  • [Translation] (Illusion) Artificial Girl 3

This is a translation thread, NOT a tech support thread. If you have problems, go here.

For end-users, you need to download two things:
    - Illusion Subtitle Overlay Mod by ScumSuckingPig. It's an attachment at the bottom of the post. The subtitle mod goes in your "[AG3 install dir]\".
    - Download roguefiend's subtitles.txt for the latest version. The subtitles.txt file can go in either "[AG3 install dir]\" or "[AG3 install dir]\data\subs\".

    Other notes:
    - If the subtitles.txt file is in the same directory as the subtitle mod, that takes precedence over "\data\subs"
    - You can configure the subtitle mod like the font by editing the AG3Overlay.cfg file. You can also configure it to use multiple subtitle files
    - There are few tips in this post

The SVN server is likely down for good.
    Spoiler
The subtitles are a work in progress and are not complete. Some voice types don't have many translations.
The latest subtitles are now hosted at svn://svn.dev.hongfire.com/repositories/ag3subs Yes, they moved. Instructions to relocate are here.

    If you're new to SVN:
    - Download and install TortoiseSVN (or any other SVN client, but the following instructions are specific to TortoiseSVN)
    - Create a new "subs" folder in your game's "data" folder ("[AG3 install dir]\data\subs\"). Make sure it's empty
    - Right-click on the "subs" folder and select "SVN Checkout..."
    - Under "URL of repository", put svn://svn.dev.hongfire.com/repositories/ag3subs
    - Click "OK", and it'll start downloading
    - Whenever you want to update your subtitles.txt file, right-click on the "subs" folder and select "SVN Update"
    For translators/editors:
    - If you want a SVN account, send me a PM with your desired login/pass, and I'll reply once your account is created. You'll need one if you want to commit updates, or you can send your changes to someone who already has an account. You don't need one if you're only going to download the subtitles
    - To make changes, just edit the files. To commit your changes to the SVN repository, right-click on the "subs" folder and select "SVN Commit..."

    Subtitle Mod by ScumSuckingPig

AG3+ Subtitle Mod v1.5.3 (for expansion, based on Hentaijin's v4.2) Mediafire Sendspace
AG3+ Subtitle Mod v1.5.3 Source Mediafire Sendspace
    AG3+ Subtitle Mod v1.5.3 Debug2 (bin+src) Mediafire Sendspace
    - Get subtitle files (\[type]\*.wav.txt) from the SVN server. They need to be in your "[AG3 install dir]\data\subs\" folder to show in the game
    - The Debug version only shows which file is expected when a girl says something. Use this if no subtitles show to determine if you have the correct path set up
    - The Debug2 version shows the filename along with the subs when they are displayed. The Debug2+Log version also logs them to "[AG3 install dir]\data\subs.txt". They won't show/log anything if the .wav.txt file doesn't exist
    - Run the Font Editor and drag-n-drop the subtitle mod .exe file to edit its font properties. The Font Editor requires .NET 3.5 Framework. The alpha for text color doesn't really work as expected because it's solid black underneath from the outline render
    - There are no longer restrictions on file size, number of lines, or line length. Long lines are word-wrapped. Each subtitle "line" is prefixed with the girl's folder name, since the first/last names aren't easily accessible. Subs are displayed in order of when they're first displayed, instead of girl number. Subs with overlapping timecodes will show at the same time

    *.wav.txt File Format
    Spoiler
    - When a .wav is played for a girl's dialog, the game will display text from the corresponding .txt file
    - If there isn't a .txt file for the .wav, it just won't display anything for that .wav file
    - The line format is "[start_time in ms] [end_time in ms] [text]". For example, "1000 3000 stuff" will display "stuff" for 2 seconds with a 1-second delay
    - Not having the space separators can cause a nearly infinite loop or crash the game
    - All timecodes are from when the .wav file starts playing
    - You can have multiple lines. For example:
    "0 3000 stuff1"
    "3000 6000 stuff2"
will display "stuff1" for 3 seconds with no delay and then "stuff2" for 3 seconds afterwards
How to unpack the .wav files
Unpack "js3_##_05_##.pp" using AG3 Decrypt to extract all the .wav files

    Pre-SVN & non-expansion stuff
    Spoiler
AG3 Subtitle Mod v0.9.0 (non-expansion) Get it here

    AG3 Dialog Compilation by bloodforge
    AG3 Dialog Compilation (outdated)
This was made with the merger program using the following profile:
    (dialog) [AG3]subs_v_003.zip
(dialog) [AG3] Sub-Titles: Addresses Kuropon version
    (timing) Hentaijin's Final Timings
Read the .txt file from the merger program to understand how the compilation was made (like how the timings were chosen).

    AG3 Dialog Merger (bin+src) AG3DialogMerger_v1.0.rar
AG3 Dialog Merger (non-expansion base.txt) v1.1 AG3DialogMerger_base_v1.1.rar (filenames with "no dialog" prefixes are removed)
*This is only to help make compilations and isn't necessary to run the subtitle mod*
Since all of the lists of subs is a nightmare to organize, I made a program to help merge them. Read the included .txt file for more info. Requires .NET Framework v2.0 or later. Get the latest "base.txt" and replace the one in the merger program.

