GTA IV: Choose your Version!

Intro: So, two more days and wa-la, one of the most anticipated games of 2008. By the way, one of the few games to get perfect ratings too. SO its worth every penny you spend on it.

Question: Which version are you gonna get GTA IV for? Xbox 360 or PS3? Though I highly doubt neither of 'em are inferior to each other.

ANswer: My choice is 360 cuz I own one :). And a lot of my friends have 360 so that rules the majority of my vote. Oh yeah, any HongFire member with a live account that would like to play together, Hook me up! Gamertag: jingpin. :kakashi:

PS3 has the visual edge while 360 has its promised 50 million dollar worth of DLC.

I think I saw that the breakdown for Euro region of preorders was 60% 360 40% PS3.

I personally Never really Liked the GTA Series.

Steal Cars, Kill hookers, Kill Police.

It Just makes you depressed there are actuall people out there that DO that.

PS3 version. My 360 has disk read problems far too often, as long as the 360 version of a multiplatform game does not blow the PS3 version out of the water, it'll always be the PS3 version for me. Unless ofcourse my PS3 acts up....

@AyaKunoichi: I never liked the previous GTA games but this one is a must play. Its really character driven. The main character is great, dialogs are great and voice.

I only got a 360 so yeah, you know what my vote is.
I got it already and I'm loving it.

i have the ps3 version already , here's some sad news

this game won't work on sdtv's ie 480p resultion , it's work only on 720p even though the back cover says 1080p !!!

Not sure if the PS3 has NO framerate stutters, but apparently there should be less framerate problems on the PS3 b/c of the mandatory install.

EDIT: and the PS3 version runs at 630p opposed to the 360's 720p, which may probably explain the "more" amount of objects on screen for the PS3 as the first reviewer implied.

i did'nt notice a very noticable frame problems yet , however driving the car is a pain for me with those camera angels

Framerate problem = Around 15-20 fps (I think)
I always get framerate problem when you are driving underneath a train track and at gunfights. Is quite annoying when you have almost no HP left ...

lulz i was gonna get me the ps3 version, and my friend was paying me to get him the 360 version. switched to PAL halfway through, but if i had stuck with NTSC... i would have pissed myself laughing. i would be able to play the ntsc version on my ps3 while 360 suffers.

I just don't like the controller as much. Weird reason, huh? I don't like the dual-shock's trigger levers, and I suspect I'll be doing a great deal of shooting in the game.

Polls say 94% of the swedish gamer market interested in the game wants a PC version of it as well.
I'd say it'd be moronic not to release a PC version.

I just wish that there'd be PC version for GTA IV just like the previous major GTA titles (III and San Andreas, not the crappy Stories series). Though I'm playing it on the 360, I'm much used to playing it on a keyboard and mouse.

Also, don't bother getting it for PS3 if you don't have a TV at 720P or above. It's not supported.

It's purely a matter of personal preference. I don't enjoy pulling the triggers on the Dual-Shock--they feel a little bit...fragile.

If it were about the buttons, that would be different. But it's not.

Does it matter since the PS3 version looks and runs better anyway?

And kingx11 is wrong. The game is playable on SDTVs and 480p, not to mention the point that Rockstar even made a specific HUD to fit the SDTV resolution perfectly. If it didn't run on 480p SDTVs there would be an uproar right now, if not earlier.
