I try to reconnect the HongFire Tracker many times, but it keeps showing the refuse notice.
Looks like there are some problems with the Tracker(Overload? may be) .
Hope the Hongfire's servers are OK.

I have a connection error too. Azureus reports a connection refused exception.

Yup, tracker offline it seems. Those poor Xeons that work so hard.

It may be the time for maintainance.

This is the kind of problem that affects all torrents on the tracker.

no worries chaps, if you read the announcements you'll see HongFire himself is aware the dual xeon servers are experiencing tech difficulties and that they're already working on it. tracker will be down for a teensy bit, nothing to fret about, ne? just do as i'm doing, going to go to sleep after work with the hopes it'll be up when i wake up...and if it's not...well, i'll hope for the same thing each day til it's back. patience isn't a virtue, it's something hard earned (kinda like money....but money is spent faster then patience :-/ ). nighty-o!

Got the same probb aswell...
93% downloaded fairly large torrent then i had to reboot... afterwards - < urlopen error (10061, 'Connection refused')>
Perhaps maintance is what it needs or just a breather, hope it will be ok soon

or throttle the amount of guest activity

I'm sure something will be figured out...or if all users (a few thousand?) donated $1 each, that would be a few more servers I would imagine?

Things would go a lot more smoothly if you did what sonsaku said and actually do something to help rather than complain. Donate a bit of money instead of just leeching, even if it's not that much it's better than nothing.

Throttling guest activity wouldn't make a lot of sense. Lots of other sites (Box, The Pirate Bay) don't shut out users completely (though they do IP bans on abusers, I remember reading) and run fine.
Look at it this way. What's to stop "guest" users from signing up, then abusing the system in the same way (save for being registered this time)? Sure you might get a little more control, but I don't see a difference in the long run.
I don't think throwing more money at the problem (e.g. new server) is the solution at this moment. It would help, but, lets just see if the problem can be fixed (tweak code, better load balancing, a 2.6 love-sources kernel or even maybe OSX/BSD? *grin* <3 OSX), _then_ donate even more money to HongFire ^^
So now I'm rambling and very sleepy, so I'll just stay silent now ^^;;
And to be fair, I'll be donating as soon as I get PayPal set up ^^

I completely agree with Sonsaku so i went ahead and donated money to HongFire. Hope everyone can do the same to help out with the HongFire community. As for everyone, let's just wait patiently since we know the tracker will be up and running soon.

Is there any option to donate if we are not allowed to have a PayPal account; I'd love to donate but cannot for this reason.

I personally don't know of another option, but if you PM Hongfire or a moderator I'm sure they'd be glad to help you. Anyway, it's really simple and quick to setup a paypal account, if you have a credit or debit card - http://www.paypal.com/

Like i said before, hongfire should ban people who have low share ratio,or don't share at all.
