real size of a h-game in dvd version

Since there are always more dvd version of h-game, i have noticed that some dvd took more space than they should :

For example "Princess general 2" : the installation took only 2 GB and it can be played without dvd, but dvd itself is 7 GB big.
I ve taken a look inside the dvd, all the files really took 7 GB : not all the data were copied to the hard-disk.

So does it mean that a lot of data inthe dvd were useless, or is there something hidden (like a bonus) in the dvd ? :confused:

Many times, game companies put dummy files, so that the DVD image will be much bigger than necessary. For example, real data for Princess General should be less than 2 gigs. But, dvd image became 11 gigs because of dummy files, and when you installed the game, the game only takes around 2 gigs, because the image did not install dummy files. That's why you see many 'dummy cut' version of games, which cut out dummy files and, in a sense, 'recreated' dvd image. Many times, it's perfectly same as real dvd version, but time to time, dummy cut version also creates minor problems. For example, dummy cut version of Princess General constantly give you error message. Therefore, it was worth for me to dl 7 gig version of Princess General, just to avoid constant error message :)

Some DVDs have dummies, some don't. Here are a few examples:

Princess General (There's a fixed dummy version that removes the error msgs)

And dummies are usually to fill up the DVD or to discourage piracy.

does anyone know anything about the fixed dummy version of princess general 2? i have the huge 11 GB copy, which is way too freaking big, anyone have it? or know where to get it?

For Princess General, once you install the game, you don't need 11 gig image to play the game.

Well I guess so, since it is a normal ADV h-game, it won't some 7 gigs.

DVDPGs won't have conventional dummies, I think.

First I would check the original DVD if it's DVD-5* or DVD-9*. If it's DVD-5 and it contains 7 gigs of files then there are dummies for sure.

Dummies was an old type of copy protection. I had a "2 gigs" game cd, actually there's ~450 MB files on it. At moment I don't know how to evaid this problem but I'm sure it will be solved. I'll inform you guys as soon as possible.

DVD-9 ~9gigs DVD
Because of the consersation from bit to byte one DVD-5 has got ~4.5 gigs.

Well well ,so just download from the H-games sites with CD-size .I downloade Sexy -Beach 2 in 3.9 gigs content ^^ .

You do know that the DVD version of SB2 is only 1.5 GB rared at max, right.
