This is a very fun game. Even if you dont speak the language give this game a try. This is kind of a mix between final fantasy tactics and star ocean.

From the screen shot and the web site it's in Chinese. But who knows, it might be a Japanese verion of the game?

I changed it in description sorry I dont read any language other than english so i dont know the difference. I used google to translate thier site and it translated it 100% useing jap and it got wierd when i used simp chinese so i assumed it was jap.

This is a good game, I played it a while ago. However, be warned that it is very difficult, in fact that's why I stopped halfway through, as there is an atrocious lack of healing potions and limited healing spells. Challenging but fun!

Dynasty is well known for making really good but ultra tough games to beat. they really challenge you to think through your moves because you can't afford to waste a single move sometimes!
they can be frustrating at first, but when you do overcome the challenge, it is really satisfying!

No this game is older and has nothing to do with starfore.

This game uses SecureRom for copy protection just follow the guides on the site to burn a secure rom game.
I am sure there are tools to get around Secure rom as it is an older protection.
Wind fantasy 4 uses Starforce and you need the latest version of daemon tools to play it.

Read through the thread every once in a while. The game is in traditional Chinese. There's a No CD patch but that supposedly has a virus in it.

I've already uploaded 10gigs worth of this game (more 4.7 times the size of this game). Most of the people here have just hit and run. There is only one seeder besides me and I know I've helped atleast 3 people complete their game. AAAAAGRRRRRH!

I'll see what I can do about that. Spread-it.com only allows max 500mb files. CD 1 is almost 700mb. If I can't compress it down, I'll have to split the file and upload twice. Disc 3 took me a few hours to up so if I get it working, you won't see it up until another 24 hours maybe. And this is also assuming that my computer doesn't crash during the upload process...

*sigh* I was hoping not to go through all this since it does take a few hours per upload but then again, it's like seeding for 2 weeks. The purpose of these uploads was to help people finish their games so they could seed. If you've read the past few pages, you can only imagine the joy on my face...<insert sarcasm here>. I get the feeling that the majority of the people currently leeching don't plan to seed...

I'll try to upload the rest. It's a lot better than leaving my computer on all night long.

Is DAP some sort of download manager? I don't know if Spread-it supports download managers. I'm downloading the Disc 1 Part 1 right now and see if it works. Give a few hours as it will be some time before I get to 75mb because I'm getting 30kb/s transfer.

I don't have a download manager so if it works for Medo, it should for you, Ingrams.

As for the downloads, try not to have other things steal your bandwidth. It tends to time out and screw your download. I should've split the discs into smaller pieces but... *sigh* it's kind of late now.

I might try splitting disc one into 10 pieces (~70mb each) and upload that. I doubt I'll have the time to do the others as I'll be losing my university's internet connection.

EDIT: Disc 1 divided into 10 smaller parts. This should decrease the risk of timing out during the download. You're on your own for the others.

Did you burn the game or mount the game?
When you launch the game doese it start to read the disk then stop and give the error. If it tries to read the cdrom drive then you need to disable it with staarforce nightmare or burn the game. put any cd in your drive to test it.

PS tell me your drive configuration ex.

It is easy to burn the game. Just burn with alcohol 120% with securerom and put it in the cdrom drive.

I am saying what you can do is see if when you try to launch the game doese your cdrom drive spin like it is being read?
If yes then you dint hide your cdrom drive from the protection.
And you need to disable your drive better.

If you want the simple way just burn the game and put it in your drive and play the game.

Yes it is an option in alcohol. It is one of the templets in alcohol.

I'll say what I've done exactly just in case ...

-Mounted Cd1,2,3 continously to install the game (my pc language was japanese)
-Replaced the EXE file with the one in the no CD patch
-Used Microsoft applocale to run the game on chinease (first choice in the last 4 .... the 4th from the bottom in other words) while my pc language was still japanese ... and it just worked :kakashi:

Next for xp users you must install this in compatibility mode and run it in compatibility mode.
"you may use a hex editor as well if you are more comforitable with it."

Ok this is a computer gameshark version.

This will let you do anything a gameshark would do only on a pc.

I got this working and it is very easy.

Ok first start your game EX: Thunderforce 2

Next load up the program fpe 2000

Now click on the tab before the last and click the lightbulb.
Then click on [cec]Thunder Force
Then click on the green checkmark.

