I am looking for some traditional japanese music and have no idea where to begin. Preferably with shamisens but just any pointers would be helpful because I can't find much info. cheers :)

I can help, if u have emule then u have an easy job, the best are the Yamato (mainly drums), but if u search for japan music there u can find lots of cds...

Hey hey! I've been also looking for traditional japanese music, to be more specific, music from japanese festivals(matsuri). Hmmm, you know, like the music from SNES's The Mistical Ninja(Ganbare Goemon), or the music you hear in the Kabuki theaters. I really like them. Do you know the name of this kind of music? It's almost totally instrumental. Hope you can help me out, thanks.
