on January 12 they updated their page with a short teaser flash... and a Clue.

the hint was some hex code. bc c9 cb de d6 d9 b6 b9 de
the result was シノビヨルカゲ

all in katakana but ind the end it was Shinobi Yoru Kage or Stealth Night Shadow.
so for now I'm going to go on a limb and call it that.

and looking at the teaser flash I cant help but to remember the BIKO series from their sister company Illusion.

the only thing I dont like its that the image looks like they're going to use (again) the same engine from the LD series...
Lets hope its actually something decent and not like the last tittle.

The Video doesnt tell you much more than the previous teaser flash. But it says that the "free demo" will be available on 10/02/12

well it could be that FULLTIME is taking over the "dark side" of Illusion too.

I think I'm going to wait for the demo to rename the topic.
but I'm guessing its obviously BIKO

just think of the 2 clues so far and the BIKO logo (a light and dark face with the dark face smiling)

That's why I mentioned the LD engine :XD:

When Love Death 2 (from teatime) was released you could say it was somewhat revolutionary including the bloom effects and light effects. (back in 2007)
And a lot of freedom in the H gameplay adapting to the environment for the positions.

Yet compared to ILLUSION the motions were "stiff". (as you already noticed)
The requirements on the CPU and RAM were so high that they were ridiculous.
The levitated walking. (the models advanced position either faster than the motion. or slower giving a floating effect)
And who can forget the introduction of the web cumming effect? :speechless: ...

Anyway the problem reside in TEATIME never really tried to improve them.
Tech 48 engine actually lowered the CPU and RAM reqs... but I don't think they know about motion capture for the animations lol

so we have been stuck with the same "robotic" motions on the characters ever since.

well let's just hope they try to improve this since they didn't in Nikutai ...
(and frankly since LD4. I'm not buying another TEATIME/FULLTIME game until they start to fix this stuff! )

the keywords in that phrase were "good animator". And so far they don't seem to have one at all.
So even a lousy mocap would be better than a robotic motion routine.

anyway. there was an update on the page. a hint image was added
the text on the image reads (top)"this game is bad" (bottom first row)"the saint game that transcended..." (bottom second row)"Virtual stalker"
as always there is a BUNCH of hexadecimal code in there full of hints (too much trouble to try to translate all right now with my lousy Japanese skills)
and there is a "hidden" clue in the page. (more hex code)

you know... all that talk about "virtual" things started to remind me of interact play VR more than biko lol
anyway. well have to wait and see.

Are they reusing the same models and textures yet again? I just played a bit of Renai+H, and I recognized every model, animation, texture and map that Nikutai used. That much recycling leaves Fulltime even less excuse for making a short game.

The last time I even touched a Teatime/Fulltime game was one of the L/D ones, up until the point the stranded shinigami slid out of the dinning room on her ass while her panties floated three steps behind her.
Maybe I'll risk a look here, but I'm not going out of my way to be enthusiastic about this - I wonder if there will be a rediculous romantic ending to the scenes as well, again.

that's what I'm afraid of.
the last "upgrade" they got in their game system (beside the customization in "custom time") was some small graphic updates (textures mostly) and a more stable engine.
but other than that I haven't noticed any change in TEATIME games since LD2.

they really need to change that engine/system/animation entirely :XD:

which is kind of weird since you can look at some FULLTIME games prior to their "slumber" and they always pushed to use some innovation and the quality from those old games rival and sometimes surpass some recent tittles.

lol well if it's biko you will always have a good and evil endings.
if its Interact play you probably will only see a "bad" ending.

Well at least there is one good thing about all this.
The ( awkward )engine from TEATIME is more than enough for a simple game like biko where all you need to do is move around following your target and the H scene.
now if they fix the animations in both map and H scene then this could be a decent game.
at least TEATIME always had better environment models than Illusion.

You know what would be the most awesome?

* take the multitude of positions, animations, and most important, personalities from Artificial Academy.
* take the character creator from Custom Maid 3d
* make it biko-style gameplay
* bonus points if you get to be a monster

Create your own victim and stalk her through a randomly-generated path, and the different personalities have different behaviors you have to watch out for.

Sadly, this will never be.

This trailer has way too many dropped frames for pre-rendered, wmv-formatted video. Maybe they used some regional version of the codec that the US version isn't fully compatible with? I don't think I could tell anything about the animations or engine; the video itself was too big a technical failure.

