I've added some new extra options for Donor and VIP to thank them for supporting & helping the community.
Now Donor and VIP can have:
Bigger Avatar: 200x120 30kb limit.
Bigger Profile Picture: 375x300 65kb limit
So don't forget to update your avatar and profile picture today :cool: See demo in My Profile (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=1)
Also there are few members who has been making good posts & good torrents will be promoted to VIP soon. I will post news about it later today or tomorrrow.
Please consider to donate us, Runing hongfire.com cost alot, Because we use all paid scripts not free ones, And also runing on Dual Xeon Server. So if you can make even a few dollar a month would really help us alot.

That probably has some impact, but I believe it has been said those who help the community as a whole will also be considered.

Don't be confused. Donors are people who donate real $$$ (money) to hongfire.com. Top seeders are the kind people that offer their bandwidth connection for uploading files (or helping with uploading of file(s)) to the many thousands of ungrateful leechers on hongfire's network. :P

That's right. Donors are people who donate money to support hongfire.com, And VIP are people who seed and posting good infos to help other members. Without them both we wouldn't be still runing.

Wow. My request for Kasumi Mania 3 really made an impact. It even got HongFire hooked :D Thanks again to ak404 for answering my request, and I'll be uploading this torrent forever ;)

How big would you perfer? but this extra option is for VIP and donor only atm.

Is it possible to have larger sized (KB) avatars? I mean if you link to a remote host, not larger for uploading to the server.

20kb max IMO is a bit small, especially since we are dealing with avatars that are about 1.5 times bigger heightwise (80 vs. 120) and 2.5 times bigger length wise (80 vs. 200). 25-30kb max I can deal with....

if the avatar is a standing picture, 10kb is enough even for the larger dimensions.
allowing avatars with too large a filesize will slows down forum browsing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I set the size limit for VIP and donor to 30kbs now. Hope that's enough. And remember You can always use photoshop to optimize the picture to make the file size alot smaller while keeping the same picture quality.
DirtyFinger has already point out the reason we limit the file size, Is to ensure the forum loading speed. If we don't limit it and someone use a 1mb file size gif avatar then it would be very hard for people who have slower connection to browse the forums. And bandwith for the server are quite expansive.
P.S I am locking this thread now. From now on members can post their comments on news announcement but it will be locked when new news announcement come out.
