  • [Translation] (Illusion) Artificial Girl 3

This is a translation thread, NOT a tech support thread. If you have problems, go here.

For end-users, you need to download two things:
    - Illusion Subtitle Overlay Mod by ScumSuckingPig. It's an attachment at the bottom of the post. The subtitle mod goes in your "[AG3 install dir]\".
    - Download roguefiend's subtitles.txt for the latest version. The subtitles.txt file can go in either "[AG3 install dir]\" or "[AG3 install dir]\data\subs\".

    Other notes:
    - If the subtitles.txt file is in the same directory as the subtitle mod, that takes precedence over "\data\subs"
    - You can configure the subtitle mod like the font by editing the AG3Overlay.cfg file. You can also configure it to use multiple subtitle files
    - There are few tips in this post

The SVN server is likely down for good.
    Spoiler
The subtitles are a work in progress and are not complete. Some voice types don't have many translations.
The latest subtitles are now hosted at svn://svn.dev.hongfire.com/repositories/ag3subs Yes, they moved. Instructions to relocate are here.

    If you're new to SVN:
    - Download and install TortoiseSVN (or any other SVN client, but the following instructions are specific to TortoiseSVN)
    - Create a new "subs" folder in your game's "data" folder ("[AG3 install dir]\data\subs\"). Make sure it's empty
    - Right-click on the "subs" folder and select "SVN Checkout..."
    - Under "URL of repository", put svn://svn.dev.hongfire.com/repositories/ag3subs
    - Click "OK", and it'll start downloading
    - Whenever you want to update your subtitles.txt file, right-click on the "subs" folder and select "SVN Update"
    For translators/editors:
    - If you want a SVN account, send me a PM with your desired login/pass, and I'll reply once your account is created. You'll need one if you want to commit updates, or you can send your changes to someone who already has an account. You don't need one if you're only going to download the subtitles
    - To make changes, just edit the files. To commit your changes to the SVN repository, right-click on the "subs" folder and select "SVN Commit..."

    Subtitle Mod by ScumSuckingPig

AG3+ Subtitle Mod v1.5.3 (for expansion, based on Hentaijin's v4.2) Mediafire Sendspace
AG3+ Subtitle Mod v1.5.3 Source Mediafire Sendspace
    AG3+ Subtitle Mod v1.5.3 Debug2 (bin+src) Mediafire Sendspace
    - Get subtitle files (\[type]\*.wav.txt) from the SVN server. They need to be in your "[AG3 install dir]\data\subs\" folder to show in the game
    - The Debug version only shows which file is expected when a girl says something. Use this if no subtitles show to determine if you have the correct path set up
    - The Debug2 version shows the filename along with the subs when they are displayed. The Debug2+Log version also logs them to "[AG3 install dir]\data\subs.txt". They won't show/log anything if the .wav.txt file doesn't exist
    - Run the Font Editor and drag-n-drop the subtitle mod .exe file to edit its font properties. The Font Editor requires .NET 3.5 Framework. The alpha for text color doesn't really work as expected because it's solid black underneath from the outline render
    - There are no longer restrictions on file size, number of lines, or line length. Long lines are word-wrapped. Each subtitle "line" is prefixed with the girl's folder name, since the first/last names aren't easily accessible. Subs are displayed in order of when they're first displayed, instead of girl number. Subs with overlapping timecodes will show at the same time

    *.wav.txt File Format
    Spoiler
    - When a .wav is played for a girl's dialog, the game will display text from the corresponding .txt file
    - If there isn't a .txt file for the .wav, it just won't display anything for that .wav file
    - The line format is "[start_time in ms] [end_time in ms] [text]". For example, "1000 3000 stuff" will display "stuff" for 2 seconds with a 1-second delay
    - Not having the space separators can cause a nearly infinite loop or crash the game
    - All timecodes are from when the .wav file starts playing
    - You can have multiple lines. For example:
    "0 3000 stuff1"
    "3000 6000 stuff2"
will display "stuff1" for 3 seconds with no delay and then "stuff2" for 3 seconds afterwards
How to unpack the .wav files
Unpack "js3_##_05_##.pp" using AG3 Decrypt to extract all the .wav files

    Pre-SVN & non-expansion stuff
    Spoiler
AG3 Subtitle Mod v0.9.0 (non-expansion) Get it here

    AG3 Dialog Compilation by bloodforge
    AG3 Dialog Compilation (outdated)
This was made with the merger program using the following profile:
    (dialog) [AG3]subs_v_003.zip
(dialog) [AG3] Sub-Titles: Addresses Kuropon version
    (timing) Hentaijin's Final Timings
Read the .txt file from the merger program to understand how the compilation was made (like how the timings were chosen).

    AG3 Dialog Merger (bin+src) AG3DialogMerger_v1.0.rar
AG3 Dialog Merger (non-expansion base.txt) v1.1 AG3DialogMerger_base_v1.1.rar (filenames with "no dialog" prefixes are removed)
*This is only to help make compilations and isn't necessary to run the subtitle mod*
Since all of the lists of subs is a nightmare to organize, I made a program to help merge them. Read the included .txt file for more info. Requires .NET Framework v2.0 or later. Get the latest "base.txt" and replace the one in the merger program.

