    INFORMATION
devOSD N-EXT is fully portable and does not require administrative permissions per se.
However it does require read/write access to it's own directory.
As such it's best to not put it in Program Files, root C drive or any other protected folders.
My documents or Downloads should work without problems.

Due to this version being in constant development the update check is mandatory for now and although downloading the new versions is optional (F9 hotkey to download and install it) I strongly recommend keeping devOSD up to date. Builds are automated and you will get the latest version as soon as the code changes.

    Features as of N-EXT:
    • Native atlas translation support. Atlas only needs to be installed. No TA required for that.
    • Native romanization via kakasi (Requires japanese locale.)
    • Text-to-speech engine with voice selection and progress indicators
    • Selectable input sources including: CLIPBOARD, ACTIVE WINDOW TITLE, AGGREGATOR, FORWARDER, LEC (coming soon)
    • Unlimited regular expression support for pre-processing text
    • Unlimited custom replacements for text and voice manipulation
    • Text history (Scroll Wheel Up / Down)
    • Visual selection of words and live suggestion of names. JMNDict (name database) included. If you don't need it then deleting DictionaryJMnedict.xml will speed up loading time by 2 seconds.

    Illustrated mini feature showcase:
    Spoiler
    • Right click anywhere inside the window for the settings context menu.
    • Most options are self-explanatory.
    • To get the context menu in borderless mode, right click the little rectangle in the bottom-left corner of the osd window
    • When you have some text containing a name hit F1 to enter (or exit) Visual Dictionary Editor mode.
    • Select the text that would be the name and right click. If you have JNMDict loaded you get all the suggestions corresponding to the selected text if there are any matches.
    • Clicking any of them adds them to the custom replacement dictionary and automatically fills all fields.
    • If you disabled jmndict or no matches are found, you can manually add the word and populate the fields yourself. If no voice transcription is set the TTS engine will attempt to use the default kanji. Click the play buttons in the fields to preview voice.
    • It is good practice to set your entries groups per game so you can use the rectangle in the group field to toggle entire groups on and off. At the top of the window you have a grouping checkbox toggle and a filter for the group field.
    • You can also skip the Visual Dic Editor and directly access the dictionaries via F2 where you can add, remove and toggle all entries.
    • The thing above is the Visual RegEx manager. All enabled Regular expressions are executed on new text according to their order. Use the arrows to change order.
    • Use included entries as samples or hit Help button for some basic reg-ex info.
    • Timing is in cpu ticks not in milliseconds
    Requirements:
    • OS: Windows XP, Vista, Seven (9x/ME not supported) with .NET Framework 4.5
    • RECOMMENDED: Translation Aggregator by ScumSuckingPig (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94395)
    • RECOMMENDED: LEC Power Translator 15 (Commercial Software)
    • RECOMMENDED: VoiceWare Misaki / Show / Miyu voices for Japanese Text-To-Speech functionality
    • SETTING REQUIRED: First window of translation aggregator has to include Translated clipboard text (source is irrelevant)
    • SETTING REQUIRED: LEC Power Translator 15 ClipTran must be running and set to JA-EN or whatever language you prefer in order to use it as a translation source

Forwarder / Virtual Machine Client Tutorial:
    Spoiler
    • Start devOSD on host computer, enable server (F3) ( optionally choose specific interface and port to bind to in Preferences (F12) ) Windows might ask for firewall clearance.
    • Start devOSDclient in VM - run it, enter the ip (You can get a list of local ip addresses using [ ? ] button.), connect, check clipboard monitor, optionally enable autoreconnect
    • Set agth options inside devOSDclient (agth included, has to be in same folder)
    • Either select a process (refresh if necessary) or drag game exe to client
VM Global Hotkeys added (control Host Instance of devOSD 0.9.5.46+):
    • Autoclick (used when theres no fast-forward in games). Careful where you point that thing.
    • Toggle Bossmode (Hides or shows devOSD / TA)
    • Speak current clipboard text with selected voice
    • Clear text from OSD

devOSD nEXT - advanced eroge translation overlay

Does this program even work? All I get is capture of the untranslated text so totally useless.. there needs to be a tutorial on how to use your program because it is not simple to use like ITH or AGTH at all.. If it was it would work with translation but I get nothing but untranslated text.

Never mind I found a guide that informed me that should be in the program itself the first window in TA has to be the translated window you want to use for the translation. Critical details left out for those new to the program.

Here is the REGEX guide to super voices.

Have you ever been frustrated when you want voices but you can't because of all the useless information and spam?
Do you you want only dialogs?then this is for you!
      Just use this simple script

      (?:.*\d\d.*)|(?:◆.*◆)?(.*)(。|?|!)|(?:.*)
The ◆ is just name glyphs, modify with what you have in game.
(?:regex) is a capture that doesn't send anything.
(regex)? you can option the parentheses.
。 THIS IS ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT, this is the end of line punctuation,if you don't have this in game the script will be a magnitude more complex. NOTE Copy it directly from Agath.
      | Acts like a new line,Note the order is important
(?:.*\d\d.*) this captures and ignores double digits. Sometimes you will have hybrids that have your end of line punctuation 。
You can clean most stuff in RPGs,you might need some more cleaners depending on the game
(?:.*) this cleans everything else when 。 was not found.

Not all games might work, and there might be edge cases but this mostly works.Use Logic this and my useful tips for the rest.

      Bonus:
Using TA Helper Plugin can make most texts awesome.

I can't seem to get any of the DevOSD programs to work. For devOSD_6.0.0.1 I open it and it says "Unable to get text from TA." devOSD7.0.0.2_beta I can't hook it to TA either only to the clipboard and the only thing I get from that is Japanese characters. How do I fix this so I can actually use this? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

The translation should be the first thing on top(where the default is the original)

I don't exactly understand what you're trying to say. But I have but Altas as first in TA but it still isn't working if that's what you mean by "the translation thing should be the first thing on top."

                Hmm it should work.

Try to restart it a few times, since sometimes the clipboard gets messed up.

The program does work for me.. but I can't get the english translation to display. I have atlas first/top in TA but it just captures the japanse part and displays it.

Make it one column, that might be the problem.

It's been a while since the last version. Project is not completely dead.
Since the last release in 2011 I did a semi-complete rewrite conforming to my needs but kept it internal (due to instability) and I've been using it more than working on it. The codebase has become a complete mess with the new multithreaded approach for translation as well as the steps it goes through during pre/postprocessing so I'm facing another rewrite if I have enough time in the future.

                      Highlights:
                      • + direct asynchronous atlas translation (you only need to have fujitsu atlas installed)
                      • + custom name and word replacement dictionaries (separate for text and voice) by hitting F2 (text becomes editable)
Then you can: mark the word > right click > you get a context menu with word suggestion from atlas & enamdict
either select a suggestion or use custom and type it in
same goes for custom voice - type the transcription in hiragana using windows IME
                      • + implemented active window title watcher/translation (!EXPERIMENTAL!) (turn on by F12 > TitleHook. Keep disabled at all times unless required) (e.g. latest sorahane title which uses node.js. Method here)
                      • + added some more logic checks for filtering repeating text lines
                      • + working history module (alt + scroll wheel)
                      • + font size changing (numpad +/-) while simple config (F12) panel is hidden
                      • + TTS volume control(ctrl + scroll wheel) while simple config (F12) panel is hidden

                      Shortcomings:
                      • - hardcoded TTS voice - VW Misaki (change by editing the user.config.xml in %localappdata%\Devocalypse.com\version)
                      • - the only translation source for now is atlas/remote forwarder (unreleased)
                      • - all regex routines internal in code for now
                      • - dropped support for skins, advanced text customization etc
                      • - only a basic configuration panel via F12
                      • - no auto-updates - check this thread manually

In regard to Andys' request - there is an option to remove the semi-transparent background so background allows clicks to pass through but you can still drag the window around by the actual overlayed text.
F12 > Uncheck background. You need to turn it back on to be able to resize the window.

                        Thanks for the update.

                        Edit :
When I right-clicked it the image attached shown up, and if I clicked one of the list the program crashed.
Also I wonder how to set ATLAS translation configs (user dictionary, translation style/environment, etc). Or is it not implemented yet?
But tbh I'm using LEC now, so I'd be happy if you add it to this version too. I like this version overlay, it's more polished.

Just to make sure, you went in edit mode (F1) and selected some text before rightclicking it? Might have something to do with the blank dictionary files: enamrepl.csv and enamrepv.csv. Also double-check if enamdict.csv is in there.

In other news, the complete rewrite is going smoothly and I already implemented ~60% of the old functionality + some new stuff. I'll consider adding LEC support as a translation source alternative too.

Yes, F1. Apparently the only causing program to crash is when I clicked Text Replacements - Not in dictionary. If text selected has some replacements listed, it doesn't crash when I clicked them. [Custom] also have no problem.

Not for the moment I'm afraid.
Working on version XI in my free time. Once I deem it feature complete and release it I can get to making guides for usage scenarios.

                                Simple guide:
Run devOSD (this one) on host machine. F12 > Enable server and allow it on public connections when it asks for firewall access.
                                Run the forwarder/client in vmware.
It shows you a network interfaces list with addresses among other things.
These addresses are the vmware GUEST's and are there as pointers. They are random and or vmware version specific. You need the address of the HOST which in most cases should be same as the guest's with the last octet changed to .1 (eg. 192.168.127.129 to 192.168.127.1).
Make sure port is set to 63336 and hit connect.

If it cannot connect either you got the HOST address wrong or a firewall on the host is preventing the server from accepting connections.
