Everybody here should get to preorderin' the AIR Blu-Ray Limited Edition Boxset. 250.00 USD for AIR Blu-Ray? Hellz Yeah. This might actually make me buy a PS3.
no way..i am not going to abandone my LE DVD set of AIR...a blu ray disc would be useless to me...
i only buy DVDs to make AMVs with DVD quality footage..
so far i do not even know of methods to correctly RIP Blu-RAY footage and implement correctly with Avisynth and Adobe Premiere Pro.

so no...dispite how nice the set is going to be, i will not switch to Blu-Ray until i am certain that it is the standard and prices for a ****ing blu-ray player are Lowered and the technology has been stablized..

WEll Ryolo , there is your picture...:) too bad i wasn't the one to show you

Nice stuff Chris, now all you gotta do is pre order that Zero no Tsukaima boxset from amazon!!!!!!!

HABEEB IT!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/gundamjehutykai/IMG_1381.jpg

Took me an age and a half to finish this resin kit but i'm fairly happy with how she turned out. She was much more work than any other kit i've built so far (chalk it up to a crap recast) but at least it gave me practice on how to use an airbrush effectively before going on to my next project, which will most likely be saber or Suzumiya haruhi. Probably Haruhi...

btw, do we have any sub board or thread where ppl can place some constructive criticisms on other ppls works? I still can't do a very good job on eyes...

Bought my most expensive item of YJA. My somewhat holy grail resin kit- 1/4 scale Rei Ayanami by Volks (http://www.volks.co.jp/jp/ff/items/ev01rei/index.html). This sucker is huge and heavy! But worth every penny or Y100 coin :D

The eyes looks ok from the picture. Overall it looks great. However some of the parts you might've needed to sand it down further. Can see little bits sticking out on the hair and etc which detracts from the end finish.

btw is making a garage kit difficult or not?

I really want to but the problem with this kit is that the hair is so thin, if I sand too much and/or too hard, the parts WILL break and it'll look even worse than it did before. The hair is way too thin and complex. As for the eyes, I can't do it so that 2 colours mix and fade into eachother. And it only looks ok from a distance. (plus, when I did my first paint job, she actually ended up crosseyed)

btw is making a garage kit difficult or not?

I wouldn't say that it's too hard, you just need patience and a good dose of confidence. And a fairly large wad of cash would help too. buying various tools and paints can get expensive. but the sense of satisfaction from completing a kit is great!

I think the figure is more suited to this board rather than the creative corner but i'm suprised that there isn't a sub board or club exclusively for figures in HF...

Well I think why not just create a new thread on comments on your own works and stuff like that. I mean a bragging thread is really just for bragging and if we put too many comments in there will be too many pages and too hard to follow. Well it is already long and hard to follow but at least we typically just post brags and don't end up with a lot of replys after that.

Try using a very sharp (surgically sharp) hobby knife and very very carefully and thinly slice it away rather than just plain sanding the spurs. Then sand it down lightly. That might be better than just simply sanding.

Your buddy should go back to English 101, Milkmandan. Or was he pissed off and serious at the time he typed those thoughts? *laughs*

Anyway, I still remember when a friend of mine came over to my house and suddenly noticed my new Kasumi PVC. The first thing he did was poke at her breasts with his pinkie. I had to slap his hand to have that finger removed from the figure.

While that kind of thing is typical from a shameless pervert, I think wanking is just silly. Skimming through a porn mag. would probably give better results and even that's poor compared to a crummy VHS tape hidden beneath your bed's mattress.

Honestly, how many of you folks have done it ? :P

nice figure adun....i was considering getting that one as well but i ended up not getting it...:\
dont know why, but the quality seems rather lacking, compared to the price that i would end up paying for...

the predestinate contract version (http://www.hlj.com/product/BET13053) seems better IMO...
oh well good buy none the less
---
anyways for all you Noizi Ito fans:

C70 had a lot of doujin circles that created numerous cloth towels (couple of Kanon and Planetarian ones were made)....one of them was a Nanatsuiro Drops MF towel. i am not exactly sure how large the towel is, but it is nice none the less...

