I wanted to know which version of FFV is better the PSX or the fan translated SNES one? its becase i own both of those version but i dont know which one to play

fan translated is better ( story wise )
but if you reaaly want movies... go for the psx one

yes, i think too. That's why it's difficult to choose.
it looks at this moment most of the votes say the SNES version but i'll wait and see.

Fan translated version, the load times for the psx were terrible (same with FF6)

Since I own both it's hard to choose. But another vote for the SNES version. Because like said it's faster and translated ^^
when i played the psx version i didnt notice any load times.

really?
damn near every port i played (chrono tigger, all the ff that been ported to psx) they have unbelievable load times, chron trigger was the freaking worse think 10-20 secs to change back and forth between inventory menu back to the game :\ The translation however is good, i havent seen any horrible phrases that stuck out of context or anything, but i would stay with the snes since its faster and go with the psx when you want to access the added secrets and CG movies. Snes still wins since it is the best console even today!
I dont have any loading times neither in FFV nor chrono trigger both of them are fine(but not as FAST as the ZSNES emulator).
i checked both of them the translations are somewhat the same but the snes version gives you more details sometimes. but what really annoyed me was farneses pirate accent and when (bats?buttz?) first meets the princess in the PSX version the old man says(we all now that you have the hots for her) to me that sounds kinda lame but in the snes vesion he says(it shows that you like her) here thats normal.
THE SNES VERSION LIKE THEYA SAID IS FASTER AND HAS BETTER TRANSLATION BUT THE PSX VERSION HAS CG AND SECRETS AHHHH IM STILL CONFUSED and i dont have time to play both versions i still have FF4,6,1 and 2 to finish

the poll clairly indicates the snes version
i decided to play the SNES version after looking at the poll. but it looks like i wasted my money byuing final fantasy anthologies. unless there are no differences in FF6
how can you not notice the
horrible loading times? :cool: i haven't
tried ff5 psx version but in ff6 and ct
opening the menu took several seconds
even with emulator. the menu opens
almost instantly in snes versions :eek:

One very good reason about the Fan translated ones are that with the emu you can speed up the battles in game and walk areas in towns. At times it gets tedious.

well in ff6 psx version you
can run without sprint shoes :p
all of the FF's on the PSX you can run in them with the cancel button

SNES all the way.
the moment I saw the pirates say "RUM RUM!" in that first town, I cringed. Sounds so corny compared to the "BEER BEER!" of the fan translation.
