Dude, I hate to say this, this is old stuff.
Been out since 2004, and yea, it was a great fight, but seen it too much times.
yes it is pretty old news, but because this is mainly an anime forum, many others may not have seen it yet. thanks for sharing although regarding the info on the vid evo 2k4 wasn't just a streetfighter II tournament. that year it also consisted of soulcalibur, virtua fighter, guilty gear, tekken, streetfighter III and afew others which escape me at the moment. i'm gonna to do u a favor and say to those who post after me "yes we all no it's old and yes we've all talked about it, so lets just give it a rest and post ur thoughts on the subject" kthnx.
regarding the vid i believe that yes daigo is a very talented player but i don't think that justin shouldn't go without credit. imho although it takes a certain degree of skill to pull off what daigo had done, it's nothing one cannot practice in training mode. to me something that should be praised is something done on instinct where one's acute reflexes reward them with a well deserved win. because of the initial startup of the super one is able to see it coming a mile away which gives them more than enough time to react accordingly so it wasn't like daigo had to predict anything. it was simply that justin executed a move and daigo reacted accordingly no yomi layers required. as for jwong, justin's actions r totally understandable, he wanted to be safe and go for the block damage which is exactly what i would've done. however unfortunately for him daigo just happend to have practiced the parrying. i am not a daigo hater i just think, upon further contemplation, it's definitely over hyped but it's still a great moment nonetheless, like i said before, it DOES take a certain degree of skill to pull off parrying a full super.....for that i applaud daigo!

think Daigo got pissed and decided that two can play the game of keep a fair distance... which was why he was kinda doing that poke poke fireball thing forcing Justin to try to win by tick damage.... if he went for Chun Li's mega fireball (is that a super in S3 cos i never played S3 i am assuming from SvX and CvM2) Daigo wun have such a nice time... but really the clip just proved turtling ticks ppl off and Justin picked the wrong day to piss Daigo off..... regardless old or new still a shock O_O
It's Umehara!!! Not Daigo~~~
Dunno why people call him that in the States.
And JWong can suck it.

Not just blocked, parried. The difference between the two is you take a very small amount of damage on a block. Had he blocked, he would've lost. It's the fact that he parried 15 kicks then proceeded to win that blew everyone away.
Despite being old, this is my first time seeing it. Thanks.

I have seen this one before, and it has been posted in this site too (as I remember)
daigo has sensed that the chun-li boy well do the sp. kick move from the way he was trying to do the move while throwing a meaningless kicks, he(daigo) hadn't any chance but to purry the sp. move (man that's hard.....espciealy the air ones, he was a freak a$$kicking lucky )
it just if you purry the first 2-3 hits the rest would be an easy clicking retm
Uh, that wasn't luck.
It just shows that Umehara knows his trade. It is all rhythm after the first hit, but that's still not easy by any means. That kind of stuff only comes from diligent practice.

well, that's mastery for you... even if you can anticipate an enemy move, that doesnt mean 100% you can parry it, even if you work on practice mode everysingle day of your life (ok, that exageration) but still, it's hard to see the distance of chunli's dash before kicking cause i at least know she has a maximum amount of dash, but it can shorten depending on the enemy's position...
not to mention he has a plan already of what to do afterwards... well, with his hit points, he can either jump it which is safe but he might not get a good counter attack, or that dangerous "parry all" which he just demonstrated. most amusing victories are done with high risks

Was there at the event. Screamed my lungs out at the match, and so did everyone else. That had to be one of thee best/greatest moments in any fighting game period.