Yes I got my shipment from SMJ. But my Kuga Natsuki figure need some glue job since a few parts fell apart and need a display base too so I can't take pictures of that yet. My Mikuru figure is missing both arms and the a few smaller parts (Don't know if it's lost during shipping or SMJ lost them. Surely it doesn't look like seller didn't send it), and I'm chasing SMJ on it so hopefully I get some kind of compensation back there. But I will post my Yujin SRDX Suiginto and Kanaria here.

So here's a shot of Suigintou.

I got the same black saber plushie few months ago, a set to go with my Rin that i got at Anime Expo 2006. I couldn't find the old Saber in normal clothing.

Anyways...
Well I got my order from Hobby Search yesturday.

The Moe-tan: Methodology of English Figure Set. I would call this a gasaphon set, but I don't think these came from machine.

I finally found my camera again and I finally found the "close-up focus picture" option. Picture's look a LOT nicer than my damn phone.

The complete set of the girls from Moe-tan: Methodology of English in mini-PVC figures. Very nice and extremely cute.

The complete set consists of 5 figures. Every single pose you see the girls in, is in the book itself (somewhere).

I was surprised this didn't break during shipping. HK-Gensen has terrible packing methods, it is a miracle this figure survived with no damages.

http://milkmandan.wordpress.com/files/2006/10/dsc02174.jpg
This took forever to put together. It was harder than legos! When I bought these mini-figures I was not expecting to have to assemble them. -_-

Bah, this figure looks like she is poking herself in the eye. She really is suppose to look like she's thinking.

Well that's about it. More stuff coming soon...like always.

I wanna see pictures of your Rozen Maiden Palm Figures...i got a set of RM figures off YJA, they may or may not be different...

Yes I have the black saber and to be honest, I thought it was a strange figure. When Saber turn into the black version, she was a lot more evil. The PVC look rather serene and calm which doesn't fit her dark persona. But it was still one of the best looking saber so I got it anyway.

isnt black saber only supposed to be a "black dress" version?

but then i wonder why is there a diff sword, then again where is the things on her face?

but then again it says Black Dress Ver. on the box haha

ryolo
10-25-2006, 07:48 AM
The "Black Dress" version is the dark saber. Normal saber has blue/green eyes. Dark Saber has yellow eyes. Also the sword is completely different. I suppose this is what you get if you get dark saber out of her armor. :D

Ok my words on getting a complete set from 1 box of gashapon (trading figures) has again proven true.
(following on from this (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1031064&postcount=386) post)

My lovely Xenosaga Legends arrived today.
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/xenosaga/IMG_0625s.jpg

Here they are all the lovelies in their packs. :)
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/xenosaga/IMG_0626s.jpg

At first I though there were only 5 variations as most of the sites I went to only showed 5. So I thought yay! Open 5 boxes and 5 different ones came out! :D See the 3 unopened boxes behind? :)
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/xenosaga/IMG_0627s.jpg

Then after a little research it appears there are actually 5 figures + 2 secret characters! So I though they must be in those 3 boxes!! So I opened up the rest of the boxes and here they are...
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/xenosaga/IMG_0633s.jpg

To my dissapointments they were the same ones as previous. :( Then after a little digging around, I found out what the secret characters are!! Ladies and gentlemen, spot the big difference between the 2 secret characters...
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/xenosaga/kosmosfinal.jpg
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/xenosaga/kosmosver1.jpg
Yup. The secret characters has Red eyes as opposed to Blue eyes... (or other way round, not sure).

And I have one extra character to spare. :)

Thus once again I have not yet been let down by buying a box of gashapon. :D :kakashi:

Received the following 3 Figures yesterday.

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/IMG_0640s.jpg
http://www.hlj.com/product/GDH02024
First off we have Amaha Masane from Witchblade, made by Gonzo (GDH).
This is the most discusting figure i've ever received. The eyes are poorly stucked on. The parts are poorly painted and fitted together. There are seam lines everywhere. Looks more like a knockoff than a genuine product. I ordered this from HLJ so I'm pretty certain that it is genuine. Very dissapointed in this PVC. Never buying anything from Gonzo ever again.

