Yeah, this is another one of those post-Newtype topics. While I never payed much attention to NTUSA's reviews of DVDs and previews of the latest anime (I use fansubs and anime blogs), the content of the magazine was interesting to read and I often found myself hearing about random things I never would have known otherwise. Basically, while the magazine was catered toward a wide variety of anime fans, I found that I could still get a lot out of reading it even though I got most of my news from other sources. However, now that it's dead (and PiQ covers WAY too many things for my taste), are there any good magazines that are similar to it or better? Obviously there would be a lot in Japan, but that wouldn't do me much good since I can't read any of it.

I have no idea if there are any out there, but my advice would be to go to a store that you know has a large selection of magazines (preferably maybe a bookstore like Barnes and Noble, or Waldenbooks) and just look around. They usually have the hobby/gaming mags all together...and if you can't see any, maybe ask the store manager. If there are anime magazines out there, maybe they can tell you since they deal with books and magazines.

It's not cheating, because they are BOTH Kanu!

WHAT? NTUSA is dead? Well, I guess I should've expected as much. Information comes out very quickly nowadays (and usually free) so I guess that mag was counting it's days away. Even though I DID appreciate the posters, freebie manga section and such, it's definitely not worth a subscription,IMO, for info and content you can attain for free.
