Or is this a bad idea?
Or those type of files are too large?

Because there are a lot of interesting Anime Flash shows out there. :D

There's an example of one:

http://takureihp.hp.infoseek.co.jp/Princess-azumanga.swf - 728KB Filesize.

They are too big atm. because we have really limited space on the server. The best way to do that is to post in the gallery forum and link it directly to the file it self. So peopel can still discuss it. I will try to make it possible in the feature.

If it would be possible you could set the gallery to limit things to only 10 flash files at any one time and then when someone tries to post an 11th one, the very first flash out of the first 10 is deleted and so on and so forth... I believe thats how those "chan" gallery sites go about it. But dunno if its possible with this script. Just an idea ^^;

i think is better for the member to decides which flash he/she (there's any more gender ? :D:D) will keep in those 10 instead of just discard the oldest

The point of our gallery is to keep all the Best Of the Best CGs out there in 1 gallery for members to browse and comment. So there is really no point of making it delete old one when new one comes. And the vote part will require more programing I will have to see in the future.

Hmm. In my opinion, that wouldn't really work, unless I'm misunderstanding ^^; ... because you might end up with 10 'popular' ones that just stay there for months if it goes by vote... The idea of deletion rotation is to allow new Flash files to go up that could potentially be a lot more popular than what others are currently 'deciding' to keep.
Besides lots of 'popular' Flash's get reposted anyway lots of times so you don't miss out on much when using that system.
Of course with CGs you wouldn't need deletion but with Flash files that are heavy on filesize etc. I think deletion would be understandable. Better than nothing perhaps ^^
But that's just my opinion ^^;;

The gallery is supporting flash now since we upgraded to dual xeon Server. Enjoy :)