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/IMG_0639s.jpg
http://www.hlj.com/product/CAD01117
Secondly we have Yurika from Nadesico, as produced by Chara-Ani. Part of the Good Smile group. Beautiful figure as always by GSC group. The PVC is clean, the paintings are excellent and most importantly, it looks like Yurika. It captures the free spirited and carefree nature of Yurika very well. The pose, the smile, all of it comes together very nicely. The flowy hair is superb!

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/ryolo/Figures/IMG_0638s.jpg
http://www.hlj.com/product/MAX04053
Finally we have the best of the 3 from this lot I think. It's Chitose Nanbu from Amaenaideyo!. This is another PVC from my favourite Max Factory (also part of GSC). The figure is stunning. However the most interesting thing about this figure is that it comes with 4 tops variation. You can display her with a fully covered top, a semi open one as showned, a completely exposed boobs or completely topless. Although her pants doesn't come off, if you want to take a scalpel to it and remove her pants, she can be posed with only her panties. (Not that I've got any intention on doing this, but I have seen it on another website from someone who did) This goes to show that they actually built her from the inside out, painting everything and not missing any bits. She also comes with 2 sets of beeds for display.

icie
11-05-2006, 11:08 AM
Ah yes, that last figure. Very INTERESTING! ^^;

To remove her pants, one blogger had to "snap her in half" then put her back together. A nicely detailed figure if you are into the nudity thing. Good choice.

This is an awesome figure! =3
Cute & Highly detailed!

I was only able to get the normal edition in which her outfit is blue. Toranoana has a green ver & Amiami has red. I like the red best, but I didnt want to deal with a deputy service just to get it.

I first though she was way too endowed to be from that series, so I did some research.
HLJ has the info wrong, and she's actually an original character that was drawn on a telcard by Chikotamu:

Now that I have made it back to the states I can post my Shuffle! grabs. Been too long since my last posting here.

Last batch of DVDs, amiami exclusive Nerine figure, cellphone tags
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h185/endofanubis/IMGP2730.jpg

DreamParty stuff, and heat-reactive mug
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h185/endofanubis/IMGP2734.jpg

Microfiber Towels, Navel booth giveaways

Sage pillow cover, 2nd print Nerine big towel
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h185/endofanubis/IMGP2738.jpg

The differences in the Nerine big towel are in the packaging as well as the towel itself; better coloration and crispness.
The mug it neat but ended up paying more than I would have liked. That orange mask goes away when a hot liquid is poured in the cup.
I don't normally get telephone cards, but I couldn't say no to the Nerine/Lycoris one. Got two in fact.

Got some other DreamParty things, but nothing that glamorous. Found out that Maid Promotion Master got pushed back though....

Well I've been busy with work lately that I didn't have too much free time around to take photos of my new arrivals. However today I just received my Haruhi Bunny Girl pre-painted figure from e2046. Now obviously Haruhi deserves some time no matter how busy you are to take a few photos. I figure since I took my photo gears out, might as well take photos for all the rest. So here goes my list of recently accquired but not yet bragged about figures. :D

First up is two figure from Aria

Yujin SRDX Aria Company President Money Box

http://photo.vitsco.com/toys/aria/CRW_2753.jpg

And Toy's Works Mizinashi Akari 1/6 PVC with Aria Company President. :neko:

http://photo.vitsco.com/toys/aria/CRW_2758.jpg

More photos of the two on my Aria Figure's Page (Click Here) (http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=aria)

Second up is Yujin's SRDX Souseiseki PVC

More photo of Souseiseki on my Rozen Maiden Figure's Page (Click Here) (http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=rozen_maiden#2)

Then this figure is quiet old. I think it's from Wonder Festival 2005. This is New Line's Kuga Natsuki Rider's Version 1/6 Scale. I don't know why I got attracted to this figure but since I got a chance to grab this pre-painted one off YJA, I bid on it.

http://photo.vitsco.com/toys/mai_hime/CRW_2775.jpg

More photos of Natsuki on my Mai-HiME Figure's Page (Click Here) (http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=mai_hime)

Now here's the figure that started this big post and all. BUBBA's Haruhi Bunny Girl 1/7 Scale. I got this pre-painted version off e0246.

http://photo.vitsco.com/toys/haruhi/CRW_2796.jpg

Of course being this is the famed Haruhi Bunny Girl, there's a LOT of photos on my Haruhi Figure's Page (Click Here) (http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=haruhi)

I also got a bunch of other stuff but since they are not figures, I got lazy and didn't take pictures.

