Seeing as no one has made a thread like this one for wallpapers, might as well being the 1st:D. Anyway place one or more wallpapers that you made by yourself. Try posting them as thumbnails as to let slower members view this thread.

Rules similar to the signature and avatar thread:
- You have to rate at least one wallpaper.
- You can rate as many as you want.
- Don't just rate, comment (constructive criticism is preffered).
- Rating system is out of 10.
- and You don't have to post a wallpaper if you only want to comment on a wallpaper that you may or may not like. But if you do please be one of your own.

Hey! nice job on the wallpapers!! I'll do my constructive criticism first .. then rate :D
Ok:

Wallpaper 1: I really like this one .. the blue colours give it a very peaceful look .. and the background is really cool! .. the only thing is the title .. i dunno why .. the font/the style .. just something makes it awkward .. but it's great!!

Wallpaper 2: Another great job!! The background is awesome! and the character suits it too!! .. as for criticism i'd have to say the title again.. BUTTTT i think the title suits it .. just that it's not that bold .. (maybe that's ur effect) .. but the title is kinda hard to see coz of the matching colours of the back .. but other than that amazing!

Wallpaper 3: Amazing background! nothing to criticize!

Wallpaper 4: Probably my favourite one .. i love the reflectiony thing you did! shows inner and outer feelings (i think that's what you were trying to convey) .. again nothign to criticize .. (but if the reflection thing is supposed to be an inner feeling then maybe make it a bit faded? to show that? .. )

Wallpaper 5: For this wallpaper i like the characters .. but the background looks strange :S .. like the characters are sooo detailed and then suddenly there's a very plain back .. altho the sky and water is really great .. the mountains just look out of place! .. but besides that .. nice job again!

So as for my ratings:

Wallpaper 1: 9/10 (Just coz of the title)
Wallpaper 2: 9/10 (Again title)
Wallpaper 3: 10/10 (GREAT! NICE TITLE TOO :D)
Wallpaper 4: 11/10 (realllly like this one!)
Wallpaper 5: 7/10 (Just not feeling this one really)

Well that gives an overall score of 9.2! ..WOW!

Azstraph: Pretty good wallpapers there, my friend.

Gundam Seed: The text is a bit jaggy, and so is the cut-out of the character, but the background is definitely my favorite out of the five! Looks kind of like an ocean or a night sky. Good stuff.

Elfen Lied: Pretty good, I like the kind of bloody look to it, but the colors are a little mismatched. The cut-out is good, but it looks like it was from a scan, as it's not very...clean, for lack of better word. Not a lot you could have done there though.

Tsuki-Hime 1: I like the blood splatter effect, and this one has the best quality of character out of them all for sure. Very nice, she's a looker for sure. :D

Tsuki-Hime 2: Again, the quality is freaking amazing, and the background is pretty cool. Yay polar coordinates. ;D I like how the second, smaller pic of the girl blends in with the background. Nice.

Fafner in the Azure: I agree with wascloud on this one. The quality is good for the characters, and the water and the sky look pretty good, but the land is just icky. >_O Perhaps you should try using a 3D rendering thingamabobber like Bryce 5. That does some real wonders with landscaping.

I would like to try to put a more darker red as an overlay on it and brush it upp a little and then make it a little drippy. Otherwise gj O?L^

First one: Quality is so-so, but it's an interesting style.
Second one: Alright quality, nice text, I wonder where the quote is from. ^^
Third one: Fun with the cut-out filter and some random funky design. ^^;;; Feels a little out of place. Style is alright, if it weren't so easy to make. :P *has a photoshop artist's eye*
Fourth one: Spiffy quality, very nice job extracting the render, interesting background idea. :D
Fifth one: Busy, quality is icky. I like the thingy in the bottom right corner though. ^^;;;
Sixth one: I can't really tell what's going on, but it's alright.
Seventh one: This would be really good if the background quality weren't shitty as hell. X3 *huggles*

Made this a while ago as well. All hand-made, no brushes, my own render. :3 Well, the stock isn't hand-made, but everything else is.

TaronWarrior: Well, As always when doing WPs from small pictures it easily gets ****ed when it comes to quality depending on how you use the pics and as for me who mostly make WPs for myself it can be troublesome to have a screen resolution of 1600x1200 ^^

To your WP:
Think I've seen this before somewhere. .
The colormatching is good since there arn't too many colors.
All the "data", lines, numbers etc fits pretty good except for the Introversion text that feel like some text from, I don't know, I got like an Eminem CD-cover feeling from the text style with the same text over itself that way, dunno why, so I don't think that part really matches the rest of the design on the WP.

The pic from magna carta fits really good.
I feel like the boxes comming from the light reminds me of something I've seen in some futuristic move and I come to think about some sort of callendar that is being loaded or something ^^

Wow, that's beautiful!!! (great detail!) The fire is gorgeous, I love the way it fills in the crevices that the impact created, and seems to be moving outward in every direction!!

It reminds me of the meteor in FFVII, great job :D

I didnt do the picture of warden, I found it somewhere and liked it so I just used it to make the WP, the original was colorless and I didn?t feel it was needed to have any extra colors in the pic, since it would give away her shadowmeld effect ^^

The render background gives a nice chaotic scenario (like flying debris), that fits to the stockpicture. Hm, drawbacks ... it's monochrome again and these tribal mark-like swirls around the "Gunslinger Girls"-text don't go so well with the jagged appearance of the rest imho.

