PC - Melty Blood Re-ACT Final Tuned

I've seen some people around here that were still looking for Melty Blood, so I decided to make this post.

This set contains Melty Blood v1.100 and Melty Blood Re-ACT v2.501b in 1 DVD ISO, so you will need a DVD burner to copy it off if wanted or a Virtual Drive to load it up.

This is simply a repack of the original game. I've taken the time to rename and correct bugs that the japanese charactered files were causing to the installer on an English Windows, and made my own custom installer for the people.

It also comes with a DVD Box Art and a DVD Disc label for you to print out, all made from images I found around the net or the game's manual.

Hope you enjoy this release.

This game is a must-have for all hardcore 2D fighters or Tsukihime fans.

Yes, I know the other torrent is up also.
The other torrent, is, from what you can say, a data cd that contains Melty Blood and Melty Blood Re-ACT seperately, meaning you have to run each installer seperately, patch all your files manually. On the DVD image, there was also the covers for you to print out.
*Edit: Sorry, that the package I received from another torrent I got off the Internet that was called Melty Blood Re-ACT Final Collection. My bad. The other one does contain the game zipped and can just be ran manually from your hard drive. It came with Melty Blood v1.100 and Melty Blood Re-ACT v2.501a. I don't know if it came with a cover art or anything at all. I'm just basing myself upon the threads I am reading.

This torrent, on the other hand, is not a zip file with the game's content in it. It is a zip file that contains a DVD ISO image for you to mount or burn onto a DVD disc using the most common disc burning software out there. Once mounted or the burnt dvd disc inserted, it autoruns the disc.
An English installer will appear, asking you for the features to install. This installer with automatically install Melty Blood v1.100 and v2.501b directly. No more seperate manual installations nor file patching anymore. The installer comes ready for you to add on or remove Re-ACT without troubling the original Melty Blood at all or to simply uninstall the whole game from your comp.

As mentioned, all the folders and links have been fixed for an English version of Windows, so for those running an English only copy of Windows, the shortcuts in the start menu or the folders created will not appear as gibberish anymore, but actual English words.

Finally, this also comes with 2 very high quality images to print out for a DVD Box Cover and for the DVD Disc Label.

This release does NOT contain the english patch for Melty Blood on the DVD as I have read in one of the threads for the removal of it from that other release.

I've put in many hours of my time to create the installer and setup the covers, so I thought I might as well share it with the others online, that's why I've posted it.

To put it in simpler terms, this release is just simply to automate the patching, installation to your computer with the shortcuts into your start menu, and also the removal of the game in quick and easy steps with an InstallShield.

To mount the DVD ISO, please use either Daemon Tools or Alcohol 52% or Alcohol 120%.

To burn the ISO, use any common burning program such as Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5, Nero, or Alcohol 120%. Many other burning applications support the standard ISO type, that is why I decided to dump my work into that format.

To print out the Box Cover Art or Disc Label art to use it and apply it on your physical disc, you must have the appropriate software and tools to do so. Might I suggest Roxio's Label Creator for the box cover label and CD Stomper for the disc label.

"Final Tuned" merely brings the game as close as possible to the arcade version "Act Cadenza" by literally tuning the system and changing things here and there. The few differences between the two is the new characters, stages, and some other things.

Final Collection is the compilation created with the release of the Final Tuned patch for people who doesn't have Melty Blood ReACT.

Errr, what exactly do you want? Where to find 2.501a so you can apply 2.501b? I don't think it's necessary in this case, you should be able to just apply 2.501b patch without any issue.

umm I need help..record doesnt seem to work.. like in Trainning Mode when I try to record it will start the process showing the timer and then it stops at 5mins,I go to check the recoreding and its not there like it never saved.

you get the op... to redo the match again or go to character change and then Save Replay i would go to save but nothing happens nothing pops up saying i saved the replay its like i never picked anything..

Playing online is a very iffy thing. On combovideos, you can search for something called Fierce Gear, but currently it seems to have frozen and doesn't really work. You're welcome to try though. Might need to be registered to download it.

the problem i have is that i run a 19in monitor. when the game runs at full screen. it becomes umm pixelated? like it was just stretched and the resolution size doesnt change. is there anyway to run this game at a higher res? surely they didnt make this game just thinking about people with small monitors right?

It's been a long time since I visited Hongfire.

As for the movie saving problem, let me test that out to see what could be wrong.

The game itself is ran at low resolution, and the pixelated sprites were already existing in the original game. Seems the makers didn't put too much effort into making high resolution sprites...

