Pretty simple really, who are you favourite comedians?

Thought it'd be good to share as we can all check 'em out (I won't ask how/where you'll get them from); And lets face it....... What's better than a good laugh? (obviously no flaming please, as this should be a happy thread)

so here are my favourite comics at the moment.......

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b314/timrfish/hicks-bill.jpg
Obviously Bill hicks, an icon, and hero of mine. I was lucky enough to get invited to a "bill hicks lives" do where members of his family came along and his friends, really great guy. Big time shame that he's dead.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b314/timrfish/2003-january-mark-thomas.jpg
Mark Thomas - Great guy (looks very serious in this pic) but really really funny. I saw him live when i was 14, I hurt from so much laughing!

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b314/timrfish/2002-october-mark-steel.jpg
Mark Steel - Gives Lectures about history...... but as a comedian!! very funny, and very accurate too. Just saw him a fortnight ago. Check him out if you can.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b314/timrfish/2003-january-rob-newman.jpg
Rob Newman - A mate of Mark Thomas, big in the 1990's, but then travelled Latin America, wrote some books, came back and is still in top form (this guy'd be the hardest to find out of the lot)

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b314/timrfish/2002-october-jeremy-hardy.jpg
Jeremy Hardy - I just think he's great, he did a show called Jeremy Hardy Speaks To The Nation, which was fantasitc (on radio 4). Really very very funny, first time i heard him I thought he soundeed a little bit weird to be a comedian (he almost sounds shy) but his form of humour is unqiue.

Well those are mine (sure i left some off, oh well), all of them have got me through some hard times so in a way i owe them more praise than i gave them; I threw in the pictures to be a smart arse, you guys don't have to if you don't want to (it'd look great tho')

So roll up roll up, who's next (I'm really curious)

Bill Hicks ("chomsky with dick jokes"), Chris Rock (the comedian most talented in the art of comedy), Mark Thomas (clever. sometimes i get a little bored his OTT politick, but he makes good argument) and Robin Williams (f*cking genius) are the 4 greatest stand up comedians i can think of off the top of my head. i may edit this and add anyone i failed to add...but i recommend almost every routine by these guys (i've seen almost all their routines i think...)

Hmm, you know I saw some of Jay Leno's stuff on Letterman from waaaaaaay back and he was super funny. Really dark too, talking about syphilitic circus clowns spraying anthrax spores on little kids :o Of course he's totally sold out since then... Dennis Miller is pretty neat. Another Dennis, Dennis Leary. Glad he's gotten the chance to grow with regards to his show Rescue Me. Chris Rock is good, he's also doing great work in Everybody Hates Chris. Good casting of the kid who plays him, I expect to see more of that actor in the future. I have fond memories of the cast from Kids in the Hall, being a canadian :p Could never understand the appeal of codco however.

I wouldnt think that Jacky chan and Arnie are "commedians" pres'e, Its more there mannerisms which make them funny. Being funny without deliberately making an active effort to do so is more amusing imo

I dont even understand why people think chris rock is funny alls he does is talk shit.
His "shit-talking" stand-up comedy is directed towards the black population. Personally I don't find it funny at all.... but what's great about the guy is his personality. Have you ever seen him on talk shows and other non stand-up apperances? He's hilarious!

Anyways.. from the top of my head..

I think the same. And they are famous in all the world... at least, every place where the people talks spanish. They make me (as any Argentine guy) very proud..
Also I like a lot Umbilical Brothers (Australia)
And dont forget Benny Hill (Eng). Perhaps too old.. but is a classic... the song of his TV-show is used to the present day in many, many other shows...
