This site (http://tasvideos.org/) has alot of speed runs avalable in avi format or emulator movie files. They're all performed on emulators, which means that they're not perfectly legit speed runs, but they are awfully impressive looking.

Too bad there's no way to verify console runs. I know for the famous Mario 3 one a while back, the guy was actually using an emulator to slow down the frame rate and effectively play the game in slow motion, save the replay and record it at normal speed.

Hey cool!

Glad to know the community I'm from is gaining popularity. And we're not getting flamed either for being cheaters and hackers. That's good to know. ^^;;

You can also find some pretty neat (and legit) speed runs at SuperPlay (They have a few domains, uk and .de being a few) and Speed Demos Archive as well.

A completed project you see on there takes months to do, so don't think it's easy. =) My StarFox run (well, it's not going to be done anytime soon) is estimated to take at least a year to finish on all 7 worlds, beating the World Record by about 100-200 hits or so.
