I read about this game an GameSpot months ago but I haven't heard anything since the announcement. The only format it listed was Japan ARC and I just wondering if it ever came out. I'd kill for a US PS2 release, but considering Evolution sold worse than pre-owned bandages, I'm assuming it's doubtful. Any info?

It's out for a long time in the arcade.

it's been out but i have heard it's far worse than evolution.
they messed up some balance issues and stuff like that.
made tekken 4 look good or so
I happened to buy both VF4 and VF4evo...(more than to be a collector, I am a fighting maniac...:P)
so does this one, I will have bought whenever it comes out.

I wouldn't know. All I have is Evo, and that's a pretty good fighter that kept me occupied for three months in the Fighting Games department. ^_^
Yea, it's been out for a while to my knowledge... but most competitions prefer Evo.

I have not played this new VF release yet, but as far as i know, is nothing but a technical update. Mostly new moves; this is evident in characters like Wolf, that shows a large number of recent (or less) WWE - NJPW - AJPW - NOAH* heavyweight division finishers in his arsenal. E.g. Brock Lesnar's F5 (WWE), Toshiaki Kawada's Dangerous Backdrop (AJPW), Mitsuharu Misawa's Emerald Frosion (NOAH), Kenta Kobashi's Half Nelson Suplex (NOAH) and so on...
I've noticed cool moves added, and i wish to play only for that... but i'm not sure whether recommend this game or not. :)
*major world's pro wrestling federations. Apart from USA's WWE, the japanese insert HUGE amount of japanese pro-wrestling in their games, manga & anime. About half or more of a moves arsenal of a pro-wrestler character in a videogame is due to japanese pro-wrestling influence, and even the kung-fu-or-other-based characters show at least one or two pro-wrestling moves (e.g. in VFEvo, Kagemaru got the shiranui, spectacular finisher move of NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji). The major leagues in Japan are All Japan Pro Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH.