As I mentioned, this package comes with a DVD ISO to burn onto a disc, the dvd box cover, and also the dvd disc picture, all for your esthetic pleasure. :P

Seems this release was much more popular than expected between people since it's still being seeded after all this time.

Saved replays will be in the replay folder <_< They can only be played by MBR though, you need another program to record videos if you want to. There is an option to record your VS battles after you win/lose. Sorry, you can't save arcade/story battles.

Keyboard settings are hard-set. There's a program out there that can probably let you change them, but the game only allows you to change buttons for controllers.

In case anyone still does not know this, if you find out that you cannot save replays for the VS mode, simply do the following:

1) Go to your MBR folder
2) Create a folder named "replay"

And you're all set to save replays. ^^;

It's perfectly fine to start with FT, it is much more refined and quicker than the original game. No translations of the story exists, but you can always check http://www.revolve-trans.org/index.html for updates.

The main emphasis of the game is combo, combo, combo. Being able to easily pull off combos right away is important to doing big damage. It takes time to learn how to do them, so you need hours to get used to it...

Controls can only be changed if you have a controller... I'm sure there's a keymapper somewhere for the keyboard tho... But it's well recommended you get a controller. Buy a PSX/USB connecter and a PS controller and you're set.

You probably need to change the computer to Japanese to play the game.

There is some new minor storyline as far as React vs MB is concerned. React takes place a year after mb and basically you find out why it's snowing mid summer. It's all arcade mode though, story mode is exactly the same.

To play you'll have to do 2 things.
1)Make sure that your melty blood application is a read-only file

I don't remember ReAct being one year after MB, rather I think they are the same storyline, just changed the naming of MB to MB ReAct due to addition of new characters into the game. MB is one year after the end of Tsukihime storyline.

About the online thing, I am not sure if u can still use ur controller to play, both players might have to use standard keyboard configs.

Ok, as u can see there are 2 many changes :/

***Basics***

-Both health and vital source are now merged to one bar. The yellow area
represents your character's health, while the red area represents vital
source. In ReACT, vital source will only drop when certain attacks are
received/blocked. Also, unlike the first Melty Blood, it will not regenerate
over time.

-The MC gauge no longer regenerates itself, now you actually have to
deliver/receive/shield damage to gain percentages. Once the gauge goes over 300.0%, your character will enter Heat mode.

-Heat and Blood Heat
During Heat mode:
* the MC gauge gradually drops,
* your character's health will replenish to your current level of vital
source,
* EX moves cost less percentage to use,
* an Arc Drive can be used.
Once your gauge runs empty, Heat mode ends and your MC gauge will be
reset to 150.0%.

-When your MC gauge is over 100.0%, Heat mode can be manually activated
with the command 222+D. However, the effective duration of this is much
shorter than automatic activation.

-When you use the same 222+D command during automatically activated Heat, your character will enter Blood Heat mode. Health replenishes at a
much faster rate, the Last Arc can be used, and your character's Arc
Drive is powered up. Once Blood Heat ends (when gauge becomes empty or
Arc Drive is used), your MC gauge will drop all the way down to 0.0%.

***Movements***

-Dash and Run
It is now easier to attack from a dash, that's all I have to say here.

-Jumping and Landing
The recovery delay from landing has been reduced, so it is now easier
to start a ground combo from a jump-in attack.

-High Jump
Tap 1/2/3 and then 9 to perform a large jump across the screen. Can be
cancelled from a normal/command attack.

***Attacks***

-Ground and Air Throws
You can no longer OTG from most throws/air throws.

-Launch, Strike and Knockdown Effects
There are many moves which carry the addition effect that, when striking the opponent, will knock them off from their current position.

There are three kinds of effects:
1) Launch effect: Knock the opponent off the ground and up into the air,
2) Strike effect: Knock the opponent straight across the screen,
3) Knockdown effect: Drop the opponent towards the ground.

Sometimes the activation of the effect depends on the position of the opponent. For example, Arcueid's standing strong attack has strike effect, but only on the condition that the opponent is not on the ground.

-Blowback Edge
The command for Blowback Edges has been simplified, now you only have to hold down the attack button to charge. Certain specials move can also be used as Blowback Edges.

***Special and EX Moves***

A special move can now be cancelled into an EX move, even if the special move does not come in contact with the opponent. However, not all moves can be EX cancelled.

***Defensive Manoeuvres***

-Guarding
Nothing much to mention here, just that now many normal ground attacks
cannot be guarded against in the air.

-Evasion has been removed

-Shield Counter
Quickly input 236+D after a successfully shielded attack. The type of counter
move your character uses depends on whether the shield was performed standing, crouching, or in the air. Unlike other fighting games with similar counter moves, Shield Counters do not consume any gauge.