Yes I only placed the order after I see e2046 have the actual product's picture posted. From the look of that I figure it's probably worth the a little over $100 USD price tag. Turns out better than I expected.

They package it really well. The figure is shipped in a box with foam cut outs. The cut outs fits the figure really well. Nearly no assembly required only need to put up 4 small pieces, namely the two bunny ear and two riboon on the head. The other pieces are star shaped base and the guitar. I used EMS shipping and one knob on the guitar came off during the shipment. But nothing a little super glue won't fix. The guitar string obviously all suffers from the metal wire is too loose and goes all over the place problem. But then even if you build you own kit, this is still quiet a challenge to do well. The socks are still not glued well at places but over all it's better than what I expected for $100.

Anyway I would definitely recommend this pre-painted figure from e2046. Better than a lot of their other products for sure. It seems that e2046's "Gathering" products (This haruhi is one of them) all seems to be painted much better than their other pre-painted figure.

Even mine has problems with the guitar string, i need to press on the bridge a little to make the strings straight again.

Your lucky only a knob came off, a small part of her headband broke off mine, i dont know if i CAN super glue it back, the part is pretty damn small O_O lol
so small i didn't notice until after 15 mintues of gazing.

looking at your figure Fenix, makes me full of regret. should have saved a few hundred bucks and gotten a recast it looks just as nice >_<

feeling good though, cuz i do have the Gothic devil girl on pre-paint preorder, if it turns out as nice as your haurhi i will be VERY Happy.

Speaking of more Aria Company President money box, there's 3 new event limited edition of Aria Company President money box available at this year's Bishoujou Figure Convention in Tokyo.

Only 60 available. They look really cute heh.

You can never get enough Aria Shachou you know. I only have 3 right now (stuffed, money box and one came w/ Akari figure) but might get more if I can get my hand on those 3 event limited ones heh.

Just curious, why is ARIA so popular? the anime didn't really make me go "WHOOAAA impressive" or anything. pretty blue but that's about it

Well let's just say different people likes different things.

Dragon Ball is one of the top successful anime in terms of over all merchandise sales. And honestly I've never really liked Dragon Ball and I never go "Whooaa Impressive" even when I saw it when I was little. And personally I never spent a single penny on the Dragon Ball franchise.

Now on the other hand I like Aria. Yep Aria is pretty blue, that is, it is pretty and it's blue, just like the ocean. And I can spent a long time staring at the ocean just because it is pretty blue. Okay maybe playing with those words is not why I like Aria. Maybe I like it just because of Aria Shachou and I love cats. I can't tell for sure why I like Aria, but I spent quiet a bit of money on Aria merchandises, art books, figures, plushes, etc.

So I guess the answer to why Aria is popular is because people like it for their different reasons. And trust me Aria is not nearly as popular as Dragon Ball. Heh... And here I wonder why Dragon Ball is so popular too. >:D

Yeah. I've been reading that some sites have it set of release next Jan. And it's more than just one month late.. It must be months since it's ORIGINAL release date. ...Yet they've already apparently finished the translating for GAII vol 1...

BroUS.. Suck at release dates and stuff.

Yay! My figure from AniChara arrived today~
Shes a cutie =3

1/8 DearS Ren by Organic -Limited Ed Smile ver. Chara-ani-

I really liked the first version of the figure but didnt buy, cuz her facial expression looked so "duh".

Ren looks so much cuter when she smiles!

The figure comes in a huge box, with two authenticity stickers (small orange media works and the melon pan).
If you do pick either version of this figure up, just be aware that her long hair parts are VERY fragile.
If shes dropped at all, they will break for sure.