Now go into a battle and pick what character you want to have infinate health.
now go to our program and click the First tab this is a search tab.
type your character current health in the box and click search.
You should get <1000 results well that is still to many to look through.
So lets damage our character. Then type his new current hp.
Ok thats much better <20 now still to many though.
Lets heal our character then type in his ne hp value.
Yay only 4 results that is workable.
So double click on all the results to add them.
Now we will uncheck all of the boxes on the second tab till only one is on
and we will enter a new number for our characters health. try each of the four till you get the code to work.

here goes um stuck again, this time it looks like I need help chrrox :D .. the second door in the game, after the party got separated, found a doucment in the room top left, then faced a door that asks for ID (it seems) and there r two choices, the second goes back, and the first calls two monsters and keeps calling them every time I choose it :S (good way to collect skill points :P) so how do I open it :D

so u have a language problem :) I'll tell u what I did with language, I just set the game up (first 3 Cds only) (my pc language was japanese then!) replaced the EXE game file with the one in the NO CD patch, then used microsoft applocale to run the game on chinease language while my pc language is still set to japanese (4th choice from below when u run the applocale) and iut simply worked :kakashi: ... as for language u just have to set it to chinease manually or use the applocale ... u have microsoft applocale don't you?! :O if u dont just msg me :D :kakashi:

Acid Rain: the NO CD patch I used is the one Chrrox uploaded, I scanned it and found nothing, and after all ... I dont care if it has a virus since a can play this great game :D lol .... as for details about the other ways ShadowZero gave me, I'll forward them to you now :) :kakashi:

Ok I cant believe people are having this much trouble with this game.

#1 install this game just keep clicking next.

#2 extract the no cd patch wich is an exe file.

#3 right click on the no cd patch and click copy.

#4 navigate to the folder C:\Program Files\TF2
right click in the folder and hit paste hit yes to overwrite the file.

#5 Download and install microsoft applocale.

#6 Run microsoft applocale when it asks you for the program just double click the shortcut and then for the language of the program scroll all the way to the bottom of the choices and chose the 4th one up from the bottom.

Now click on start program files microsoft applocale and you will see a thunderforce 2 icon there click that and the game will start.

"an alternate method is complete step #4 then create a shortcut to this
C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\AppLoc.exe "C:\Program Files\TF2\Tf2.exe" "/L0804"
and that will make you the correct shortcut.

listen do as I will say EXACTLY, turn yr pc language to japanese, restart .. install disk 1,2,3 then rename "TF2.exe" to "TF2.exe.bak" now extract the no cd patch to the game directory (put TF2.exe in the same place as TF2.exe.bak) , run applocale, (u know how to use it right! ) choose the EXE file for the game and choose the fourth language from bottom, I got the same message u showed up but after I did this every thing works fine :kakashi:

Edit: by the way !!! from the pic I guess u didn't use the applocale the right way!!! cuz the error msg language seems to be japanese choose the chinease

Hey Chrrox, you finished the game?! I learned the hero his first skill (costed 100 sp) and it seems to be a passive skill, do u know what it does ? :O


The only passive skills in this game are skills ending in I, II, III etc, which increases the character's "weary" by 20 points. Each character's got at least the first level of this skill learnable. I usually postpone learning it untill I've learned at least one other attack skill.

P.S. There is the original Thunder Force game which is this game's prequel, that game is good as well and uses almost the same sprites as this one except Death and Moon's sprites are changed. That game actually had an opening story pages which told the overall setting, story and each character's bio. I don't know why Dynasty skipped that part on TF2.

I followed medobasha and chrrox, instructions and it works at the first try!!, man first mission looked easy at the begining then more and more came out from the ground, and I was like O yeahhh!!

Ingrams: WEIIIIIIIIIIRD !!!! the first time someone got such an error, anyway try the following, extract (using Alchohol or UltraIso) what's inside the installation disks (the 3 disks) in a folder (considre that forlder the virtual drive) ... and set up from there, that happened with me b4 in another game but this solution worked :kakashi:

note: when you are asked to insert CD2 .. u will have to put it AS IT APPEARS in a virtual drive in the SAME folder (work yr mind out alittle to understand this :D) ... and so with Disk 3 .... lol um prepared to hear the next error come one shoot me :P :D

That is a really weird problem ingram, as I said i followed the instructions,but I just use daemon tools to switch the cds, no need to burn the isos