There are a few different things you can do for this project:
    - translate / make Japanese scripts (I recommend starting with ?rak_*.wav, the common non-h responses)
    - timing
    - identify specific files with/without dialog (c-type done)
    - identify when the files are played

The following is a list of which files contain which voice type:
    js3_00_05_00.pp: c-type
    js3_00_05_01.pp: k-type
    js3_00_05_02.pp: n-type
    js3_00_05_03.pp: t-type
    js3_00_05_04.pp: u-type
    js3_00_05_05.pp: v-type
    js3_00_05_07.pp: m-type

The following are file prefixes with/without dialog for c-type. The other voice types are probably the same. There are a few specific files in the "Has dialog" list that don't actually have any dialog. Translations for certain files might be the same for all voice types.

This is a Korean website, they seem to have translated all of the files into korean, dont let the "english" in the text fool you, its a mistransilation.

If any1 can read/translate korean text, and have korean characters installed on their comp(unlike me) these files might beable to speed up the english transilations.

It's not official...It's a mod that came from Uppervolta originaly.

And I think you need more then what is given from that Megaupload link. Don't think it automatically shows up unless there are some modding done to the .lst files.

Do a little research prior to posting something like this in the future, we don't try to do half-assed mods in this Club.

            EDIT

Let me apologize to Uz3r013, as I should have really done some research myself before opening my big mouth.

Appears the voice mod offered at lds718's site is much more complete then the one once offered at uppervolta, in fact it's fricking huge.

So I am going to guess someone went to a lot of trouble putting all the pieces together and made not only a js3_00_05_06.pp file, but also appears to have a modded js3dl01.pp file and when both are put in the AG3 data directory, Type-A does indeed appear in Make, and it's Aoi's voice alright.

Always wanted to bring Aoi into this game and along with the clothing and charater files also offered at lds718's site, make this about as close as it's ever going to get with out some serious mesh modding.

Thanks for finding this Uz3r013, and again sorry for coming off so gruff before.

            • Can someone please explain how to make the subs work.

              Thanks

              Comment

              • It's so easy...

                Step 1: Download
AG3+ Subtitle Mod v1.5.2 (for expansion, based on Hentaijin's v4.2) Don't forget to check the version of your original Hentaijin launcher. If it's outdated this will work but it won't work properly!

Step 2: Rep Alamar and Kuropon positively for they are awesome and deserve it!

Step 3: Download Bloodforge's subs compilation

Step 4: Positively rep Bloodforge cause he/she took the time to share, and when you have the time go through the thread and pos rep everyone who helped translate in 1 way or another.

Step 5: Extract Alamars subtitles mod in your AG3 folder (the same place where your AG3play.exe is)

Step 6: Extract Bloodforge's subs compilation into your data folder

Step 7: Use the Subtitle exe to play the game and enjoy some of the girl's dirty talk

That's all there is to it, nothing complicated. Just download and extract. The only way someone could have problems with this is if they improperly installed their AG3 game. If anyone did somehow manage to improperly install their game despite the fact that there are several very good installation guides on this forum then I deem them an idiot that is beyond help. Hopefully you don't fall among that group.

                Good luck and enjoy!

Man, there's lot of dialogue that I've never heard in the game though. And like matekun said it's really difficult to understand what they're saying when their mouth's full.

On another note: the timings and translations for T-type are currently way off. If we are to take the fansubbers as an example then there should be an assignment of jobs, like: timer, translator, editor and quality control. I can translate some of the text but timing isn't my forte really and someone ought to edit the stuff afterwards.

Here's some stuff for the start:

                  1 Hold me properly.
                  2 Hold me tighter.
4 Lend me your shoulder a bit.
5 Why are YOU nervous? I'm the one in embarassing position.
8 Hey, lighten up. (Be happy.)
9 Hey, wake up. I'm making an effort to wake you and everything. Get out of bed!
10 Mumbling childishly.. Morning. Did I say something?
                  11 Aah, I slept well.
                  12 Morn'n. Well, g'nite.
13 If you're like that it feels (looks) manly.
                  14 How's that? Feels great doesn't it?
16 What do you think about these clothes?
17 These clothes.. They might be too cutesy..
18 How about this? Good isn't it? Watch me.
                  19 Hey, enough. Quit staring.
20 What on Earth are you doing? Come here!
21 Time to get up. Let's go.
22 How long do you intend to sleep? Come here already!
23 You got porn magazines, don't ya? No use hiding them.
26 Hey, suspicious guy over there, what are you doing?
28 Now really. Next time don't cum inside. OK?
                  34 ?Look at the result.
37 You like me? But of course. Well I don't exactly dislike you. Hey wait! Not there.. Don't be so forceful. Really.. What are you doing?
50 Going to take a bath, wanna peep?
52 Going to have lunch, what about you?
53 Time to call it a day. You going to sleep as well?
57 I'm going to the bathroom.
58 I'll wash your back. You like it?
59 ?I'll be ready soon, so wait a bit.
                  60 I feel great.
                  61 ?
62 It can't be helped. Come to me.
64 Now really. You finally decided to get up?

