      feuerdrache pmed me and sugggested me to use RLTTOOL 2.02 . I almsot forgot about this prog. I'll try it.

      I've also recreated some of the texs, just to be sure everything is fine.

      Let's see what happens.

      EDIT: this program is worthless lol. it does nothing. it says overwrite_textures=value but thats it. guess youll have to manually edited the xx filesize info in the RapeLayTT?.ini files :sigh:

      • yep... manual hex..
        dunno if all those progs modify all the neccesary bytes in the .xx files, so i do it manual

        also, OppaiExplorer was done to work with Oppai2, and I dont think it works fine with Rapelay (even, it shouldnt work... but works sometimes)

                  I know when trying to inject for example a dress texture that the program still throws the error screen for RPP_06.pp, but if you hit the continue button, or go back and look inside RPP_06.pp that the textures have indeed been injected. (actually feuerdrache caught this and told me. Good catch BTW)

                  I think the .ini still needs to but updated with the correct offset values if people are using alessi's mod. I noticed that with RPP_05.pp, if the .ini values aren't correct, the program won't send the files, but once the values are updated that it will.

                  I may be just spitting in the wind here, there may be a whole slew of problems other than the offset values not being correct. Since I got back I have been going over to the Japanese forum hoping the author has fixed this problem, but so far it seems he hasn't. They do appear to have noticed all the new work done lately, so it may be just a matter of time.

                  On the plus side, looks like someone on their side has created a Mesh tool...I just got it and am in the process of testing it out (it's very beta at this time) so if all goes well we may be able to modify the meshes at some point.

                      • Ok, I see there is lot of troubles...
                        So I will post all the needed info to properly make texture insertion-extraction.

                        Some guys know already this info, but I will make public to see if someone (TheShadow, Dili, or any other guy capable enough to make a nice prog...) can make such utility.

                        This is a corrected info I send before to fbrossard that helped in the making of OppaiExplorer.... here is:

                        First Lesson:

                        All the objects, textures, materials, etc... inside the .xx files are referenced by names (no IDs or surch).
                        So, inside a material definition, for example, you have the NAME of the material and the NAME of the textures that are used by the material...

                        Those names are stored somewhat encrypted. The format are as follows (I will call this data type ONAME):

                        struct ONAME {
                        __DWORD length;
                        __char name[length];
                        }

                        but, notice that the chars are ended with 0 (as every string in C) and later all inverted (end 0 included)...
                        So, for example, if you have the string "abc.bmp" inside the .xx file, you will see it like that:

                        08 00 00 00 (size of string)
                        9E 9D 9C D1 9D 92 8F FF ("abc.bmp"+00, inverted)

                        You get this? good...

                        Second Lesson:

                        The complete .xx file are composed by 3 main parts:

                        1- The Objects section, where all the meshes and objects are defined. The "block" of each object vary in size (depending if it has geometry or not, and how big the geometry is...)
                        Also, this section is constructed in a tree structure (first "block" are the root), and you must read them with recursivity to get the end of the section, and the start of the following.

                        2- The Material section, where all the materials are defined. The blocks here have a fixed size, and the section starts with a DWORD with the number of registers in this section, and another DWORD (actually a FLOAT) containing a checksum for some data here. Then goes all the material blocks, one after another.

                        3- The Texture section. Same format as the previous, without the checksum. A DWORD containing the number of textures, and then the textures, one after the other.
                        The texture block (as I said before) is composed by a header, and a complete dump of the texture file (a BMP or TGA, depending if it has transparency)..
                        -----------------------------------------

                        Note: This format is the same as the BR2 files. But the reason that BR2XX.exe doesnt work is for a little difference.
                        That diference is inside the material blocks... the ones from Rapelay files have 0x54 bytes (all 0 i think) more than the ones from BR2... and thus, BR2XX.exe cant find correctly the texture section.

                        The rest of the data in the file have exactly the same format as BR2.
                        -----------------------------------------
                        So, for make a program that can find the textures inside, you must:

                        1-Skip the Objects, reading it recursively...
                        2-Skip the Materials (numberOfMaterials*SizeOfMatBlock)..
                        3-You are in the first byte of the Texture section.

                        OR, like some released tools do:

                        1-Make a offset list for each .xx file, containing the start of the texture section...
                        ... but this solution will have some problems if someone (like me) changes the size of the previous sections (like inserting shapes with more vertices). But also is the easiest, because the first section is too hard to follow... I think.

                        Third Lesson:

                        I will give here the format of the Texture section I mentioned previously...

                        Thats easy... first, you have a DWORD telling you how many textures are to follow, then, the proper "texture registers" one after the other....
                        Each of these "texture registers" is composed by a "Header" (variable in size because of the name) and the "proper texture".
                        The "proper texture" I call is THE COMPLETE DUMP OF A FILE, either BMP or JPG... the only touch is in the BMPs ones, inside the .xx file the two firsts bytes of the BMP are set to 0 (instead of the "BMP format" that says that those two must be ASCII "BM")...

                        Ok then, only rest the "Header" info... It has the following structure:

                        Header:
                        struct ONAME; //remember my last definition of ONAME
                        DWORD Unknow1; // almost always 0...
                        DWORD SizeX; // in pixels
                        DWORD SizeY; // in pixels
                        DWORD Unknow2; // almost always 1...
                        DWORD Unknow3; // almost always 1...
                        DWORD Unknow4; // almost always 0x15 for TGAs, 0x14 for BMPs...
                        DWORD Unknow5; // almost always 3...
                        DWORD Unknow6; // almost always 2 for TGAs, 0 for BMPs...
                        BYTE checksum; // the checksum of the image (look next lesson)
                        DWORD size; // the size in bytes of the texture file..

                        After that, comes the proper texture...

                        So for extract, you must:
                        1- Read the Header..
                        2- note the name and the size
                        3- Extract the following (size) bytes, and save with the (name) filename...
                        4- If BMP, write the 2 firsts bytes to "BM"
                        5- Done.

                        And for insert, you must:
                        1- Write (replace) the header updating sizes and checksum..
                        2- write the new texture block (dumping the source file completely) after the header (and overwriting the previous)
                        3- If BMP, write the 2 firsts bytes of the texture to 00
                        4- Done.

                        Fourth Lesson:

                        Now, the only left is how to calculate the checksum for the texture... thats easy...

                        The checksum consist of a byte-add every 32 bytes... starting from the very first byte of the file (I mean the TEXTURE file)...

                        That means:
                        Take byte in address 0x0000...
                        add byte in address 0x0020...
                        add byte in address 0x0040...
                        ...
                        and so on, until file-end.

                        That result (byte) must be placed in the texture header, as I described in the previous lesson.


                        You have now all that you need for extract/insert textures.. someone, make a nice prog!

                        NOTES:
                        About how to get into the Texture section in each file... well, I think the best option will be storing the offset of the section somewhere (and not looking for it).
                        For example for bm00_03.xx (my uncensored version), the start of the texture section is 0x0043757E (that address contains the texture count)
