Bemani Games?

I know they're a bit old now, but anybody out there still playing DDR and Guitar Freaks and the such? I used to be a big DDR freak that could AA songs like Rhythm and Police...but then I went to college and got fat and lost my endurance, lol. So now I play Guitar Freaks a lot more than DDR.

Back in my DDR career though, I have a few high finishes in Tournaments...

I finished 2nd in a PA tournament once, and 3rd in a Freestyle! It was fun ^^

I have one AAA. It's on "My sweet Darlin'" on Standard level ^^

I'm not as good at Guitar Freaks unfortunately, so I don't have any impressive records for that.

yea I play DDR all the time. I've goten AAA in rythm and police, can't stop falling in love, drop out, dead end, afronova, whole bunch of other songs :P Nvred AAAed anything though, I've goten quite a few SDGs (single digit greats) but no AAAs. And that only at home, at the arcade I nvr goten a sdg. If I get my digi cam any time soon (should come within the next week or so) I'll post some vids of me playing :)

I still play Beatmania with simulators, have played in a while now, though. Not as good as the real deal, but I left all of my games at my old house.

I've been playing DDR for a year and a couple months. I'm also heavily into the music of Beatmania, and I can pull it off on a sim pretty well, but I haven't had much opprotunity to play the real thing, so I think I kind of suck at it with an actual controller. Keyboard is way easier than one of those things. I kind of picked up on Pop 'N' Music, too, and I seem to be better at that than Beatmania (with an actual controller, that is), but again, haven't had many chances to play it.

Getting to this thread a little late. :p

Anyways, I used to play DDR all the time. AAA'ed a bunch of light and standard songs...and one heavy song... Butterfly Heavy. lol I've Black Flagged a lot of heavy songs though (1 great) like Love Shine, Freckles (Sobakasu), Kind Lady...all those easy songs. :p

Nowadays, I mainly play Beatmania IIDX at home and occasionally at the arcade. That could be the reason why I've gained some weight in the past few months...lol

Funny that I see this having just pulled my PS2 out for a quick go on DDR Max JP.

I have been playing DDR on and off since late '97 when it first hit the test arcade over here in London. We got it at the same time as Tokyo :D

That was when I started playing Beatmania roughly too... you can give or take a little on the date as I am getting rather old now.

The only Bemani I don't have on console is PS/PS2/DC Pop n' Music despite it being my favourite now. Sadly I can only play on the arcade and that's nowhere to be seen in this country, that also coincided with me trying to save money and deciding not to import the whole lot of them. Next time I hit Japan I'll pick them up.

That would mean I own all the available Bemani on the PS/PS2/DC/N64/GBC/Wonderswan. Xbox doesn't count :p

All my stamina is now gone thanks to work getting heavier and less time to bum around at the arcade, you tend to look too much like a pervert when the average age is 15 and you're 26.

I've never been hardcore enough to AAA any songs but a SDG on So Deep Heavy is my pinacle. All songs up to Max2 passed and only a few elusive 10's on Extreme remain unpassed (Hello PSM!)

Just as a heads-up, this evening I will be posting a pack of all the GBC Bemani Roms. Beatmania, Pop n' and DDR ;)

Like really late or afternoon or something... but yea we got guys like that at our arcade (only worse, some of them are 30+) its pretty messed :p U know when ur pushing 40 and still hanging out @ arcades something is wrong :rolleyes:

Last DDR I played was... lemme remember... 4th mix. I so way outdated. I'm decent, but not that good.

The bemani series that catches my attention now is/are Guitar Freaks Drum mania series. Again, I'm not that good, but I'm decent. Anyone here play GFDM? Session mode just plain rocks.

I've played both GF and DM, both fun, but I prefer GF over DM for some reason, I don't know why, maybe because I'm better on it than DM..:P but the Bemani game I play most is IIDX! best ever. I have all the home styles and all but my ps2 broke so I can't play anymore, been pretty long since I played..:(

I've been doing DDR for about 3 years now, and I have to say that I'm still totally addicted to it, and will be until I pass the last four 10+ foot songs I have yet to complete...the only one I haven't tried yet is max. (Max period) since it's not out in American arcades yet...

I play DDR for 5 years, grew up with 5th mix, WHICH SHOULD BE BACK!!!!!!!
Why? Long versions, harder. I played 5th mix for 2 days over my cusin's arcade before they took it off, went to my mall, played Sakura, passed it without breaking a sweat and Im no skinny dude. Im HUGE! That was so not like me to pass it like that but 5th mix still has the collest type of songs:

man thats awesome to see ppl here that respect ddr and bemani...im a big dancemania fan but i cant really affode the cds and no one i know has any of the new stuff....i started ddr back in 2k but for the past year and half been into drummania....if any of guys has any cool songs hook it up!