There are a few different things you can do for this project:
    - translate / make Japanese scripts (I recommend starting with ?rak_*.wav, the common non-h responses)
    - timing
    - identify specific files with/without dialog (c-type done)
    - identify when the files are played

The following is a list of which files contain which voice type:
    js3_00_05_00.pp: c-type
    js3_00_05_01.pp: k-type
    js3_00_05_02.pp: n-type
    js3_00_05_03.pp: t-type
    js3_00_05_04.pp: u-type
    js3_00_05_05.pp: v-type
    js3_00_05_07.pp: m-type

The following are file prefixes with/without dialog for c-type. The other voice types are probably the same. There are a few specific files in the "Has dialog" list that don't actually have any dialog. Translations for certain files might be the same for all voice types.

For now,is better to wait for all N-type files and then check in game.Based on how good they are,we can think to translate more personalities.

Almost all empty lines are because of the girl doing bj or kissing the guy.And is very very hard to understand what is she saying.

But if you want, you can do this:

Type the name of the .wav file in the empty space like this:

    naks_014.wav|naks_014.wav

Then, when "naks_014.wav" text appears in game, you will know the situation and what is happening.Add whatever text you think the girl is saying in that line and change it from the subs file.

I released all subs in only 1 file;that way can be modified/corrected any line very easy.

Thanks again Matekun. From what I can tell these translations seem to be much more accurate than those included in the "subs_v_003" project.

I think it meens " Big Brother or little Brother " but don't quote me on that i might be wrong

I guess I was being rude and intolerant...

Feel free to trash this thread any way you see fit.

No whining about "I can't find anything because of all the garbage", though... Have fun!

Onii-sama is a more formal way of saying big brother. The -sama honorific is used when addressing someone of higher rank or when the speaker is showing higher respect to the subject. And -onii is short for the onii-chan, onii-san or (in this case) oniisama, in all cases it means big brother.

In a way you can rank -chan, -san and -sama as different rankings of formality. -chan being most informal and -sama being the most formal of the three.

            seriously...:

if you don't know what "onii-sama" is, you should be ashamed of yourself and leave this site since you won't fit our audience.

that is part of the basic of the basic knowledge for anime/manga

edit: this post is partially obsolete since posts that it was meant to be linked to no longer exist ^^

Whoa hold on Kuropon you don't need to apologize for anything or change the way you talk! They didn't let just anyone work on The Manhattan Project. This is a serious attempt to do a good translation.

It's one thing to want to help, but those jokers come and try to add input in translation thread for a project of such great interest to the community with bare bones knowledge of Japanese! If you don't know what onii-sama means (which appears in at least 60% of anime) then you have no goddamn business here in an anime forum. Also trying to come up with improper translations based on limited knowledge only adds to useless clutter. If you're feelings were hurt by Kuropon's original response then you need to get outta here, seriously, this wasn't a project meant for kids anyway.

I don't see this sense in the need to massage the egos of idiot's. If you say something stupid in an environment where knowledge is readily and easily available then you have no right to complain when you get stomped. I beg of you Kuropon! Please Please PLEASE!!! stomp the idiots out when they arise. Also, feel free to delete this post as well, since it doesn't belong here. I just wanted to express my opinion, keep up the good work.

I´m glad you will be able to update the mod.If possible, try to add the option to change the font type or make it bigger;because I am using a high resolution and the subs text are very small.

About the translation,Desudesu has already translated 90% of the N-type files, and I have compiled all in a .txt.I´m going to test it today.

I will release when all are completed;very soon I hope.

In the files there is a lot of terms well knowed for japanese people, but,if someone can´t understand something like "paizuri" "Ojizou-sama" or food names like "Cup-Yakisoba" or "Cup-Rahmen" ( not to mention some funny jokes or when in some line the girl is comparing sex organs with food) do a Google search.

                  Well,here it is:

All subs for N-type.I tested a little, but its a lot for only 1 person.Besides,a lot of files can´t be tested till Alamar updates the mod.

I talked to Desudesu and he accepted to translate V-type files as well (by commission).I sended to him those files with dialog.

It seems he is very busy lately,so the translation estimated release time is 2 weeks.

The cost of the commission is about 90$.If someone have a Paypal account and wants to help me to pay for it,contact me by PM.

EDITED:N-type subs are included in the AG3 Dialog Compilation by bloodforge. Can be found in the first post in this thread.

So does that mean the subtitle mod will work with the exp now? And i just uninstalled so i could use the mod again... =P

About the N-type subs that Matekun posted, can they be used with the subtitle mode atm? I tried doing what the instructions in the rar said; put the program in a sub dir 'subs,' place n-type subs.tex/test data into the program and hit complie. It says done and all but nothing seems to happen. Can anyone enlighten me? thx

I have tested the subtitle mod with the expansion and works perfect, all subs are displayed well, even the 0 3000 annoying text included in every txt file is not displayed, only the text.

                      Thank you Alamar

After compile, the subs are created in the subs folder included in the .rar.Just copy that folder into your illusion data folder.

How are people keeping the subs that are already done organized? After downloading everything that's been done so far, I wound up with 3 different C folders and 3 M folders. I gather that N is the only one complete, thanks to Matekun, and I know Hecklin did the majority of C. (C still has empty files for every line so it's hard to tell what's done and what's not)

I gather the strategy is to DL the compilation from page 1 and then overwrite with the newest revision of each personality type?

BTW Is there really a demand for an updated version of the sub-title timings? Most authors seem to use the default timing (i.e. 0 3000) anyway. I have no problem with crunching through the thousands of new samples. Just don't want to do it for naught.

Ah, got it working thanks matekun =) Theres so much dialog for each type its amazing. Though playing through the C type lately, it hit me that they don't speak that often even though they got such a massive selection of things to say. Why did Illiusion go through the trouble to make that for each type, only to have them speak infequently....it's a shame really =/

Anyways thx to Alamar for the subtitle mod =)
