What are you all time favorite arcade games? I'm a fan of the Rush series and I love Rush 2049. My local arcade receantly got Rush 2049 again (They had it once before but got rid of it) so now I'm happy. Only the one works and the stearing weel is messed up but oh well.

I also enjoy the orginal Crazy Taxi and Soul Calibur II. As well as the good old claw game. So what do you enjoy playing at the arcade the most?

My favorites have to be ones that I played in the arcade for a serious amount of time...so that would be:

Street Fighter II
Mortal Kombat III
NBA Jam
Time Crisis (I spent so much time playing this, that I started memorizing all the enemy patterns...lol)
Dance Dance Revolution
Beatmania
Beatmania IIDX

and one that most people are probably not too familiar with:

Derby Owners Club World Edition...

...a game that I spent way too much time and money on... :( :p

Initial D is very hot in Toronto. Played in every arcade (that has one) in Toronto. Everyone gets too good though.

I'm one of the few lucky people that has a "magic key", this means I can play arcade games for free! :D :D
I have friends who work in the arcade industry :p so I spend literally hours playing Crazy Taxi, Star Wars and Sega Rally. Plus a whole load of new stuff that hasn't been released yet.
My favourite arcade game has to be Time Crisis 2, nothing compares to that when there's 2 players. I'm hoping to get a second hand dual screen one in the near future.

Favorite arcade games of all time?

Garou: Mark of the Wolves (A joy to play in the arcade. Makes Street Fighter III look like CRAP)
Beatmania IIDX (AAA on STARMINE ANOTHER, BABY)
Dance Dance Revolution (One great on Xenon and still trying.:()
Time Crisis 2 (Best shooting game EVER)
Ms. Pac-Man (Avoiding ghosts is training for dodging bigger creatures in 3D games)
The Last Blade 2 (Takes time to get good at THIS game)
King of Fighters '99 (Some people say '98, I say '99)

The only games I HATE are Psikyo shooters like the Strikers series. Cave is so much better.

BigChef

King of Fighters '98 (hands down best fighting game all-time :P, and sorry crys but to me '99 is complete rubbish)
DDR
Garou: mark of the wolves
Virtual cop 3
Metal slug (all of them)
GGX2
Street Fighter zero 3
Outrun (both 1 and 2)

Xenophobe was a rare but very good 2-d shooter I used to play. Spent hundreds of dollars playing Spy Hunter, Defender, Millipede and Tron, too. I like the older games better. Oh, and of course Skee-Ball! I won enough tickets over the summer once and got the big stereo system. The thing was a piece of crap, though. :(
A waaaaaaaaaaaaay long time ago when I was maybe five there was this one old game that actually had a small movie projector and screen in it. The object was to shoot these cowboys who walked onscreen and threatened you. If you shot them you'd see a clip of them falling down the staircase or whatever. Maybe it's not technically a "video game" but it really impressed me!

I'm surprised you didn't mention some older titles like SF2:world warrior (still don't get why the black guy and blonde guy weren't in the game yet they were in the opening theme.), time crisis, marvel vs street fighter, tekken 2, and DDR.

The Simpsons and MK series

Those were the last arcade games I played. To me the arcade is just a waste of time and money.

It would definitely be Pang or Sunset Riders. Remember using the weeks pocket money on the arcades in the space of an hour. Those were the days...

Metal Slug

Firefly00
06-15-2005, 11:11 AM
Search and Rescue (SNK)
Rolling Thunder (Namco)
Space Gun (Taito)
Aliens (Konami)
Ghost Squad (Sega)
Virtua Cop series (Sega)
Time Crisis series (Namco)
Gunblade series (Sega; comprises Gunblade NY and LA Machineguns)

When you get the opportunity, watch the entire title/backstory sequence for LA Machineguns; POTUS in that game looks a heck of a lot like Michael Douglas (who did play that role in The American President).

MVC2
Virtual games (Any of them)

P.S. Old school? You BET I am! And I'm surprised nobody said "Jojo's Venture" (later re-released as the more properly named "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure" on the Dreamcast and PS1). I mean you beat people up as a POed pit bull! How sweet is that!? :)

haha, I would so say jo jo's bizarre adventure but I can't get my hands on it. No emulator for cps3 >__<. Hard to find a DC/ps1 image/meat copy as well.

edit: I take that back, fonud a dc image.. now I just need a DC....
