They've done a really good job with Shinobuden, considering the fact that even in Japanese, the series makes no sense. lol

I haven't gotten to any of their other work yet, but I've heard nothing but good things.

well so far the only fansubs i've got of DeathSquad is the Sweet Valerian eps. they're not bad, and there encoding is quite good. although they don't release much so i can't comment on it too much

No crime in doing 1 or 2 series only. In fact I think a group should just stick to 1 or 2 series a season ~unless they are a super huge team which of course does not exist~. I've seen too many groups pick up a lot of series and then tiring themselves out, which leads to them either droping the series or breaking up.
I can't really comment on the quality of DeathSquad subs since I never saw any of their releases. I'm not saying that I don't like their it's just that I've decided to stop getting subs after too many bad experiences with them being abandon. Anyway kudos to DeathSquad for their job. I wish them the best of luck.
Subbing is a thankless job. You're only as appreciated as your last release.

I haven't watched anything by them personally, but spotted this on 4-ch concerning their release of Windy Tales:

"I know I've been told they aren't that bad and that there isn't that much dialogue, but MAN, they ARE bad (so many 'to's instead of 'too', several wrong cases of plural/singular, just regular stuff that could easily have been corrected with ONE session of checking) and it PISSES me off."

They seem to have dropped that series so it's a moot point now, but X18999, it would be nice if you could have the gang QC a little better in the future. ^_^

The problem with DS is that they need to learn definition of "quality checking."

The constant, obvious typos within the first three-four episodes of Shinobuden kept me wanting to slap myself. I have no idea if they've improved with more recent releases, but eh.

I agree, the typos can get a little annoying. But still a great anime, and Ayu has subbed it as well
