i bought this movie a couple of months back its pretty good. i'm a big fan of 'beat' takeshi and i've been following his work since i was a kid.

its not that there are a lot of remakes, its like james bond, where each one had a different story.

i am a big fan of kitano's work , so i cant wait to see this movie.
my schools egtting it soon, so i can see the dvd for free.

I remember watching this in the theater earlier this year with a large group of friends - and I saw people walking out of it because of the violence. I rarely ever see that happen at the movies - nobody walked out when I saw Saving Private Ryan or The Passion of the Christ, which were far more violent films, IMO.

Ah, well, you can't please everybody.

I really liked Zatoichi's story, but the obvious digital blood with each sword hit was a bit distracting. The characters remined me of 'Samurai Fiction' which came out back in 2000 I think.

i just saw this film to many loong filers they should shorten those dancing etc and that goofy unatural blood efects were kinda dissapointing . btw was he blind or not ? .......nevermind i know answer

It's worth watching but I wouldn't run out and buy the dvd. Personally I liked the older movies with Shintaro Katsu.

i havent seen the new one yet. But ive seen a couple of the old ones like Zatoichi vs the one armed swordsman.

Allthough i really like the Zatoichi films i think Yojimbo is a bit better.

i finally saw it recently and well i like it but then again show me a Takeshi flick i don't like :D ( i love that twichy bastard :p )
although it could have done without that weird ass dance number at the end as for the gore it's not very realistic i've seen better !
it's the flying body parts that unnerve some folks when infact u.s. flicks are by enlarge more violent but the asians will show more details !
