it and its off of your mind.

Buy it and buy dragon force. It is worth every penny of it. If you can, buy Dragon Force 2 as well... another great game. Saturn has alot of decent games but if you wait a little more, i believe the emulator will be better. Personally, the emulator available for saturn sux.... unless i've been downloading the wrong ones...

get a second hand one, that has a modchip already installed, or install one yourself.
then it will be so worth it.

Don't bother buying a non-chipped Saturn in this day and age unless you plan on collecting Saturn games.
There are places you can buy a chipped Saturn from - Google it.

A Saturn in good shape for $20 is a good deal. I've seen them in used game stores for about $35 to $40. It depends on how much you wanna play that one game as to if you should get it, though. No sense in buying it if you're not interested in other titles.
I agree with what others said though, the Saturn had an AWESOME line up of RPG's in its day, and it's one of the few console systems that is not emulated on a PC.
Genesis, SEGA CD and Dreamcast we got via emus like AGES and Chankast, but no Saturn emu. Personally, I'd snap it up myself for only a Jackson, but that's only because I know of a ton of titles I'd like to play on it.

It's only really worth if you can understand japanese very well. If that's the case get a modded one, because the best games for it never left Japan (most of the games that were released in the US or Europe weren't that remarkable or are avaiable as upgraded versions on other consoles).
But warning, the Saturn itself may be cheap, but the games are definately not
