  • UNNLIMITED POWER ("infinite" dot cloud 3d models)

so i think this topic is interesting and significant enough to be started in the general thread section.

have you guys seen this video

the capabilities of this sort of graphic technology is mind blowing. one step closer to .hack indeed. what do you guys think of this? do you think they're pulling a fast one on us? if so, why? a lot of people think they're completely bsing but their demo video seems pretty promising and legitimate.

honestly i'm excited out of my pants even though the way i'm typing doesn't make it seem like it.
need to learn something? a language, perhaps? try anki. flashcards on steroids.

We ain't anywhere near .hack/ yet lol.
Even though I would prolly play it 24/7 when it comes out
I'd give it 50 years at most.

Dot cloud tecnology is already used in Engineering. We can make a building's projection using the device, and send it to a computer to have a 3D model of the real world.
Old news is old. Games now can be played in real world cenarios.
Here:http://www.youtube.com/user/misho2bg =>some interesting videos using the tecnology.
And this:http://www.3dlaserscanning.org/forums.html => an interesting forum about it.

My college has a total station that uses the dot cloud tecnology, and we made a 3D model of our class last year (I couldn't save it, though).

animation is not my major, but I gotta say that is one hell of a program! I think I could see my institute use that in the near future...and by that time we might even change back to using PC coz mac is too freakin unreliable for these kind of stuff! : furious:
