Xenogears has got to be the best one on the list. The story is unrivaled (yes, I like it more than FF7). Played it a fair amount of times though the second disc was somewhat of an upset, the story still remained outstanding.

Hell yeah! I adore Suikoden. An excellent story and so much variety. I think it's Konami's most under appreciated franchise; i just hope we see another for the PS3.

Now that i think about it, all my fav. PSX games are by Konami.

This is a hard question.... games I played would say the Suikoden series or the Tales series. If you include games I have not played will say Kitty on your Lap.... mainly cause it has nekomimi's.... and no one seems to have it ><

hmmm then again I heard there was also a CCS RPG for PSX... if true that would also be on my high list as CCS is my all time fav series and am a advent otaku about it XD

To the people that said Xenogears, how'd you feel about the 2nd disk? I heard it was rushed and didn't really have as much story as the 1st disk. I haven't played the game yet so I can't really say much. Just wondering about other's opinions.

1.Resident Evil series [ these great series from CAPCOM, especially the first game that made me knocked over because of startled :D ]
2.Tokimeki Memorial series [ from Konami, very lovable characters, especially the 2nd installment ]
3.King of Fighter series [ very much fun ! ]
4.Tekken series [ again very intriguing ! ]
5.Legend of Legaia [ touched from the first to last moment of Noah ]
6.Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy Tactics [ record of 99,99,99 ++ play time + memorize how to gain it, the first game I play thoroughly, I mean it, yep soundly :D ]
7.Wild Arms I [ never forget the first 'action' RPG game I played ]
8.Lunar series [ the music and animation is great, though the graphics is a bit primitive ]
9.Monster Rancher series [ I collected all the monster's cards ! ]

Vagrant Story. Gotta love creating your own weapons/armors and getting spells + break arts from different weapons. Also loved the fast-pace combat system. What I loved most is maiming the enemies like whacking them in the head so they go blind or in the legs so they can't move as fast or in the arms so they can't attack. I really wished they'd make a sequel of this.

If I absolutely had to choose one PSX game... It would be Valkyrie Profile. That was the first rpg that I replayed the same day I completed it. (the first playthrough took about 70 hours 'cause I loved the fights)

If I didn't have to choose just 1 then next up would be Star Ocean: The Second Story (Those guys could become GODS :O) after that it would have to be Megaman X4 and finally Xenogears. Loved the first disk, but the second and final disk left me feeling disappointed and a little empty... and the ending... *sighs* Ah well it was still worth it! That's right! I'd play it again even now! Good luck with the final Miang battle :)

I <3ed Parasite Eve, creepy story with fun gameplay at the time. I wasn't really much of a fan of the RE gameplay style (except for when RE4 came along later is a different story :P), but PE's was a fun and innovative experience. Some of my other close fav's were Star Ocean 2 (I imported the psp version recently as well), Xenogears, and FFT. There's alot of others I enjoyed, but these are the main ones. As you probably can tell, I'm a bit of an rpg fan.. ;D

Vagrant Story without a doubt. Ingenious combat design, great crafting system and likeable characters. Good graphics aswell for when it was made...
