As some of you may know, I run [Unofficial] HF-Meganekko-no-Megami here and one of the most things about the club is the amount of artwork and pictures posted here featuring beautiful maidens in glasses.

A couple of the most important rules that we have in the club are that the pictures must be posted in thumbnail format for bigger pictures mainly and spoiler tags must be used for Ecchi/Hentai pictures as well.

So far, everything's been going swimmingly well with the club [after all, over there's been over 17,000 pageviews so far!] but now for some odd reason Desmonthes who's not even a Mod in the Club House area of the board is complaining about the fact that the spoiler tag is supposedly being misused and that it shouldn't be used for the purpose of Ecchi/Hentai pictures whereas I say it should be used for said pics which is why I'm creating this poll for you, the members to decide on who's right at the end of the day...

Stop going on about this, first off Desmonthes is a Super Mod, in other words, he patrols the ENTIRE site, secondly the spoiler tags weren't the problem, the problem was wasting bandwidth with HUGE non-thumbnailed images.

I didn't even know that he's a Super Mod... It's not as if his profile has "Super Mod" as a title... And also if he had a problem with the pictures, why did he take so long to mention the problem rather than wait till the thread got big enough before he did so? [I'm not having a go at you or Desmonthes but I am concerned that he left things so long concerning this and I don't think that the people who were more than generous to post the pictures but didn't post them in thumbnail form wouldn't be too happy to be asked to edit their posts and repost them in said thumbnail form...]

He might have just come across the non-thumbnailed pics when he posted about it, still I don't think it means all the posted pics have to be thumbnailed now, it just means that from now on make sure to use thumbnails. and if the pics are hentai/ecchi use of spoiler tags is fine, as long as the images are thumbnailed.

That's why I clearly stated in the rules section of the first post on Page 1 in the first place about using thumbnails to post pictures... I have no problem about reiterating that on the current page of the thread but I was a bit upset as I mentioned before about the possibility of having to ask all the other members to repost the non-thumbnailed pics in a thumbnailed format...

Borgman, if you are the creator of said forum then it is up to you to enforce the rules. If you have a rule posted then you are responsible for making sure all post abide by that rule. If someone violates the rule then you should PM them and have them correct it. Des most likely just came across the problem which is why he mentioned it. As Kotonoha mentioned the spoilers are used to save bandwidth and not so much as to hide the images from co waorkers or spouses eyes.

Most image threads here on HF ask to use spoilers for non thumbnailed images. It doesnt mean you have to go back and ask members to edit past post, but it does mean that you need to monitor and makes sure members from that point on abide by the rule. If you are goint to create a thread that has rules and allows posting of images and such then it is your responsibilty to enforce those rules. If a person won't abide by or listen to you then click the ! button and have the post deleted. Its just that simple. Having a poll on this topice is just a waste since it seems the only person concerned is yourself.

Yes, I know it's up to me as founder of the club to enforce the rules but because the club's been growing in leaps and bounds since it started [after all, we do have the most pageviews of all the unofficial clubs out there] and also because I'd been busy with my iPRO course a lot of the time, I didn't get the chance to check the pictures and in any case, I will be enforcing the rules strictly from now on.

As for the spoiler tags being used with Ecchi/Hentai pics, I think a few people are missing the entire point here about why I insist on people using them when posting the pictures... I insist on the tags being especially used when posting pictures of that kind because I want the members to be able to post pictures that are both regular and Ecchi/Hentai and at the same time, I don't want to get anyone who's viewing them in trouble if they're looking at them in certain places...

I'm sorry if some people disagree with me but at the end of the day they're entitled to their opinion and I'm entitled to mine...

Well I'll just say if your allowing images to be posted that could be considered not work safe then you are in violation of the general rules of the forum. Non worksafe images should be resticted to the Hentai section. It is understood that upon entering that section that you are 1: old enough to be in there, and 2: Acknowledge you may see something offensive or non work safe.

It is general knowledge that one should not have to be concerned with seeing non worksafe images outside of the hentai section.

Just look at the gallery for a guideline. Even ecchi is considered hentai even though most images are nothing more then underwear. That could still get you in trouble at work.

The bottom line is. If your outside of the henati section, you should not be allowing hentai or ecchi images even with a spoiler. I havnt looked at the other clubs. But I'm willing to bet they to are in violation of these general rules as well.

This is something admin may need to look into as it seems some image posters have been allowed to slip outside the rules. Even the club and fandom section should fall under the same rules as the gallery. Even if it means a subsection for hentai and ecchi be added to that section of HF. A person should not be able to see hentai or ecchi images outside of the hentai areas. ALL other areas are supposed to be considered work safe.

all clubs are by definition "non-worksafe" area (since the beginning).

therefor spoiler shall only be used if the pic actually is a spoiler (from the context) - not to hide images.

there is the image-attachment. it only shows an unidentifiable thumbnail.

First, use spoiler tag to hide image(s) happened before, but it's becomming purely abusing, especially when you click on spoiler tag to see more than 2 or 3 of pictures with resolution bigger than 800x600.
Second, I just ask to stop, not to correct all the previous posts :p
And about not work safe content in club forum, I'll discuss with others staffs

*Head starts to spin at having to change things once again concerning the posting of pictures...*

At the end of the day, all I want to do is to run a club which is well liked here and where people can discuss Meganekko and post pictures of Meganekko whether they be Hentai/Ecchi pictures or normal pictures...

On another note, a lot of people who post the pictures regardless of genre usually use sites like Fapomatic or Photobucket to post the pictures.

The image-attachment option is a promising idea for Ecchi/Hentai pictures although I'm concerned that certain people will complain because it probably won't post any proper thumbnail links but I will put it to a poll here or within the club itself...

Of course the clubs have been non-worksafe since the beginning... After all, there's HF-Loli and HF-Hentai amongst other clubs which are definitely non-worksafe...

Hmm, I think it might be a good idea for the people who doesn't have their own computer or have their annoying sisters or brothers come into their rooms without any warning

I've posted a new poll which can be found here (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58994) concerning whether the Image Attachment option should be used for the posting of Hentai/Ecchi pics.