-Shield Bunker
A Shield Bunker is performed with the command 214+D. Your character will shield and then make a counterattack. This can also be used while your character is guarding, for a small cost of the MC gauge.

-Last Arc
Extremely powerful version of Shield Counter. While your character is in
Blood Heat, simply shield the opponent's attack and it will automatically
be triggered. The conditions for activation depend on the character you're
using and whether the shield was performed standing, crouching, or in the air.

-Attack-to-Movement Cancel
Same as before, except that you can cancel your attack into high jump, even if your hits are guarded.

-Quick Standing
This time you have to enter the 44 or 66 command BEFORE you touch the ground, otherwise you won't get up.

***Combo System***

-Chain Combos
Chain combos are a little more restrictive this time, as certain normal attacks
can no longer buffer to any other attack.

-Air Combos
As with chain combos, restrictions have also been made on air combos; for
certain characters some of the normal air attacks now have strike or
knockdown effect, thus reducing the chance of any follow-up attacks.

I have ver.2.501b, and based on what you've provided, none of those files seem to be the right one, or am I still doing something wrong? I have tried all the patches, and the button 4 technique, but nothing.

I believe that basically, if you use the netplay to play the game, it automatically has the characters unlocked.

If you STILL can't get it to work, try the attached file. Run it in the directory with the exe file.

The newest mbr_net should have a run program that'll bring up a list.
On that List of buttons, MBR EX should be there.
That is where the chars are.

The patch is for the original Melty Blood (not ReAct or Final Tuned), thus it won't work, but it's not worth it anyway, as it ONLY translates the main menus, which you probably figured out by now.

Either way, it seems you need the original Melty Blood (non-ReAct) ISO, which would be quite hard to get considering the game is always distributed as ReAct only and as an already installed folder.

On a side note, a repack of revolve's react translation patch was posted on
4chan. All you need to do is to extract it to the game's (react) folder (no cd
checks,just a plain rar with files).

I'm having a bit of trouble starting this game. It could just be that I am painfully retarded, but it's frustrating nonetheless. I installed(seemingly) everything, and rather than describe the issue, I figure a picture is worth a thousand words.

That's the error message I get back when I click on the run program. Understanding Japanese text is like asking me to translate runes, so that just added to the annoyance. The same error message comes up when I run it with AppLocale, mounting the .iso, mounting .ccd and .cue, compatibility to Windows 2k, and any variation of those in a combination. I'm really hoping it's just something stupid I overlooked.

I don't understand Japanese and I know it may sound strange, but try changing
your screen color depth: 16bit->32bit, or vise versa, depending on your current
configuration.

I'll edit my post when I have more ideas.

qwerty123456789: it says something like this "MeltyBlood is not installed. You need to install the game in order to play." On picture, you have garbage symbols in program path and first subfolder name. Reinstalling game under AppLocale (yes, install too, not only run) might help.

Ah thanks, that was the issue. It seems someone deleted my original Melty Blood game from my computer, took the entire time since you posted that message to get it back off a torrent, but at least it works.

The direct patch won't work with this repack version of the game, while the older English patch is known for crashing for some parts of the game.

I can't seem to get the english patch to work. I put it in the same directory as Melty Blood React. It used to work for me but then I installed Act Cadenza which I guess wrote over react. I reinstalled React because I hadn't played the story mode yet and redownloaded the patch but now it doesn't work. It's in the same directory and everything. Any ideas? I think an installation of Melty Blood is required for the English patching process (one that makes an entry in the registry). You can get that at the torrent I linked in my previous post.

So frustrating...I just got 6/7 endings in story mode, then my PC crashed as I was opening the game and now my Melty Blood save file is reset, meaning I can't get the last ending without getting the other 6 again. Wow, it's quite interesting to see that there's still many posts going around with this installation that I've done like 3 years back almost.

I might consider redoing my package with the english patches pre-applied, but I'll have to see it through...

Right now, I'm preparing another big package for release soon, but it's not Melty Blood related... You'll soon see what it is. ;)

After my current project is done, I'll be thinking of making a Melty Blood collection, probably a repack on DVD again with new cover labels, english patched games of Melty Blood, Melty Blood Re-Act Final Tuned, and of course, Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver. B with the latest patch applied.

well, when you mount this iso file you have both the files of melty blood and melty blood re-act so the english patch(from mirror moon) wont work since it was made for the 2 versions seperately, too bad, i advice you guys to download it from another source with seperate iso files if you want to play in english. sigh, 1 day of leeching gone...