You're talking about the huge irons doors in the mines in mission 1 right? Just go to the console panel to the right of the door and press inspect 5 times or so untill Death talks to Moon. Moon thinks the weird monks might have dropped something no the ground that can be used to open the door. Do what she says and walk to the iron platform that shoots out poisonous gas. The item you're looking for is not sparking like normal items are, but has its own graphic, and is near the right edge of the platform. Press inspect while on it and you will find the inner part of the 6-sided stone key you found earlier. Inspect the panel again and Death will put the key in but fry the panel. Chariot (the guy with the big guns) says the fuse is burnt and you'll need to find a replacement. Where can you find a working fuse in this shithole? The answer is that computer you saw from 1 room back. So go back to that computer and inspect it and you'll be prompted to one of the easiest minigames of all time; You are shown the circuit box and have to click on the middle connectors of the wires to arrange them so that the same 3 leads connect to the same 3 wires. I.E. red-blue-red wires must connect to the connector that has red-blue-red leads. A few simple clicks will solve this puzzle and the fuse box opens and you get the fuse. Go back to the panel and put the fuse in to get it open.

Just to note, there is one time in this mission right after the teams split into 2, and Death's group finds a grate w/ crys coming from beneath it in a bloody room. After you rendevezous with the other team you have to make a choice whether to go back and save those guys or keep on with the mission, respectively. I never chose the second one, which means I always went back and saved them. Doing this opens up a huge plotline discovery because one of the guys you rescue is a scientist who is very knowledgeable for why things are happening as it is. He tells you in a long-speech why he's captured and why there is an operation here.

Also, later when Death is on his own to search a room, make sure you grab a disk on the ground behind a chair as well as a piece of document from a crate near the northeastern wall.

That's all there really is to know about this mission as it's probably the easiest mission in TF history.

If you want to keep on enjoying the game, don't play saves where you get maxed out stats (which is 99, which you can max by mission 3 anyway), maxed out items or every single skill available. It might be cool for several fights and then it just kills the game for you.

Did you grab that disc off my upload before? If you did, then there's probably a chance your download got corrupted along the way.

Try it on torrent as torrents feature a crc checker.

Wait, so you copied the files onto your hard drive then you install?

Do it from the disc/mounted image as I think the copy protect maybe interfaring with a clean copy.

There's no real reason to copy it on your HDD before installing.

On another note, it is wise to retain from using your SP to buy the very first skill that becomes learnable to each character. Some of those 100 point skills might be the one that raises your max weary, which if you don't have any skills to begin with, then it's quite useless. (note that each character's SP cost for the skill that raises your weary is different and Moon doesn't even get hers until you learn the skill with 3 Chinese characters first (it does 2x damage and 1+ range)) You don't even need to use any skills to win Mission 1 under 'normal' difficulty. Save enough SPs to be able to learn any of the current available skills. Save the game, then choose 1 skill and test it out in battle, if you don't like it then load the save and choose another one.

Here's a basic breakdown of each character's skills:


Magician (the kid): He has two branches to learn, 1 long-range single-target attack spell, and 1 area-of-effect nuke.
initial: Has skill 'stone swarm' which attacks close ranged single targets.
skill 1: increase weary by 20 points
skill 2: Inner fire - damages all enemies in a 5x5 grid block centered on Magician, but costs alot of weary and AP to use.
skill 3: Energy sword - long-range single target attack, sometimes can be more useful than inner fire and costs much less weary and ap to use. (recommended)

Chariot (red trench coat, guns): He has two branches to learn too, 1 is his assault rifle, 2 is his energy cannon.
initial: Has "anger assault" skill which attacks a single target with roughly 1.5x damage of regular assault rifle hit, and hits more range.
skill 1: "light-guided bullet" increases assault rifle accuracy as well as doing 1.5x damage of regular assault rifle. (enemies start to dodge your attacks starting in mission 2 and can get really, really annoying (but much more annoying in TF1)).
skill 2: "increase attack range" skill which doubles cannon attack range as well as making it do 1.5x damage. A very awesome skill. (recommended).

Moon (girl with earphone and mic-set): She's basically the healer/support type, and is really awesome both in person as well as attacks. Can learn all her skills.
initial: Has two skills: Heal 1 which heals herself as well as 4 people adjacent to her for 50% of maximum health. And Cure 1 which cures poison and numbness in similar manner.
skill 1: laser gun: basically uses herm'es as a laser to assault enemies. Does 2x of normal Herm'es damage and raises range by 1. Must learn this to enable "raise weary" skill
Skill 2-4: Each one of those skills does almost the same damage as skill 1 and has the same range, and also adds a status ailment from paralyzation, poison, to decrease stats and disables enemy skill use. (all of those become important in later on missions and bosses)

Strength (Big buff guy): He is the "tank" of the game, having both the Constitution as well as skills to do the job. He has two paths to go too, and I don't really understand the difference.
initial: Has the "barricade" skill which basically protects weaker party members behind him from being attacked by enemies infront of him. Since the zombies and slugs in mission 1 and 2 don't really have ranged attacks, it's kinda useless in TF2.
skill 1: raises weary by 20
skill 2: Double attack (attacks a single target twice)
skill 3: Majestic punch - attacks 3 consecutive blocks directly from Strength for 1.5x normal punch damage, much more useful than double attack).
(note: I don't have TF2 with me on this computer so I can't verify exactly if the order of skills is indeed as described. but you will know once you use the skill.)