The official title seems to be "Virtual Stalker". I would assume barring any delays that release date is the official one as it's also the same on the one listed on Getchu

ok tried out the demo , i have to say fulltime needs A LOT of affords

- control : it's horrible , way too sux , X Z for hiding and C for zooming , and you know what ? move = LMB , YES ! LMB for move lol no WASD which i was expected hold CTRL + LMB is run , RMB to fall back

seriously they need to change the control , my finger hurts after trying out the demo already :abandoned:

- there is less hide options than biko 3 , or i would say only 1 hide option with 2 buttons

- mocap , dont even mention about this , it's the same as the video showed us , terrible

- graphic , i wont say much let's make it short : its graphic level is the same as Tech48 and kasou but 10 times heavier ! looks like they used renai +H engine

- game performance : it runs like shjtty crap compare to that graphic level

- loading time : oh it's fast

- can not ( yet ? ) change blur / bloom level , i hope we can use this feature in the full game

- AA seem doesnt work properly

- only 1 character ?

i feel like this demo is a FACKING BIG BAD JOKE if nothing changes on the full game this will be a failure :nooo:

I wouldn't mind another HCT/LG, if they actually delivered on the modding latitude they promise, provide usable tools and adequate scripting support that you could actually build a scenario with.

But that's Teatime, and Fulltime is trying to distinguish themselves from them. Maybe they could try doing that in a positive way...

The scripting language is pretty simple enough to make a new scenario, there are just too many limitations; you can get a third heroine with a hack, but scripts for a third heroine can break if the load order is wrong. You can't script for more than 3 girls at all. There's no way to turn health and money back on, and too many interface features can't be accessed by script. They fucked the h-styles up, so adding animations for 3-5P is cryptic if at all possible, and so is creating animations for chair/bed/wall/desk/sawhorse, etc. Oh, and the maker is absolute bullshit; it's obvious that the example girls and animations could never have been made with it.

theres a line of pixels from the models wrapping around the screen (try looking at the sky until her skin hits the bottom border, then check the upper border of the game).
Not really professional if you ask me.

it also appears trashcans are mansized in this game. the view doesnt change height when hiding, at least.

Actually the dark-haired girl looks copied from Kasou, and the male model is copied from Kasou through Renai+H and SYL. The blonde looks just like the one from Renai+H and Nikkutai, with a new hair style.

I uninstalled already. it appears like a feedback textbox, but i couldn't enter anything into it. maybe its blocking any non-ime input.
That said, I don't think I'll get this game anyway. The latest biko was twice as good looking and ran two times better despite that.

I translated a bit, and this might be another ontological mystery, in addition to a murder mystery. They're a bit sparing in clues. The guy thinks he's a regular guy, believes he's doing what's natural, seems obsessive and deluded at first, but then it becomes difficult to tell whether he has valid motives. And he keeps coming across clues to the murder of a secretary in the offices he was staking out at the beginning of the game.

Also found more codes inserted in the game, with a hint that if you discover the password, something new will be unlocked.

No interface translations in this, just scripts, so it should be a light download.

I uninstalled already. it appears like a feedback text box, but i couldn't enter anything into it. maybe its blocking any non-ime input.
That said, I don't think I'll get this game anyway. The latest biko was twice as good looking and ran two times better despite that.
well the models in this seems like the standard TT so it should have more polygon count that the latest biko...
I know that doesn't meant better (there is a fine line between good model and waste of detail and processing)

but I agree they always tried to come up with something else that TT didnt have.Well, there were distinct enough differences before the actual split, so much that you could tell two different design teams apart by their games, ie: LD series vs Kasou/SYL. But that's not what I was talking about, they could distinguish themselves in a positive way by not releasing a crappy engine with limited and repetitive gameplay (Eroi3D) or a game so short no one could call it 'full version' (Nikkutai.)

I figured out the keyword for the crossword puzzle, but it didn't do anything other than verify that. That's not the password anyway; you enter that on the title screen by clicking on the shadow in the background. I would guess the clue is in the bytecode; not sure if my Japanese is up to solving it, but I haven't really concentrated on it yet. btw elfdrow, did you convert those characters by hand, or is there an automatic converter you can run it through?

I was wrong about that. I didn't solve the crossword, I knew the keyword from translating the minigame scripts. But solving it in game doesn't unlock anything new, and the same word doesn't work for the password on the title screen. I'm pretty sure the cryptext are clues to that, but the crossword might have clues, too.

EDIT: I went ahead and did this shit by hand.

In case you don't know where they are: the first bulletin board is in the parking lot across the street to the right from where you; if you run, you can catch it and get to the second, which is directly forward from where you start, by the time Rei is halfway across the street. The third bulletin board is left of the final T-intersection, the opposite direction from the end of the scene.

as far as I know it was ANSI so there should not be a problem.

and I think you are right the password requested in the start screen asks for the "hidden password" in the FT homepage...

the problem is that the 4 clues in katakana don't fit the space.
so I tried converting them to kanji but no luck so far.

maybe you need to input a solution to the riddle but....

(already tried bikou 尾行 :XD: )

Yeah, now I know I'm right. The bytecode in game translated vaguely to, "There's a hidden button in this demo, look for a white surface next to the lottery vending machine."

