Oh, you not the only one too. The way I did back then was by using IE's stuff to do it. First go control panel and go languages and region? and from there you can select your languages and then you have to install it. Before my HDD crash, I was using it alot. Right now I have Opera and I will find a way to do it soon.

Edit: I managed to do it, I think. First go control panel if you have windows xp(my version). Then go to Regional and language options.
Find the Languages tab, Check to see that two boxes make sure that the Install East Asian blah blah is checked.

Then click Details. It will open up another window and then you should see that the default start up is English US.

In the middle you should see Add and remove, go click on Add.

Add the desire languages you would want to use say Japanese. Then you see some options. You can go from there.

The way I did it was following thru without adjusting other options.
After enabling, windows might ask you to install something. That you can grab off of windows site. Then the default key combination to switch language in put should be left alt and shift. You will see you task bar with an "EN" to "JP" click on JP icon and then expand it to the Language bar and work your way from here. Hope this helps.

Was that a clear line or space that was supposed to be Japanese fonts?
I think it is your browser that can't read Japanese IME.
You could try to download some language packs on the download site on Windows. Make sure you have your Windows CD ready when you try to install the packs. Also, check your version of windows. I accidentally downloaded 2000 and not the XP and then found out in a year that the whole time it didn't work.

Im assuming your using windows XP, if your using Mac OSX tell me and Ill tell you how to do it on Mac, but on windows what you need to do is have "EAST ASIAN FILES" installed on your computer wich allows you to see/type stuff like korean/japanese/chinese/thai and etc. Once you have that done (you do this by putting in the windows XP disc and going to regional in control panels, then on the language tab) once this is done go to (from control panels):
Regionsal -> Language -> Details
from there make sure you are in the "Setting" tab, and click ADD on the mid-right of the dialog box. Then add Japanese. hit apply, then ok, and close all the windows by hitting apply/ok. After all that is done, go to windows and look at your toolbar, in the bottom right you will have "EN" (English) assuming English is what ur PC runs in, right click on those 2 letters, and hit "Restore Language Bar" then it will pop up to the top right of your screen as a second toolbar. From there select Japanese, then from "A Input Mode" Change it to "あ Input Mode" by selecting the imput as Hiragana. This allows you to type in Hiragana. If you want to type a katakana word, you need to spell it 100% correctly with all the right dashes and such, and it auto-converts into katakana by hitting space after the word. To change a word into kanji, hit space after typing the word out, but beware, it doesnt always give you the kanji you want, so make sure you know what the kanji mean before submitting them to anyone who would think your dumb for seeing it x.x Such as it defaults "Kanji" to the kanji for feeling as opposed to the most used kanji for chinese characters. To change back to typing in ro-maji, change input to "A Input Mode" or just change it all back to "English" or whatever your native language is.

それをしったの後で、日本語が書けますねぇ。 がんばって!
