Nope, Its just me guessing/hoping what chars they will add. And I would really like it if they made drunken Lee playable(from his fight with Kimimaro).
Dunken boxing and Rock Lee is just so damn cool :)

Yes! At last! I've been waiting for this to come out for months now. I really hope they improve the buying system because playing Shadow Mode like 20 times to get Itachi isn't really fun... But what made the Gekitou Ninja Taisen series shine to me, was the ability to play with 4 players in a fighting game.

I finally picked this one up recently, and let me tell you, its a definite improvement over its predecessor. For one thing, your character has much more health in comparison to the third installment. No more Shikamaru instant kill combos! There have been various balance issues fixed, and now you can definetly tell when you are using an adult character, because you take alot less damage than the kid chars.
This installment takes the series all the way to right before 2.5 years later in the manga. As far as I can tell, there are no characters from any of teh anime filler arcs.
Even though it may not be apparent at first, they still have characters like mizuki, zabuzan, and haku. They also added the sound 4, Kimimaru, Kabuto, Curse level 2 Susuke, One Tail Naruto, and a few others that I am not too certain about, as I havent unlocked them yet.
A great addition to the gameplay is the 3-man-cell mode. Its where you pick three characters and are able to use them all during a single battle, without pause. Its very similar to the switching system in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, as you can switch at any time using a quarter of your chakara bar. If you are in a situation where you character could do a teleporting recovery, you may instead switch to one of your other characters for the same amount of chakara as a normal teleport recovery. When your characters are not currently in battle, they slowly recover chakara and small amounts of health. Pressing forward and X together allows you to execute a very damaging team attack, if all of your characters are alive and have full chakara. If you are using people who had worked together or had been on the same team (Ex. Team Naruto, Gaara and Rock Lee, Shikamaru and Temari), than when you execute a team attack, they will do a special attack that deals extra damage, and has a cooler animation to boot.
The unlock system for characters has changed from the previous game. No longer do you earn money for doing tasks. Instead, the only way to unlock characters is to beat missions. There are several hundred missions in the game, but I think you only need to beat about 125 of them in order to unlock everyone. You obtain missions, seemingly at random, by just entering the main menu. Sakura will occasionally offer you a mission from one of the 4 categories, C, B, A, S. You may find it a bit difficult to figure out what you are supposed to be doing during the missions if you cant read Kanji. There is a kinda poor FAQ that has the mission information located at www.Gamefaqs.com.
4 player mode is still available as well.
Overall, me and my freinds cannot stay away from this game. I think its an amazing game if you are a fan of the series, and a solid fighting game if you are not. I rate it a 9 on my personal scale out of 10.
Hmm when does 3 and 4 come out in North America? =P

I hope soon...cause I'm itching for some Naruto fighting action and importing isn't really that much of an option for me.

Why not? Can't order stuff online or what?
You can order a Naruto 4 and freeloader disc package from lik-sang.com for about $70. The freeloader works like good ol' boot discs on the dreamcast, you just pop in the freeloader, fire it up, switch discs, and you're good to go. Nothing complicated like modding or PS2 disc swapping (not that the latter is particularly complex, but relatively speaking it is).

I've played a few hours now, and so far I'm quite disappointed. New characters are nice, yes, but too much about the game is just blatantly untouched. The identical graphics are embarrasing, and starting to look pretty dated at this point in the GC's life. They couldn't improve just a few existing specials? They've actually made some downgrades where it really hurts. No d-pad for movement? What were they THINKING? And it still has the glaring problem of one player per character in 4-player. You would think that they would have had the common sense to fix that, but the whole game reeks of laziness.
Naruto 3 was a great game, and I'm not saying this isn't a great game either - but it could have been so much more. I expect more out of a sequel than this.

This is less of a sequel than it is a fixed up Naruto 3. Like Guilty Gear XX #Reload is to Guilty Gear XX. They shouldn't have labeled this one Naruto:GNT 4, it shoulda been Naruto:GNT 3 (some other extra title thing). Woulda made more sense, but oh well. This one is my first of the GNT series, and I'm loving it. MUCH MUCH better than I expected out of a game based off of a manga/anime.