It's the one right past the shop, if you stand in the right spot in that splash of light on the ground next to it, you'll get a little fanfare and the message, "Look for the hidden password on the FULLTIME website"

All the effort to figure out what I already guessed.

Alright. So I took a look at the GetChu H screenshots, and they look interesting. Hopefully even if the animations are recycled, they improve on them - I know See You Lover's H animations were a joke. I also downloaded the demo and will try it out sometime. I hope we'll be able to uncensor the game, because that censoring in those screenshot look horrible - block dick? Bleh.

EDIT: Looking at the screenshots, what's the "<something> LOST" bar mean? Is it how much the girl doesn't know you're there? I see they also brought back the face that changes color, etc. Hmm...

キャラ = kyara = char = abbreviation for character

"キャラ lost" is basically is the bar that displays how long the character has been away from your sight. if the bar drops to 0 your lost them and its game over.
you can refill the bar by getting closer to your target.

Hm. Could translate that story, but I don't think it's anything you couldn't figure out from the demo scenario. Synopsis: Onoyuki Hiroyoshi is a huge fanboy of idol girl group FTM69, especially the blonde Japanese (?) Rei. He watches her leave a group planning meeting and walk through the streets on her own, an implausibility he doesn't quite connect with the rumors of a Rei look-a-like even after watching her act out of character, and so he heroically stalks her for her safety, and maybe a chance to defend her and have her affections lavished on him.

Gawd. I haven't chuckled so hard.

So we have a guy that can hide in a bin and run around in his boxers. And without a head (or was that just a glitch at the time of screenshot?). I have a feeling they took a page out of Metal Gear Series and decided to give the guy ability to use boxes and such to hide in.

I've yet to try the demo, but what happens when the girl is blue? Does she become hostile or does she just look at you and wonder what you're doing there?

The game wasn't choppy as I thought it would be as the last LD-engine game I've played was LoveDeath 4 (See You Lover was another one I have played but I think it uses a different engine). I got a few Game Overs, mainly because of the control setup, I accidently ran towards the girl when she was exclaiming "??" and then she exclaimed "!!". I thought you had to enter the convience store first playthrough, so I was like "yeah, I'll just open this door.... Wait a minute, how do I open doors? *girl appears, she goes ?? almost immediately* Oh shi-!!!" Cute voice though. I noticed that the model clipping is an issue, for example, the guy's boxers was clipping through his pants so it looked like his jeans had been ripped around his ass. As for the girl, I could see her panties 99% of the time, unless the game decided to "cover" them up.

well I think the engine has proven more than enough to handle this kind of game so far (we still have to see an actual H scene)
the animations well... they still walk a little robot like.

maybe my biggest disappointment so far is the environment.
no matter how much AA and bloom effect you throw they still look like card box buildings and cars :P

that and that TT have not done a decent grown up model of a heroine for a while.
they think:
same model + big breasts = ooo look it has breasts! is a grown up! :giveup:

edit: btw I don't think that translation is accurate but it gives some idea of wth is going on on that so I added a link to it :P

There are definite differences between this engine and the LD/LG engine, and they've both been improving. But we won't really know until we see how it loads all maps; can it handle the huge maps that SYL had?

I'm not sure what I expect out of this game, but I'm still working on it; got the dialog text corrected and half the interface translated. Just letting you know in case someone else thought about doing that but doesn't want to duplicate efforts. The interface translation will be done before the game releases, so at least the foundation for future translate will be laid, whoever does it. I'm not making any promises, it depends on the full game.

Last update on the 2nd of this month. It looks like a 'Let's Play' for the demo, with commentary by someone else who likes to ride the left CTRL. I didn't know you could enter that trash-can across from the vending machine Rei stops at, but it's kind of pointless, since it puts you out of reach and it doesn't prompt her to continue on any sooner. I didn't see any new codes.

I tried that, but the collection their survey compares for is pretty small and standard. I found two sites that attempted to match just from the image, neither of them could, so I went sifting through hundreds of them on other sites...I think I should be looking at Japanese-made fonts specifically. I believe this was made for and used by another Japanese game, I just can't remember where I saw it before.

I think they have some good ideas, the problem is the way they use them(Also I think they could improve some stuff like their graphics, controls and animations).
Still it looks a funny game.

For example, on TEATIME LD series, we have free roam, shops to buy items, character customization, etc. That's some good stuff but their problem it's they recycle too much and don't improve what they already have. When they put some new content they take out some good stuff. But it's only my opinion.

So if they have a new game wich is the same as the previous one but with different names, why don't improve graphic / performance / animation?
It would give some more work but I think they would have better games... or not :P

But we all share different opinions, so it also depends on the audience in question.

I have Biko 3. Well it depends, Biko 3 have 2 ways of endings: Good End & Bad End. Good End if you do it gently, & Bad End if you do it forcefully. :sweet:
