If the country becomes completely unstable to live in for whatever reason, where will you guys go to? Lately a lot of stupid shit has been happening. So far it hasn't been bad enough to move away, but what if the time comes where you just cant live here anymore?
Will you stay in the USA? Or will you move to some other country?
I am wondering myself what I will do.

My question is.. if you guys do end up in a situation where you do need to run away from there country where on earth will you go, i mean the most obvious choice would be Europe, but this continent in no way can handle a sudden like 100 million immigrant wave. USA is huge and that's the problem, i come from a small country called Lithuania **points at north east Europe - it's there if you are wondering** and when 10% of a 3.6 million population packed up and left it's no big hassle, it filters out through the countries people went to and the number isnt that big. But USA is what like 600 million inhabitants, it would be a much more complicated thing.

If you have guns, Northern Idaho is a good place. Unless you are a member of an ethnic minority, anyway. And there's always Canada. Silly Canucks don't believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or illegal aliens. Masochists can go to Mexico. Bonus points if they take cash and wave it around. Everyplace else requires too much rowing or swimming.

Nothing is going to happen top the US. At least not for the current generation. This is not the first time the US has faced hard times. Furthermore for many such as my self nothing has changed. Still employed at a good stable job, no real rise in any bills or anything else I purchase. For the most part I have notice no change in all in my life. I am sure there are many others that are the same but many that are in bad shape as well. But as I said. The US has had hard times before, much harder in fact then what is happening now. We are humans, we will adjust and we will go on.

It's not going to happen so why worry over it? It's people like you who worry about things they have no need to that have such high stress in their lives. Just relax and take life's rides as they come. Have some kids and ask them this question as it is more likely to happen to them then us.

I will stay as I really have no means to just uproot myself and off to points unknown. But if I did get the means I would become a Canadian citizen.

Since most of the "stupid shit" is from the right wing fringe, it wouldn't be sensible to abandon the U.S. It would only strengthen them. Best option is to stay and fix the problems, maybe with extreme measures (depending on the degree and nature of the crisis).

How many of you guys have ever left your country (americans or not)?
I don't want to be rude, but sometimes people are just scared of the unknown...
Even though Canada or Mexico would be the obvious answer for most americans in a crisis ( a real one, like flood, alien invasion(?) or meteors), it doesn't mean the rest of the world is unhabitable...

I'd like to go to China, btw.

You better hope the best for America, for if it falters complelety.. the world will turn real ugly. I hope this threads intention isn't to rub it on Americans faces that their precious America is declining, that's just wrong.

I'd go to Australia. Secluded. @_@

what do u mean when u say unstable? ill assume u mean economically unstable since thats the thing most people are worried about.

if america becomes 'unstable', i dont think itll effect me that much, if at all. i have a stable job (which im good at) at one of the top financial firms, ive got a good salary (i can buy most things i want without sacrificing anything and still have plenty left over for my savings account), and i live in a quite and peaceful suburb with a pretty much non-existent crime rate. still, just in case, i do own a couple of guns but ive never had a reason to use them and i hope it stays that way.

so to answer your question, id stay in the america i was born in.

i acknowledge that people who are worse of than me, staying in usa might not be an option and i have sympathy for them.

having said that however, im in a pretty comfortable position and i have no reason to move, whether america is stable or unstable.

i've been to many countries from the east to the west, from the south to the north, both for vacation and for work purposes.

im certainly doesnt afraid of anything!

if america becomes unstable, you would go to china? china is improving but they are just as unstable as america and there will be many changes in china, changes that are currently happening.

of course, if you have money like i do and can buy a home at the right place, away from all the chaos, then it shouldnt effect u. the same can be said of any country you go to: youll be comfortable as long as u have money

Lol i dont really get why some dont see this as a hypothetical question, which it is.

I've lived in 4 different countries, hitchhiked like 20000 (maybe more lol, hard to really say cos there were a whole whooping load of short trips its hard to account) miles in my life lol, been to nearly every country in europe and some of the asian countries, and im only 25 xD, yeah i live a crazy life xDD

^Greece more or less stabilized by now, well stabilized as much as the rest of EU at least, since EU threw them a bunch of money and they really weren't THAT badly in trouble, media boosted it out to much larger proportions than it was.

Lately a lot of stupid shit has been happening.

To say the least... Anyways, i'd recommend going to Canada. All the general necessities for sustenance supposedly aren't too pricey there; no need to learn a new language, and from what i can gather, it seems kinda like the US, if the US didn't suck. (all those opinions are based on no actual experience btw)

I'd get outta this bastard before it's too late but i got alot of family here that i really care about; i suppose i'll stay along for the flood

Wait till the dollar looses its place as the worlds reserve currency, and we're almost instantly paying double the amount of money we used 2 for everything
