  • What kind of IM do you use?

Just a simple question. Most of us use some type of chat program either on our
phones or on our computers, and sometimes even some video concepts (cue
    MMB) that are ridiculous(ly awesome)

I personally use MSN all the time, but I do use Skype.

For the most part I make use of MSN, IRC or Facebook to chat with other folks, be them people I know online or in real life.
As far as video chat goes, I've utilized MSN for it's one on one video chats, as well as the site "Stickam," which allows for 12 simultaneous webcam chats to take place within the same chat-room.
I have an AOL, YIM and Skype account, but have very rarely made use of any of them.

Many of the people I got to know in here I have in Facebook, so that has pretty much rendered MSN (or Meebo in places where I can't have the program) and Skype obsolete to me. I mean, there are a few people that I only have in either of the two, but I don't talk to them all that often. Facebook is basically the only one I bother to check on a daily basis nowadays.

IRC I only use when HF is down so that barely counts.

Many thanks to darkandshadow for helping me in the creation of this signature!

I use pidgin. It lets me sign on to multiple accounts using 1 program. I believe it has AIM MSN yahoo and many many more. It's a good program to use if you want to have all your chats put into one .

I used to use MSN, a lot. But later on when I only had a macbook pro I was forced to use Trillian, its not as good, but somewhat alright, Skype was used later on for voice chats and video chats.

The ones I currently use on a rather frequent basis are MSN (Windows Live Messenger), Skype and Facebook Chat. I also use Xfire, which is (weirdly) off the list, considering the amount of otakus we have here. I also use AIM on occasion, just to talk to a friend of mine, and I used to use ICQ, though I still have it installed. Google Chat is rarely used by me, though it's handy sometimes. Furthermore, I believe you forgot about Steam; I'm sure a lot of people here use Steam. I do, on occasion. Oh, and I've used YIM too.
Just a quick note, though: eBuddy isn't an IM; it's a multiple-IM online application. Indeed, there's an eBuddy ID, but it only connects the multiple IM's into one account.

Was using skype mostly earlier but since facebook popularity exploded its my main and changed Skype for TeamSpeak. I don't get why Skype still doesn't have some voice activation or something like that, there is constant noise when you talk with someone.
