    Welcome to HF!

    I guess I can help only with your modding questions. Before you convert or use anything from another game, make some modifications on HS without anything external. Conversions usually require that you know both titles very good. And for beginners I recommend to learn the "production cycle" first. Get something out into the 3d editor of your choice, make a minimal change e.g. pull a vertex noticeably aside, then bring that change back into the game. The tool for browsing game files, exporting, importing and replacing and even a bit of editing game files, is Sb3UGS. See the link in the FP or in my signature. You might also want to have a quick look at the Glossary and come back to it later to read a few tutorials.

    Modding can make the game unstable, but you will never find out the reason if you dont start with a flawless installation. If there are any problems with your game, make a new minimal installation. And before applying any mod to it test the stability. Make a copy of the stable installation, then add or mod something. Fall back onto the last stable copy in case of any failures. Sb3UGS makes backups of the modified files by default. So dont worry.

    • Oh I have messed about with MMD and SFM for a while now, SFM is on the far end of complex, great program but too much. MMD/MMM is fun but being not able to read everything is hard. Fussed about with clay and voxel things too, just trying to figure out how it works. That along with the weird bugs Im having, a newone just cropped up suddenly the charcaters are all blinding white and no skin or tattoo textures load, think ill just reinstall at this point. Now, at least when I install I should have all the mods on hand instead of half arseing it.

      • hi guys, I'm a newbie of HS but I installed all the recommended mods and it seems to me that everything works fine.
        I wonder if it is possible in honey select to touch the breasts of the girls in other ways (I found only one way in the list of the h-scenes) and if you can suck them

        I do not know who to ask so I tried here, I hope you help me

        • Does someone know if there exists a mod for StudioNeo to make characters be able to put inside those groups (folders)? Whenever I try to give characters a parent-folder - Nothing happens.

          • Hey, y'all. Finally decided to try my hand at modding Honey Select and I'm kinda stumped. I have the models, and the textures, and can export them as unity assets that are compatible with Honey Select, but for the life of me I can't find a simple guide on how to import these things to the game. I just need to get them into the head slot.
            Anybody got a tutorial or a quick explanation that might help me?

            (Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I'm new at this.)

              With head-slot you mean accessoires for the head`? If yes, I may could give you a quick "tutorial" on how I make it. I was once in a similar situation.

            I made this thread sticky again to make it easier to find and moved your post.

            You can find answers to your questions linked in the Glossary (see my signature. Switch on "show signatures" in your HF settings to see sigs) and in the FP.

            I would highly recommend to start with a simple studio item after reading tutorials. Development of Sb3UGS has been going on since the tutorials were made and lately I made some extra simplifications. You can find brief descriptions and sometimes screenshots in my release posts of Sb3UGS.

            Please consider to ask questions about modding HS in this thread, and questions about Sb3UGS in its own thread. Often modders stick to the titles they mod, so a problem in Sb3UGS might not be noticed from others here in this thread.

              Oooh, those should help. A big problem I've been having is that many of the guides I've found seem to expect me to have previous working knowledge of SB3UGS instead of treating me like a total n00b.

          • Hello everyone! So, Walt has a few questions. I am betting there are guides someplace on this sprawling forum but I try to go right to the source instead.

            1. Is there -any- mods to improve how you move shapes around via the xyz for the character maker? I zoom in out, arrange to resize and so on but everything is a tiny bit off even when i try to match the sizes of the values and whatever. Its maddening. Is there some kinda grid mode or guide mode I can enable that will improve placement?? Since I am having to build furry muzzles out of clown noses and random weird parts, making both sides line up is good. (Alternately if someone has made 1 piece furry parts and not Elin I have those parts, help a pervert out?)

            2. Color matching problems, In character maker I match hues to textures, adjust shine, whatever, then in the game depending on lighting the color match looks off, even when I input the same RGB values. Is there some difference between how HS renders skin color as it does primitive shape color? But the color offset ranges from too yellow to too red. Yet, in the bright blinding light of the CM, it is good. Sidenote, is there a way to move that light from the fixed angle?

            3. May I please have a dirt simple impossible to confuse instructions on making little movies in HS, I can speed screenshot with f11 and gif it, but I would rather something else.