Devil (grey/blue colored weird guy): He's an all-around guy.
initial: Has the "rebirth" spell which heals himself amount equal to 60% of max HP.
skill 1: raises weary by 20
skill 2: Poison blade - increases tusk attack power by 2x and adds poisoning to the attack, but only attacks 1 range. (looks cool indeed, but I don't see why choose it over the next skill, which is ranged)
skill 3: Cruel attack - increases talon attack by 2x and can attack up to 3 range away.

Death (blue-hair-covered-face "cool" guy, with scythe) Ah the team captain, is probably the most balanced character in the game, and probably the strongest (duh). Can upgrade in the scythe path or assault rifle path. Both are good paths to choose.
initial: Has the "Shattered Moon" scythe attack which does 1.5x scythe damage and also can paralyze, and looks cool like hell.
skill 1: raises weary by 20
skill 2: Doubleshine scythe attack - basically like shattered moon and does more damage, can paralyze more and has 2x the range.
skill 3: Heaven's snipe assault rifle attack - does 2x the damage of a normal assault rifle attack and has a nice long range of 4.

The blonde martial art chick - a new recruit. Genetically engineered from birth to be a soldier. Has the most overall stat-points of all characters. Can specialize in a close ranged kick and ranged jump kick.
skill 1: raises weary by 20
skill 2: crescent kick - 2x damage of normal kick.
skill 3: S.Slash - jump kick which attacks the 3rd square from the character, does 2x the damage of a normal kick. (So what's the point of choosing skill 2?)

That's basically all. When I go back to my house that has my computer which has TF2 I'll verify the list. But it should provide you with a basic skill information.

I have no clue what CP is though, if anyone knows please post it.

I think you need to use starforce nightmare to disable your real cd drive for your other game medo.

now I guess I know the cause of the problem, look at the size of the torrent you downloaded and the size of the torrent posted .... different huh ? :D ... sometimes when u download things with "save target as" they dont get fully downloaded ... so keep re-downloading it till u succeed downloading the full file :D :kakashi:

Lol it's so strange that people who don't know Chinese are playing this game. There is really much text that has to be read to understand what it's about.

In the second mission you have to search the ground for 3 pieces of a key and a journal and also another item that connects the 3 pieces together. And then you take them down to B2 and inspect over that machine in the top of the room. Chariot will make the key that you can enter Floor 4's huge door. Boss awaits.

on floor 2f and 3f, look around on the ground for an item. They have their own graphics and are not flashing. One of them is behind a glass on 3f. The journal is behind a computer terminal on 2f or something. And there is another piece on 2f on the left corner.

Are you in a room with four flashing lights infront of the doors? They're pulsing at a different rate. You have to enter the door w/ the fastest flashing light first followed by the next fastest light, untill you've entered the slowest flashing door. Then it will solve the puzzle and restablize the doors.

Man, mission 4 is pretty good, now I finally got stuck in mission 5, there is some kind of minigame like "time crisis" on psx, but i need some tips!! I do not have enough accuracy to shoot all those rockets aiming at me, while there is a boss also shooting at me,

Hey! I was wondering if you still had the thunderforce game? is it ok if you can seed the game?
My brother and I go to taiwan every summer, and a long time ago we played the first thunderforce, and even though it is in japanese it is still awesome, with the graphics and everything ( my favorite is the guy with the gun. and the sickle )
but sadly I try my hardest on google to find the game

ehm i went through hell before asking for a re-seed xP i even found direct link for the game ! of 1.29 GB exe !
but there are two draw backs, i cant run the game after all ! even though i managed to do before, but this version is weird, i get a weird chinese msg which opens the main game site i downloaded it from.
2nd draw back is that size after installation is just 1.39 GB that means um not sure about it being even full version.

I have the original Taiwanese version of this game. The mainland China ported version the one that is here and almost everywhere else.

I also have the original version of the first game (Thunder Force 1) as well.