                  tdkw_
                  1_1 Yes.
                  1_9 Really?
                  1_10 Oh.
                  1_11 Well!
                  2_1 As i thought.
                  2_2 I hear you.
                  2_3 ?
                  2_4 Impossible.
                  2_5 But..
                  2_6 And then?
                  2_7 If it's like that..
                  2_8 That is..
                  2_9 And despite that..
                  2_10 On the other hand..
                  2_11 But still..
                  2_12 It can't be helped.
                  2_13 Really?
                  2_14 No way.
                  2_15 ?
                  2_16 It's like him (?her).
                  2_17 Nevertheless..
                  2_18 It's no good, isn't it.
                  2_19 Frankly..
                  2_20 That's futile.
2_21 Is it really like that?
                  2_22 Well then..
                  2_23 If that's the case..
                  2_24 Therefore..
                  2_25 It's not like that..
                  2_26 ?
                  2_27 Exactly!
                  2_28 That way..
                  2_29 Do it.
                  2_30 You'll do it? (?I'll do it.)
                  3_1 That becomes unlikable..
                  3_2 What a perv.
                  3_3 That was so-so.
                  3_4 That felt good.
                  3_5 ?
                  3_6 That was thrilling.
                  3_7 That was wierd.
                  3_8 That was pathetic.
                  3_9 That was good.
                  3_10 That was worthless.
                  3_11 That was refreshing
                  3_12 ?That felt rushed.
                  3_13 That was too light.
                  3_14 That was surprising.
                  3_15 That was painful.
                  3_16 I like it.
                  3_17 I might like it.
                  3_18 That was delicious.
                  3_19 That was disappointing.
                  3_20 I won't do that. (That won't do.)
                  3_21 I hate that.
                  3_22 I'm interested in that.
                  3_23 I'm worried.
                  3_24 That was disgusting/kinky.
                  3_25 That was sneaky.
                  3_26 I'm so glad/satisfied!
                  3_27 That was fun.
                  3_28 That was dangerous.
                  3_29 That was embarassing.
                  3_30 That was bothersome.

I'm not sure about the lines starting with "?".

What about the honorifics and "Neesan" "Niisan" "Otouto" "Imouto" that show up in the dialogue? Should that be translated or left as it is?

I'd say leave it. It's hard to replace them and not have it sound stupid. Unless you're just gonna drop them all together.

Not as far along as you, since this is part of a learning process for the language overall. So far I'm writing down the syllables I hear, converting them to hiragana and feeding them through EDICT. I'm also studying two different grammar courses and listening to various anime to get an ear for expressions and distinguishing the particles.

On another note: the timings and translations for T-type are currently way off.
The current T-type subs, like most of the P-types, were simply copied from existing V, K, and C types as a temporary convenience until someone took an interest in doing the actual translations. Before the Expansion it didn't matter much beyond getting the general gist of what she was saying, but now that she expresses more personality, it's really become worthwhile to focus the effort.

I'm still pretty new to the language and it wouldn't help me or anyone else to rush out a shoddy translation. But it'd be simple to get the timings; I've been running the .wavs through Soundforge, which automatically determines the duration.

What about the honorifics and "Neesan" "Niisan" "Otouto" "Imouto" that show up in the dialogue? Should that be translated or left as it is?
Imo, they don't need to be translated, but for the sake of consistency we may as well follow matekun's example.

What I meant was, I could translate some other type if you want to keep T to yourself.

But that's the weirdest thing: the taks_ files did have a similar gist but later files, especially the h ones, are radically different. Does the program load different files for different types even if the situation is more or less the same?

Then maybe we could cooperate? The short ones probably only need beginning and end times, but longer ones need to be broken into parts and edited to fit the timing.

That's two votes for leaving them. Alright then.

I'm not staking any territory here, my goal is to learn the language and I thought this would be a good exercise. If T-types can be completed before I get a decent proficiency, I'd be pretty satisfied, and I could always work on a different P-type after. Until then, I appreciate any translations you can provide, they make a good guide to learn from.

I'm looking at Hentaijin's timings from the pre-Expansion .wavs for formatting. Since Alamar's latest version identifies the speaker by name, I can add a 200ms buffer before and after, to make the lines easier to read. If two subs from the same speaker with overlapping timecodes can appear on the screen at once that wouldn't be a bad way to display them, otherwise I'd blend them into one set.

                            • Maybe he talks about when the line is "talktalktalkneesantalktalktalk" and there is no separate .wav.

                              • Hi, how come I can't find an S-type translation. Did no one do it or am I just stupid and haven't search hard enough.