            4. Are items being weird? I have run the MoreItem and the other mods that operate with it, I noticed a while back large sections of my clothes and some accessories are grayed out, checking for errors with dear Sitri and the resolver shows no errors. In game, though it seems broken, am I stupid or am I missing something?

            5. Lag! My god. Okay I have 8gb DDR3 1600, Decent enough R7 Radeon and a AMD q-core with OC, my PC is literally less then a year old. Why is this game lagging, the screen turning white, saying not responding then loading? I have run -multiple- other graphically demanding programs at the same time and had no lag or slowdown.

            6. Photoshop! Okay I have CS8 (Yes yes old but bought legit ) I would really like to improve the screen caps, or just take higher quality ones. Is there a basic PS guide for tweaking, as I am admittedly too stupid to use Blender. I am looking to again make good screenshots hopefully and tweak 'em a little. Not looking to be a porno Speilberg (Some of you are though!), but I would like to get a little past newbie with a camera stage.

            7. Can we add in sounds and voices, along with subtitles? I have a friend who fancies himself a terrible eros writer and I might be able to ask him to write up some text that is not garbled or just nonsense sounding. (As to the sounds, a -massssssiiiveeee- collection of CC sounds is on SFMlab and its all sex.), If the directions are simple enough, I will test it out and if it works pass along the files.

            8. Is it wrong to be kinda turned on as the char you are building stares at the camera? I hope not.

            • I'm trying to find a way to edit the "Move Points" on custom maps for the base game of Honey Select so most/all of them aren't clipping into the walls of the map or are outside the map, but I have no idea how to do this. I was told to use sb3u, but after opening the map in the program I have no idea what to look for. Was hoping I could get some advice or get pointed to a guide that'll show me how to move around the "Move Points". I tried looking at various sb3u guides for an answer, but none of them focus on the .unity3d file type that Honey Select maps are.

                • Heya all, have a quick question relating to hair mods. I've been searching high and low for hair mods to create this character, as I'm hoping to improve upon it. I've downloaded the hair extensions, hair packs here on hongfire, and all except about 2-3 of saw2008's hair packs, as he's locked them on ZOD, and I lack an account. Does anyone know what hair this mod uses? I need specifically the bangs/back. Also, has there been an "all in one" hair pack of willing modders to throw their stuff together? Just got a new PC and I'm trying to reinstall all my mods. Thanks in advance! Click image for larger version

                    As you see that, i am trying to make it become transparent in color setting, but it doesn't work, can anyone suggest me a way to make the cylinder transparent??? Thanks!!!

                    • Hoping someone here can help. I've been trying to import some OBJ files (exported from World of Warcraft using WoW Model Viewer) as simple studio items. Nothing needs to be worn, just a few studio items to be placed in scenes.

                      I tried following the tutorial for SB3Utility here with some success: http://www.anime-sharing.com/forum/m...53/index2.html

                      Once I had a unity3d file, I used HiR to try and import it. I'm using the "free area" since I'm not currently planning to share this mod with anybody. So here's my txt file info:

                      It mostly works; it created an item in the studio that I could add to the scene. However, it won't let me resize said item. Also, earlier, when I tried adding multiple items, it would let me add one, but then if I tried to add any others they wouldn't do anything. It didn't matter which I started with; the first one I tried to add would work, then others wouldn't. I deleted and started over, so I'm not sure if I'm still having that problem, but if anyone knows what caused it so I can avoid it in the future, that'd be great.

                      Also, although I've removed the text files and unity3d files of the old items, they're still showing in Studio. Clicking them does nothing.

                      Finally, frustrated with the resize problem, I resized the item in the OBJ in Blender, saved it as a new OBJ, and tried to put the new, resized OBJ into the unity3d file using SB3U. It appeared to work, but when I added the item in Studio, it's pink.

                      Anyone have advice for troubleshooting any of the above problems?

                      • The text files are never used from the game. It is just for the integration from HiR. If it is later present or not doesn't make a difference for the game.

                        Unskinned meshes are not liked by the game and need to be "Convert"ed into a MeshRenderer - either during replacement or afterwards in the Mesh editor. If you didn't check that option in the replacement then Sb3UGS created a SkinnedMeshRenderer without bones.

                        A (Skinned)MeshRenderer without or with an invalid Material is shown pink in the game. Correct the Material assignment in the Mesh editor.

                        Try the Glossary, it has several links to tutorials.
