feeling any hairs standing on the back of your neck yet? i though the game was awsome. i'm at the train part and just can't get enough. the best part so far was the cut scene introducing the skeleton with the rocket launcher and the big walking piece of flesh with bazookas as it's arms. ancient doom2 memories :D

I am still at the hmmm part that just entered a new base and the dude saying he will bring this horror to earth. Haven't been playing lately coz of work. BUT this game is really awsome and scary. I mean it did freak me out few times when a monster suddenly just jump out. THis game is good yes. But like games that u you fight humans better instead of monsters. hope they can make something like that. so far all the good shooting game are all about fighting monsters....

Online play for doom 3 isn't that good. compare to doom3 i still like CS better for online style first person shooting.

The game scared me the first couple of places after you start seeing portal taking effect but then it seemed too normal. Maybe playing horror games too much and relieving yourself of fear of the paranormal doesn't make horror games as scary. Last part was hilarious :D .

Seeing many positive feedback of the game, it might be worthwhile to take a look of this game ;) Just need to wrap some Final fantasy games before starting a new game.

Agreed. Graphics are frickin' awesome tho. There were quite a few places when I jumped out of my seat... note to self, don't play horror games in the dark...

In the beginning the game is freaking scary, but in the end you get so used to it that you can tell where the monsters spawn before they arrive. happened more than one time i sprayed a dark room before i dared enter it.
*oops, didnt see that friendly marine who was hiding in there :p *

Get a better PC it's worth it not jsut for doom 3 for many other games as well. I use pc everyday but i hardly play my consoles so i perfer PC over console for games. I wish they could just release on games on PC instead having to buy the console for different games. Like i brought Dream Cast for shamu and PS2 for final fantasy and tenchu. hardly play my console for other games... :(

Half life 2 got pushed back to 2005?!!?? DAMn they just not gonna release it.......

is it true that in the XBOX version, there will be a coop mode that you could play over XBOX LIVE? if that's true, it will be so awesome. :)

The graphic card in XBOX is only a geforce 2, which is pretty outdated when compare the geforce 4 6800 which is out in the market right now.

is this a game that will make me wet myself or give me a heart attack?
this helps me in the decision of buying the game lol.

You will get a hearth attack the first time you meet some enemies. All is quiet and then suddenly all hell breaks loose(literally):)

hmm when I played resident evil on gamecube the first time I almost did have a heart attack is the freak out factor higher than RE? some people tell me RE wasnt that scary well I think its just the sudden events the monsters on RE arent too scary Doom 3 I think would have some scary looking monsters and some spine shivering growls or screams (the screams being me that is) :o
anyway also would you say its the scariest game you played?

i haven'th played to many horror games, but i've played one of the RE games and ive seen the RE movie, and doom 3 is far more scaryer than those two.

:Dhere I am:D
game is so linear, not much choice, but the most furious is that you can use flash light at the same time even if you are using pistol.
No attachment for weapon and some weapon aren't useful as they seem to be
beside you can save anytime, so there's no more thrill

You can get a mod , "ducktape mod" i think, that adds flashlight to the assault rifle, shotgun and pistol.

For this game too scare the shit out of you I suggest you do this:

1. Only play this game late at night when no one's around.
2.Crank your speakers up to the max.
3.and get a better comp because smoother graphics on a scary part of this game is good. Because If a monster jumps right in front of you and the graphics start to jitter and lag then it aint gonna be that scary. And get a good sound card also.
4. And make sure that your in a room where its completley DARK.

But overall this game is freakin crazy. even the when I set it to 800X600 GFX=Med it still looks great. The lighting and shadow effects are awesome and the atomosphere that the game puts you in matches the game itself.

Great game but if you plan to put the settings on Ultra High then I would suggest to either get a graphics card with it's own 512MB of ram or get one that has 256MB of ram and set the AGP Aperture size to 256MB. Because this is how it is in doom3's graphics settings:

Low-64MB Vram
Med-128MB Vram
High-256MB Vram
Ultra High-512MB Vram.

Well, my computer can't handle the game too. Just have to wait for a new one, hopefully by year end.

I let out a series of small screams when I was playing the demo, and that was in the day time.

It was SUCH a boring game, until I uninstalled it and put Thief 3 in its place. Then PCGamer up and said that you should be playing it an hour at a time, Veteran skill. Oops.
But I swear, Doom 1 had much better levels. What a pity.

I finished Doom 3 two days and a half after getting it for Christmas. I just couldn't put it down. I loved it, but maybe that has something to do with growing up playing Doom. I went in expecting a pretty straight-foward action game. I got that, and alot more. It saddens me that I've seen so much hatred towards this game. I just went in knowing that I wasn't gonna be playing the "Game of the Year". :P

Doom 3 is a masterpiece. As for being scary, I say there were only a few times when I was genuinely scared in the game, but it is always extremely tense.

I always hate it when the human marines appear. They are scary. The monsters aren't so bad. Just use the BFG9000 when you need to.

You havent played Doom 3 until you are trying to dispose of toxic waste to enter an area when a zombie runs behind you outta nowhere, and you bop him on the head with your flashlight and he dies. :D
