  • Above, you, below ^<V PART 30

Welcome to the 30th installment of Aznrtx10's popular ^<V game! This is a thread for getting to know your fellow HF members. Relax, talk about your day, ask some questions and have a good time!

For anyone unfamiliar with this game, here are the rules:
    _____________________

    HOW IT WORKS

^ (respond to what the person who last posted said or asked)
    < (say something about yourself)
V (ask a question or make a statement.... let it be open so that anyone can answer it)

Here's a link to Part 29 for anyone who wants it:
    Above, you, below #29

    Anyway, let's begin~!

    ^ N/A
< Wow, Part 30! Who knew this thread would be around so long? At 4,000 posts apiece, that's 116,000 posts--and counting! I wonder if this is HF's longest-running thread ever?
V Do you remember when and why you started posting in this thread? (not Part 30, I mean the ^<V thread in general)

  • ^ Meh. It's oo warm allthough not quite "hot", so it's okay but I already dread the upcoming summer.

< Interesting choice, xcaliber9999, since Disney himself never directed any of the movies that most people think of first when his name dropped, he only directed shorts.

v Do you pay attention to the credits of movies/videogames/series/animations/songs/etc.?

    • ^ Too much to read..................

< Well I told myself I would do one portrait drawing a day. I want to master drawing the head and drawing in multiple angles. Hopefully I can do this every day. And on the weekends I can do more since I don't work on weekends.

< I decided to go back to basics in figure drawing. I skipped too much and did not master the basics. This caused a lot of confusion, discouragement, and frustration.

V What are your typical days off from work or school?

      Comment

      • ^ Do homework; do housework; chill with the family; study; read or watch stuff; screw around on the Internet; sleep.

< Recently, I feel busy even on my days off.

< After almost two years of not working out (due to surgery), I've finally gotten back into it! Been cycling and lifting weights at home before leaving, but the school has a pool and a gym, so I'll start going there twice a week before class over the summer (it's basically empty since most of the students don't do summer classes); need to get better at swimming.

        V What's your workout like?
Do I need to say anything?

I'm about to just spill some coffee, take a picture, call it art, and throw it on here...

        • ^ Cycling machine, dumbbells, pushups, situps, along with yoga stretches in terms of indoor. 5 days a week. However I much prefer running outside and doing a "farmer's workout" when the weather is nice enough!

< Not too many great days over here. I'm still in the land of 2 Celsius with the occasional snow! Luckily Attack on Titan and Persona 5 are always there for me...

V If you could have any musician/band do the soundtrack for your life story, who would it be?

Learn lots. Don't judge. Laugh for no reason. Be nice. Seek happiness.

          • ^ How about everyone's favorite Japanese 80s band the Gerigerogegege?

< Their music is about as appealing as my life is. (ツ)

v Give us the text for an imigration ad into your country that's based on your own experience living there.

            • ^ Nobody knows how to drive and the traffic cops don't do their job, but at least it's not illegal to watch kinky porn or say mean things to people (yet).

< Had to break into my own car last week; left my keys in the ignition... at least I didn't leave the door unlocked this time. Couldn't find a piece of string in the electrical engineering building, so I had to use an electrical wire. I now carry a piece of string in my wallet, just in case.
Yet one more kind of lock I've learned to bypass. It's so easy with most common locks that it really makes you appreciate that "keep your valuables out of sight" advice a lot more.

V Do you know how to bypass/pick any locks?
Do I need to say anything?

              • ^ Nope and I'm somewhat glad I don't need to know too.

< Most people I know keep a second key for their car in the house in case this happens.

v How many keys are on your keychain and what are they for?

                Comment

                • ^ I have three sets of keys: the one I mainly use just has my car key and house key; the second set is for a family property; the third is a collection of miscellaneous keys, mostly house keys for friends and family, and a couple of padlocks.

< I do have a spare key, but my house is about a forty minute drive (~25 miles) from school, and I don't get out of class until 8pm, so I didn't want to ask someone to bring them for me if I could get in without them.

< Speaking of school, the first Summer semester is almost over (only seven weeks). I'd forgotten how quickly these half-semesters go over the year.

V Do you watch any documentaries? If so, what kind are your favorite?

v Of the new flagship phones, which one appeals to you the most?

                    Comment

                    • ^ Don't give a darn about phones...just gimme a usable one that can play music and I'm good to go.

< Still using my iPhone 4S that is still on iOS6...now its on/off button is jammed.

v How fast do you burn through your headphones?

                      • ^ Sloooooooooooooow, My Sennheiser HD280pro took over 10 years before they finally kicked the bucket a few months ago (the bow broke) and I bought an Ultrasone Performance 840 as a replacement which I expect to last around the same time.

< I can already seeing myself ending up going for stuff like this, once I finally get my life together and have a real job.

v Is there anything in this world for sale that you want but can't afford?

                        Comment

                        • ^ I've been wanting a new computer for a couple of years, but I just haven't had room in the budget with school, so I won't be getting one until this breaks or I finally start my career.

< JAHT was looking at those headphones, the marketing bologna is so thick on the tech description that I couldn't tell what the actual advantages were...
< It always aggravates me when the sales department of a company decides to hide all the specs on things and just write a bunch of meaningless buzzwords on their products. It actually decreases the likelihood of me buying something to be looking at a box or product description (headphones, for instance) and they didn't even bother putting the impedance or the material the jack is made from.

V Is there anything you know well that you see people screwing up all the time?

v What do you usually wash your hands with?

                              • ^ Drawing! Since I'm still on the lowest ladder of beginners, I'm obviously not very good at it yet, plus I didn't get around to draw much lately because I'm trying to wrap up my education.

< sholum You're right but I never noticed because I didn't even read the tech specs on sellers sides, I simply read about 3 hours worth of reviews before I decided which headphones to buy.

v Try to talk us into buying something of which you are actually conviced that it's a good product.
