3D Hentai anime should be the new standard?
While I was looking around for more animated p0rn for my current fix I just recently came across the 3d cel shaded title named Batsugun Kanojo. While its not the greatest in hentai, they had outclassed ALL our old beloved hentai anime with stunning sparkly looks alone that 3D cel shading and quality CGI animation has to offer. The animation was smooth and sharp as a pin, characters design was flawless, of course there could have been better camera angles or camera motions But heck, PinkBell pushed damned good job IMO.
Considering we have so many options now and CG is becoming cheaper and cheaper in the long run I would like to see the more major hentai companies start supporting/hiring/replacing their old 2D themes for the much more polished 3D. You can even find FREE or at most affordable 3D modeling and animation software now (I'm going for DAZ Studio 3 Advanced as it appears to be a very good animation/render program for $149. BTW I've already got the free lower class version which you can get from their site as well as some basic model packages also free.)
When a guy(or 2+) sitting on his home PC can push out a personal 3D doujin in a few weeks or less like Doll house (Gorgeous character design), Umemaro (Fantastic models, and excellent h-scene movement), Bishop (Thats sister thing was hawt, but had errors in fully animating the characters bodies during the h-scenes) and finally whatever group pushed out Batsugun Kanojo. It appears its time for the big splooge makers like Pink Pinapple, Green Bunny, and Milk need to start applying more into developing full hentais like this.
I mean it allows the director to do ANYTHING, if you want a cel shade you got it, if you want a realistic character you got it, wanna copy a model give it bigger boobs, or smaller height and so on it can be done and more. What do you folks think?
Heres hoping for the 3D future of hentai

Batsugun Kanojo & Maigaru are great and all, but no, 3D shouldn't be a standard, at least not for h-anime.

Hell, no. Leave some 2D goodness around. I like some animation drawn well with hands. You know, variety is the spice of life and stuff. But that isn't to say that I refuse to watch 3D hentai, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with Umemaro's works in the first place. In fact, I think could use some more H-animes with cel-shading.
Many thanks to darkandshadow for helping me in the creation of this signature!

Why replace? Both have its own differences.
And with it being way more expensive to create and less popular then 2D in this industry no way its happening.
See good quality 3D projects more as a luxury you get to see.
And thats what? once or twice a year? The rest is crap imo.

2D... 3D... I say it's all good. It all depends on the talent and imagination of the artists who create it. 3D is becoming more popular these days as the technology is improving and more artists are getting into it. But keep in mind that it takes Umemaro about a whole year to make each of his masterpieces, so I don't believe 2D is going away any time soon.
I also think that hand-drawn artwork gives the artist the ability to be more "creative" artistically. For example, those cute drawings of girls with small bodies and huge eyes would look quite weird in CG. That artistic creativity is what I think makes hentai popular. Let's face it: if we want something that just looks realistic, we'd go for live-action porn.

2D and 3D hentai need to co-exist.
However, I'll admit that there's a growing problem I've seen with 2D hentai over the years. Lately, the animation companies have been very lazy in both artistic style and frame rates. Whatever happened to hot, decent ones like G-Taste, Lingerie Office, Bible Black, and Foxy Nudes? And am I only to turn to Pixy's Teruaki MURAKAMI for smooth 30 FPS hentai? (For those who don't know, Teruaki MURAKAMI's the duo behind crazy titles such as Taimanin Asagi, Princess 69, Dark Love, and Night Shift Nurse: Ren Nanase.) I'm probably gonna get shot for saying this but I think some of the older hentai from the 90's look a lot better than most of the crap that's out today.
As for 3D hentai, there's a steep learning curve to modeling, rendering, and animating. It would probably be expensive for these hentai companies to switch over to a new artistic medium and have to teach their designers the applications. However, in the long run, I believe 3D hentai would be cheaper than 2D hentai simply because with 2D hentai you have to draw a scene frame by frame. That takes too much time and manpower. With 3D hentai, on the other hand, all you need to do is render your models once and then reuse them for any scene. And with "timelines", you don't actually animate your scenes frame by frame but rather you set a "beginning" and an "end" marker in which you want your models to perform an action. It's no wonder that Umemaro is a one-man hentai producer because with 3D animation anyone can do it alone (with time and patience, of course).
Don't get me wrong, though, there are pros and cons to both 2D and 3D animation but in the end I don't think it should matter. What matters is that these hentai companies go back and focus on QUALITY, not quantity.