1) Cool wallpaper, like how you portrayed Tomoe with that mysterious/sad/dark atmosphere around her. Maybe just a touch-up on the middle Tomoe, seems to have be a little more dirty than the other two. Personal fav from this bunch, 9.95/10.
2) Nice, seems you were able to blur up the picture and the outlines off. With the picture of Seph(sp?) and the city, I would switch the two around to show what each character was fighting for. What that picture in the middle, don't remember it from the game? 9.5/10
3) Sad scene:(, haven't reach that level yet in the game, lol. 9/10
4) HA, seems you gave Alcuard a buzz hair cut on that screen shot on the right middle. 9/10
5) Cool work with the copy n paste with the blending in of the picture especially the middle one with the cross and Tomoe/Kenshin. 9.8/10

1st wallpaper:

-you are doing a quite worth job for the water out there, however you should put more "wavy" effect for the water, it looks cranky for an ocean.
-the extraction for the character looks great! no more for this one. :D
-birds. i like them a lot, just fine.
-the words "maya" arent fit well in this wallpaper. if you have Photoshop CS, you should put more work with the "warp" effects.

grade: B+ (around 8/10)

2nd wallpaper:

hahahaha.... I had no idea for this one, Its too simple, you just fill the background with an adobe default texture isn't it? try to put something else over ther to make your wallpaper look more lively.

SERJ: Nice job. ^^ Good stock picture and well extracted (although I see a few not so cleanly cut spots, e.g. armpit area). The blue text on the left looks cool. What I don't like so much is the background. I'm not much of a fan of the emboss-filter and somehow there are too many different styles and effects thrown together.
Keep the wps coming! ^^

This wallpaper is my second one and also a couple of months old now. It was for a logo-contest of the HF-Ogame alliance (so you might have already seen it :p). The 3D-modeling of the fighters is not my work, btw.

Mainly on her arms, where on her skin parts of it is smooth but when it gets to the darker parts it gets a little pixelated.

Should have mention that for the Maya wall, the only things I did for it were the extraction of Maya, the writing on the sand, the birds that I used different brush to do, and the lens flare for the sun. Also tried my best to get her original shadow to blend in as much as possible into the sand.

For the GSD wall, I redid the picture of Athrun and Cagalli using Illustator for the tracing and then used PS for the recoloring. The picture I took from a doujin comic strip and did the best I could on my first attempt on making it look like a photograph. Agree with you on the BG, just couldn't think of anything good to place there, will work on it later.

Anyway cool wall, liked how blend in the girls hair with the BG and had all the wall shaded within the same color range. SERJ: Agree with KidSteel about the too many effect, cut back on some of the effects and try to keep it with only 2 to 3 colors for the BG. Good effort on 1st attempt. Q: Did you do that Baseball Bat shape on purpose or just came out? 9.1/10

PS - Actually redid the extraction for Maya since I wasn't too happy when I did it the first time for the sig using Fireworks. It had too many spots that I had to delete manually to get it to look as perfectly smooth as possible.

I had it only a couple of years in school and I didn't really pay attention in class. :p I used the cyrillic font in the ava just as a design element, because I somehow associated the post-apocalyptic flair and jury-rigged apparel with Soviet Russia ... no offense intended, dear Russians! :D

I had it only a couple of years in school and I didn't really pay attention in class. :p I used the cyrillic font in the ava just as a design element, because I somehow associated the post-apocalyptic flair and jury-rigged apparel with Soviet Russia ... no offense intended, dear Russians! :D

hatn - Nice attempts but both would look a lot better at larger resolutions, 640*480 min. . First one I like for its creative design with the Russian text. I don't like all that empty space in-between, add lines or something relative to the text to fill in. Second, hmmm, maybe have another hand or body part on the other side fighting that hand with a title that describes what is happening. Use the Reality Check comic strip that appear in the Sunday morning newspaper as an inspriation. 1st wall - 7/10; 2nd wall - 5.5/10
Kouji - Cute wallpaper, picture is a bit blurry and the shadow does distract from the main picture and BG a bit. 8.3/10
Radeonator - Nice Ciel pose. The cross going over the swords, changing the swords' color, does bother me. Maybe have the sword going over the cross to give a it more 3d look and move the Shingetsutan Tsukihime text mored over to the right. 8.8/10
RandomOrangeCola - Ha, that's cool. Blood does go over some the guns and just needs a extra large bazooka for enemy tanks. 2 Questions: What type of gun am I anyway? and What's the prize for the winner:P? 9.5/10

New wall, actually a coloring project I did for a contest and just resized it to fit the screen size of 1600*1200. Everthing except for the original drawing and the mountains I did using PS and filters I found online. This is of Caster from Fate/Stay-Night.

@Az: Sorry on the dizzy comment. But my left eye is light sensitive, had to close it to view your wall a 2nd time to comment it again ^^;. Think I eleborate on my comment. Its pretty bad, colour-theraphy-wise. The swirls made them worst. Nice job extracting both pics tho. Would had been a great wall with that stock pic. 4/10 (sorry >.<)

Yeah ... who needs LSD when one has your wallpaper. :D Nah, it's not that bad, just a tad bit too busy imho. The stock picture is cropped very cleanly and fits well into the bg colourwise. Interesting font.

Hm, as Radeonator wrote ... too dark. The dark bg is not a problem, but the stock picture in the foreground definitely lacks brightness. It's probably that dark to blend better with the bg, but that's difficult with this kind of picture. The colours of her hair and clothes are more suited to a brighter bg. It's neatly cropped, though, and the swirls on her fingertips are a nice idea (could be more visible).

No idea who she is, but I know the original and I have seen her on other wallpapers. Cool bg and nice font. A bit too much going on, but that's my personal taste. The girl needs some cleaning (e.g. her hair on the left side, the hands and the blades). The wallpaper is a bit small dimensioned, but that's probably because the original stock picture is small. Good work.
