Thread: Rate the signature and avatar above yours

  1. Rate the signature and avatar above yours

    Rules (similar to Asuki):
    - You have to rate a sig
    - you can rate multiple ones
    - Don't just rate, comment (constructive criticism is preffered)
    - Better if you have an image sig when you post
    - rating system is out of 10.

  3. @michel000: Is this better?

^ Even though you've been rated I'll rate you also.
Ava: 8/10 Nice sun water beam effect
Sig: 9/10 Nice color scheme design and simplicity but it's missing something I can't quite put my finger on.

I'm not really fond of giving numbers as ratings, but people here seem to respond better to numbers more than words, so I'll give it a try. ^^

Dramakus: The sig is blurry. Kakashi is out of focus. Your name basically steals away all of the attention of the sig. There's no border. It would be better if you either zoom in on the character, or move the character upwards to show more of the body. Also move the character left to show all of the blade, since there are a lot of empty space on the left anywayys. Overall, there could be much to improve on, and would definitely deserve a better mark after you've fixed all the errors. 4/10

  5. HAT-
avatar- oh the hilarity, 9/10 XD
sig- totally cool, i love the blood and the facial expression, it works so well.

    I don't want to think

  6. nice clean chibi with tiger ears, cute but not too cute, I give your avatar a 7/10

the sig pic is creepy, but well done. I give it a 8/10

I'm going to follow HAT's example and start posting a little more analytical
ratings. To be honest I've never really liked rating things with numbers, anyway. ^_^

The base image you've used is quite fascinating both purely technically and
aesthetically. I like how the two girls pose against eachother making for a
strong contrast to eachother. On one side we have darkness and on the other
we have light. Two different sides which we know have occurred in many
religions both now and in the past were darkness usually represents the classical
"evil"; -- one of the names of the Devil being "the Prince of Darkness -- hate,
jealousy, fear, etc. Light, of course, represents "good"; justice, kindness, love
and so on. As sigs often, in some aspects, reflects the personality of its user
one can wonder; which one would be you or does it represent two side of
    yourself.
Getting more technical; the first thing of error I notice is the white rose on the
pin-haired girls eye. It might just be me but it seems to lack the look of
perspective and seems a bit flat. It's probably a faulth with the shading but
since I am not even close to be called a person with any drawing skill it's hard
for me to judge. Otherwise I think the picture is very nice, I really like how the
eyes have been drawn -- it's very detailed. Also, I'm really fond of the colouring,
the light tones go really easy on the eye and are overall very nice. The picture
is good and detailed, I like it.
On to the text; while I really like the way you have designed it and put those
little "things" on the sides I really wish you had not made it transparent as it
just doesn't quite look too good. Besides; your name would stand out more and
be more easy to read if you went for opaque.
Short comment on the frame; the frame doesn't look too good as it is aliased
("pixelated") in the corners and since you make use of the png-format I don't
    see any excuse for it.
Your sig as a whole; it looks quite nice I think although it doesn't seem as if you
have put down a lot of work in it yourself. I could be horribly mistaken if you
have drawn that backgound image yourself but I'm assuming it's just a copy and
paste. That puts it down a little, at least in my mind. I prefer sigs that people
have spent some time and creativity in instead of the old
"copy-paste-namestamp-done" but that's just me, I guess. Disregarding that I
think you have a nice looking sig all in all.

anyway i find it very important that there are no strange colors in my sig (i meanlike the hair of you own drawing the red and green)
also matching colors... erm.. hard with so many hair colors but well
it also looks like it was to big at first and you cut pieces off...
    all in all
    7/10 ^^
I made it so that the borders around each person is partially cut off. I just like it better that way . But different opinions....at least I'm ABOVE AVERAGE!!

Big enough rant? Although following HAT's way of rating (sometimes I do it), it's actually pretty difficult to keep ranting on (like Exhibit "A" up there ). I've already rated b00lean, so I'll try my luck with PunkFairy!

    **Clears Throat**

PF's Avatar: Already rated it a while ago.

PF's Signature: I have to agree with boolean on this one. The contrast is very nice, but the flower seems a little "out of place". It would have been nice (IMO) to have that flower in the hair of the darker side, and the dark ribbons in the hair of the lighter side. Something more like a "Ying Yang" style (although partially portrayed here already) would've been a perfect score. 9/10

(Now, compare my ranting with HAT's and boolean's and you'll catch my drift )

b00lean:regarding about your ratings. I think you can keep the first paragraph shorter. The 2nd paragraph and on is really good. Also be sure to state some suggestions on how to improve on their signatures. ^^

    darkandshadow:I can't rate your sig.
