Domestic Gundam Model Kits

Is there a difference, quality wise, in the domestic (U.S) "action figure model" HG 1/44 scale model kits and the japanese versions?

pretty much the same thing, usually just repacked in US box with english instructions while removing distinction between HG,MG, and No-grade kits into Skill Level system(more parts means higher skill level, which is kinda stupid IMO). Although most domestic gundam kits are on clearance prices since Bandai USA discontinued domestic gundam kits from the market

I have the Char's Custom Saku 1/144 japanese and a friend has the america, the american comes with a crockcript asn with english instruccions, that's all.