Some photos:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/100_2001.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/100_1999.jpg

I'm sure someone's mentioned it before, but if you go to ikea.com and look up their storage glass cases, they have one for like 75 dollars or something. I think it's worth it because it makes displaying that much nicer - to have some separate place to put them.

It's best if you go to the actual store and pick it up though (if ur lucky to have an ikea close).
The shipping for that thing is insane!

Having only one Ikea in VA that was 3hrs away, I just went to Value City Furniture and got a wood finish curio for $99, not too bad price-wise for a curio, and already assembled.

I was honestly surprised that it was pre-assembled.
I just attached the shelf pegs, the glass shelving, the door nob, and that was it.

If anyone is looking to buy one, now is the time! Holiday sales and all.

That's just the unstable nature of mass produced figures.
The producer Clayz decided to change the color of the outfit.
A seller isnt obligated to refund based on a manufacture error or change.

Clayz should get a complaint if any, but not the retailer they got it from.

Do you have more information about this decision by the manufacturer to change the colour?

I don't really mind black on white, but blue is so much more unusual, and it was unexpected, cuz even the box has it blue.

I didn't get the GSC maid saber cuz I already had this one on order, and this is 1/6 versus 1/8. That said, the GSC one looks nice.

From what I've seen, It seems the look of final product is usually at the discretion of the manufacturer. Though I could be wrong.

The actual kit by T's System is blue, but I guess Clayz preferred black.

Under the item description on many PVC maker sites, you'll see this note:

※掲載の写真は制作者オリジナルの塗装です。実際の商品とは若干異なっております。

It's basically a disclaimer:

Also, seeing as a disclaimer was posted, I doubt anyone in Japan will be rallying against Clayz for the color change.

Just got this today for about $20, not bad I've been looking around for a good deal on this one.

IT was alot smaller than I thought it would be even for a 1/8 or perhaps a 1/9th scale..

Ara ara ma ma...

Oh nice... I'm still trying to get YesAsia to get me that so I don't have to pay super high shipping from Amazon Japan heh. Hopefully I can get it. The only problem I have w/ the poster book is that I have no where to store it hah. It doesn't fit on my bookshelf so it has to be laid down flat. Oh well the posters are very nice none the less. Now I got to find time to photograph my Aika and Alica PVCs. ;)

I have that exact problem as well. I have nowhere to place it since it is large. If you want you can order this from HLJ as they have it in stock.

People seem to have the Alicia already. I got owned by HLJ as they went on holidays when it got released. So mine won't ship to me either today or sometime this week.

Okay so after seeing Adun50's Aria goodies I just had to sit down and take picture of all my new toys around the year end. Sorry, I'm making a long long post with loads of images, but one has to brag. ;D

First up is the official gothic devil girl cold cast completed figure from Clayz Moe~ru Matsuri 2006. Because the official price is 18,000 yen for the cold cast, I figure I'll buy an official one instead of getting it from e2046. I got this one from Yahoo Auction Japan and probably got it at one of the lowest price from over 25 figures sold on YJA so far. Lucky... It comes in a very nice wood box.

More photos with more close ups here. (Click on this link to view more photos (http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=misc))

Now the rest are all Aria goodies (hence the motivation after seeing Adun50's aria poster book).

First up is Yujin Aria Company President Money Box PVC Bishoujo Figure Convention 2006 Limited Edition. Limited 60 total and apparently you can only buy one per person. Of course had to hand out to the scalper on YJA to get the complete set. But I guess I have no complains since I can't get the full set even if I am in Japan. I now have these three and the regular one all four lined up together. Very cute.

I bought the 2 items from the discount section, and they were both selling for half price. For the gundam set, I've managed to not get any doubles, which was really nice. I think I got all of the special ones, if there are only 3.

Nice figure. The photos are good. Although I do suggest to take photo when the sun is lower. Say about ah hour after sun rise or before sun set. You have about a good hour worth of very smooth lighting that casts horizontally so you can light up the face, the so called golden hour. When the sun gets higher, the light is harsh and only lit up the top part while keep the face dark. If you rely 100% on natural lighting, that's the only time you can get enough light cast onto the face so the face doesn't look that dark. Of course if that's not possible, then I would suggest to get a flash and uses a little bit flash compensation to bring the face a bit brighter.

Ah well during this photo shoot, it also ended up being cloudy throughout parts of the shoot. Clouds make a great nature diffuser so I try to take photos then. A lot of the time I tend to do it about 1-2 hours before sunset but I might try the 1 hour after sunset.

Well if you are already close to the sunset time, then I guess there's no helping it. The figure is small so hard to get enough light on the face (unlike a regular human being). So in that case I guess a bit flash compensation would most definitely help. (Assuming you have an external flash and maybe even a cable so you can fire it off the camera) Dial in a low flash compensation will allow just a bit brighter face without introduce the harsh flash light. Before the days I have proper equipment I kept on just putting a thin sock over the flash even to diffuse it even more heh. Anyway keep up the good work. :kakashi:

They usually shove an air bag ( literally a bag filled with air ) or two in the box with my orders .
but I do have my orders with them sent by EMS ! so is this a case of preferential treatment ?

A nice figure arrived today from Boise River Collectibles (http://www.brcactionfigures.com/).

(Non Scale) Tsukasa Nanbu (Nambu in the USA) 17 Years Old by Yamato.

She's very nicely reproduced, and made by an excellent sculptor (Toria (http://www.geocities.jp/nadia_rx8/))!
I love the shading done on her ears and tail!
It was also hard to pass up her low price ($18)!

Also, it's always good to have more cute Nekomimi figures :D
Her skirt comes off by snapping the figure apart under the bra area.
She also has 2 other color variants.

Very nice stuff, Milkmandan. Nanoha looks very pretty, and reminds me a lot of Cardcaptor Sakura. I enjoyed the latter a lot (leaving its homosexual themes aside), so maybe it's time to give Nanoha a try. As much as I would like owning this figure, not knowing where it comes from and how the character is detracts me a bit.

Well, after a few weeks of delay, I finally received Iroha from TNT shipping service. It's still EMS though. This shipping service is pretty unique, before arriving at your house, they call you (have to provide them with phone #) and ask if you're at home, if not, then you can arrange a place right away to meet. A restaurant for example. I was shopping at the mall at the time, and I met him on the parking lot to receive the package. ^^;

As for Iroha, this one is a recast resin, and I paid commission to get it painted. This one won't have any leaning problems unlike it's PVC counterpart. ^^;

While taking pictures, I tried GameraBaenre's lightbox method, and I failed miserably. I think there's not enough light.

Her hair, sleeves, and stockings are actually dark blue (I asked for a blue tone), but in the pictures, they're black. >_>

For me, dolls are just better-articulated figures with flexible hair and clothes. Especially for the PureNeemo range, which look everything like high-end figures.

Not to mention you can put them into various creative poses. Note how the schoolgirl Aika is half-undressed. :P

I did but it just got shipped the other day from HLJ and won't be here for weeks because it was shipped SAL.

I received some more goodies this month and thought I would share. I would also like to thank NyanGurl for the heads-up on the Pinky St. figures, those were some really good deals. This first picture is of PSE Products Murata Range TT Butterfly (quite a nice figure). I haven't taken my Majikina Mina figure out of the box yet so there won't be any individual pics of her unless someone would like to request that I do so. Anyway here they are(click spoiler to see the rest);

It's in the mail to me. Hopefully I will have something up by next week. Although I personally would say that I will for sure like the up coming Max Factory 1/8 Mikuru figure better. It's a bit small at 1/8 but it looks better and will stand better right beside by my Max Factory 1/8 Haruhi. >:D

Really nice. I'm seriously planning on getting this now. Unfortunately, I can only find this on ebay. I haven't tried YJA yet, but I don't want to spend an arm or leg on a PVC figure. ^^;

How much did you buy for yours?

I found 3 items on ebay, but I'm really skeptical as to whether they're real or not. Only one of the items provided pictures that don't seem like stock pics.

Yes, there is a Typemoon hologram on the back of the box. But beware, most counterfeiters can duplicate holograms nowadays.

My mini haul from www.comiketservice.com
I've been out of the Doujinshi buying loop for quite a long time, and finally purchased a few books I'd had my eye on.

Gomokuttu #1:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/gomokucover.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/gomokutti.jpg
As usual with Gomoku and Mine's doujinshi, the book is printed on thick, high quality paper.
This volume contains Gomoku's illustrations for TechWin.
About 18 pages of Gomoku's cute girls are in glossy color
:D Very nice!

Angel Blade (Imagefap links NSFW):
http://www.imagefap.com/image.php?id=1091144500
http://www.imagefap.com/image.php?id=408736686
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/angelblade.jpg
I'd kept holding off on this one because of the high price tag (4000 yen).
Comiket has since placed a large amount of their inventory on major deep discount, so I picked this up at 1,400 yen.
This is mainly an animation refference book, that shows 40 color pages of characters profiles and transformations (which can be pretty graphic).
The book originally came with a 30 min VHS tape of the animation, but Comiket staff kindly left that out at my request, as a tape would be a huge waste of additional space, plus the animation is available on DVD domestic.
I love this book, as I'm a huge Masami Oobari fan!

Favorite:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/favoritecover.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/favorite.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/LilikaSayaku/favorite2.jpg
Not really a book I was after, but Comiket Service has a special right now in which they add an additional free book to your order.
Generous, though it's probably a way to clean out old unwanted inventory ^_^;
Based on what they explained, this is an original story about witchcraft by the circle UNION.
The circle seems to consist of two artists; Ryo Ueda & Izumi Sakamoto. I'll probably be looking around for info on the first artist, as his sketches are very nice (favorite2.jpg).
Not a book I would have run out to buy, but it was a freebie, so I can't complain :)

Actually, the last time I received my shipment from HLJ, a whole side of the box was lumped in. Of course, a side of my items was bent and stuff. I bought the gundam chibi character studio items from them, and I was intending to just display them in their boxes.

Anyways, for 3 times I've bought from HLJ already, whether it's EMS or SAL, there were no bubble wraps, no peanuts, and no newspapers. They were just fitted tightly into the boxes.

Just got one of these creepy XX eva figures today:

A-02 Lilith = XX

I'd long decided against paying full retail for these XX figures, after getting a look at how tiny they were in my local comic shop.
So, I went on the treacherous eBay auctions for it, and won her for $13. ^_^

The figure looks really neat overall, but I do think the majority of the expenses went into it's packaging (which for me just goes into the closet).
I had a time opening all the little flaps and such. ^_^;;

*Cool, I just realized the heads have articulation*

I'm finally doing a full-fledged figure review this time, and I've chosen Iroha for this review
http://reika.wordpress.com/2007/03/06/samurai-spirits-16-resin-recast-kit-of-iroha/

I've started using the lightbox method for the new photoshoot, but something's still not quite right. I've already used 3 lighting sources, one on top, one on the side, and one on the front right side. There seems to a lack of light on the figures face, but if I move the lightsources too close, my camera would take blurry pics. So I'm not sure what's the problem, is my setup wrong, or is my compact camera not good enough? Please help.

Here's my not so latest stuff. Again too busy with work so figures just pile up and no time to take photos.

First up is Mahoro-san & Sports Bike 1/12 PVC. This is a old Kotobukiya figure. I almost paid big bucks for it a while back since at the time it was no longer produced and not that many are floating around. But since Kotobukiya did a re-run on this product, I just bought it at the regular price.

More photo including the bike and bike's inner skeleton here at
http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=mahoromatic

Second one that I got is Kaiyodo's Asahina Mikuru 1/8 PVC. This one, well what can I say... the skin color is pinkish looks totally weird. I have to say this is a boo from Kaiyoko. Oh well, it will be my temporary Mikuru fix until the Max Factory's Mikuru and Good Smile's Mikuru bunny comes to my door.

More photo of Mikuru (including the skirt removed version for all your pantsu fans) at
http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=haruhi#4

Third is Vice and Alter's collaboration product GITS-SAC Kusanagi Motoko 1/7 PVC. I've looked hard for a good looking Motoko figure and this one seems to be the best looking one. I will have it placed right beside the EX-Alloy Tachikoma when that one arrives.

http://photo.vitsco.com/toys/gits-sac/CRW_3042.jpg

As usual more photos of Motoko at
http://photo.vitsco.com/?gallery=toys&category=gits-sac

Last one is Toy's Works Alice Carroll 1/6 PVC from Aria. Too bad the bonus extra head for Alice won't be free for me even that I do plan to get all 6 Aria PVC. I probably have to hunt one down from YJA. That head without the cap will look much better than this Alice head IMO.

If you purchased that exact Shana figure as pictured, from a HK seller, then you got a bootleg version.
I'm waiting to get this one myself, but steer clear of ebay for this one, as the super cheap versions ($5.99-$16.00) without the Media Works seal are fakes.

Anime PVC sellers Kinikandmiki, gundamit, free-club, mugensell, gordonlamlam, QPICK-ZONE, are pure bootleggers!

I guess the subtle difference between the real figure and the bootleg version is the hair. The level of details and the shape are of different levels.

Yay! She finally arrived :D

1/8 Miko Saimyouzi by Kotobukiya (Pia Carrot G.O.)

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t194/authenticfigurebox/Authentic%20Figures/100_2411.jpg

I used Media mail, so it took about 2 weeks from shipment, but it did save me a lot.
Anime Express was also a bit slow to ship after billing (8 days), so it kinda made the wait longer (x_x)

I would have loved if the shading on the Kimono sleeves matched the original statue, but either way she's a really cute figure, and is going for low prices in most shops.

I like the windswept look they gave her.

Such a cute face :)!
Cute little carrot charm too!

Nice bust :3

It's nice to see a figure that can pull off cute & sexy, yet is fully clothed!
She reminds me of the Ingrid figure, which is also awesome IMO.

Honestly, I'm pretty broke, so I try to get my figures at discounts if possible :)
It can be easier to get domestic releases like this really cheap.
She's like $18.00 here:

I forgot to add...
I'm guessing this figure must have been a candidate for leaning, as I can clearly see silver on the bottom of her heel, and inside the peg hole on the other foot.
They've re-enforced her legs with metal rods.
She is quite top heavy, with tiny legs, that are in a slightly off balance pose.

The base seems a bit weak for such a heavy figure too.

Yeah, the only problem I have with PVCs are their crappy bases(ie Yamato), The leaning problem is easily fixable.

Hmm , alot of the figures I own are a little on the top heavy side too
maybe I should take a magnet to them and check for metal rods .

The moelicious Mikuru waiting to serve you~~~

http://www.moemoerabu.net/2007/03/16/figure-review-asahina-mikuru-ready-to-serve-you/

First indoor shoot for a while (using desklamp lighting) so any tips would be a plus.

Hah nice one adun50... although kinda wish you had done it outside. ;D After all it's nice to see all the outside figure shots since I photography my figures exclusively in a product shoot setting (indoor in a lighting dome w/ white background and all). But none the less good too see another Mikuru here. >:D

Just came back from Momo-con and got The Hikaru figure from Peace@Pieces :D. The selection wasn't that great though, but I did have fun.

And this one from Pia Carrot G.O:

Quite sexy if you ask me :D.

Ah, the Pia Carrot one with changeable bust and removable dress. Surely a very "full-featured" figure, but unfortunately I haven't had the time or inclination to open the box and check it out yet.

So are you one of those NRFB people? Curious.. or do you prefer to have em out of the box?

icie

NRFB? I will assume via context that you mean people who leave their figures in their boxes for mint condition whatchamacallit. No I'm not. It's just there's no organisation in my cabinet currently and I haven't had time or proper equipment to do a photoshoot, so I haven't bothered yet. As you know once you take them out of the box they stop being stackable and so you need space for it. I haven't yet found the space.

I have sliding compartments under my bed. Luckily the bed is sturdy enough not not drop in on itself.. Well. Until it gets old that is.. ._.

I Kinda figure you'll run out of space if you keep putting stuff down there.

Yeah. But when the time comes I'll figure out a solution.

I only have two boxes down there right now.. Soon to be four.
